Bass Hunter 120 - *BEST* 10 Foot, 2 person, plastic boat!!! Beats Bass Pro, Pelican & Sun Dolphin

  • This is a quick overview of the Bass Hunter 120. I've fished out of 10 foot plastic boats, of all brands, for many years now and this boat impressed me a lot. I actually love finding remote, hard to get to lakes, that bigger boats can't fish and then taking these to them and fishing untouched waters. At the time of this video I've owned and fished out of this boat for 6 months and wanted to wait at least that long to ensure I had a solid opinion on it.

    I’ve had a 120 for about 2 years. Bought it for all the same reasons. Awesome construction with the one piece and built in handles. Super stable for youngsters that can’t sit still. Sad thing is no time to fish. Only been in water once since I got it. Gotta remedy that this year! Looking forward to getting my trolling motor and depth/fish Finder on it soon

    • @HoldunReed
      @HoldunReed  Před rokem

      Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it and it helped you. I did build that mount. I've been doing it on my plastic boats for years. Just go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a couple of the really strong steel corner braces and then secure them to the back plate with a 1/4 inch bolts. I had to drill out the holes on this boat. Be sure to use really wide washers to distribute the weight evenly and have rubber washers underneath to prevent rain water getting in. I'll add the link to the braces. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • @HoldunReed
      @HoldunReed  Před 2 lety +1

      Well, my dad likes to have a bunch of rods bc he's still new to tying on fishing lures and it takes him longer than 5 seconds to tie a lure. Haha
      As for me, I have rods for the type of fishing. For example I have crank bait rods, top water rod, jerk bait rod, a jig rod, a couple spin real rods if I need to go with a light/smaller presentation that'll cause a backlash in my baitcasters. Basically, I'm prepared for whatever they are biting. Just something I picked up from tournament fishing as a co-angler. I learned how important it is to have the right rod for the job.

      This boat could handle you and gear but you'd have to configure your gear to balance the boat the best you could. I'm unsure about adding a passenger... I'd say you'd be pushing it.
      Have you looked at miniature pontoons? Check out Pond King. They are a little more pricey but they're extremely high quality and the weight limits are double this plastic boat.

    Anyone else wondering what the legalities are of having an exposed battery essentially hanging off the exterior of your boat?
