      Static wrong title was used. Human can't live inside that building, even just for a day. living space should be above 20sqm also how can people go upstairs there are alot of factors that are not considered in this video. Damn this could be one great video but it is not.

      Static Exactly. You could certainly fit everyone, but those are pretty terrible living conditions. There need to be bathrooms, kitchens, stars/elevators, not to mention storage space. And having five people per room means a lot of people would have to be in close quarters with strangers. Plus having all those people in one building means sicknesses would spread like crazy and a small fire in the wrong place could kill almost everyone inside.

    • @riccardomurru5799
      @riccardomurru5799 Před 7 lety

      It would be simple, take some big cities in the world, take the misuration and the population and do the mean, then multiply the misuration in square meter until you reach the misuration for 7 billion people, and then transform into cubic meters.

    • @riccardomurru5799
      @riccardomurru5799 Před 7 lety +2

      It don't have parks, or plazas or other things. Its population's density was huge, more than a million for square kilometer.
      An Italian city is better, like mine in Sardinia. It doesn't have skycrapers, only one but is little, and have many plazas, park garden, boulevard ecc ecc, but it have many land without building, so i suppose an old style little town with low house is better.
      A town near me have 7328 abitant in 31.35 square km.
      So doing so math, it is 1068160744.58 cube kilometers.

    The reason I was wondering about this was, in the case we needed to evavuate the Earth. And take every single human being with us. It actually could be possible, to build a giant cube like this in orbit. And to the transport everyone up there, even using the technology available to us today. A bit of a stretch, and a squeeze, lol. But definitely well within the realm of possible. Amazing. I had to rewind just to watch again. And to think some people say that there's too many people, naa man. There's not enough. If just everyone could get along and work together, nothing would be beyond us..

      The smallest apartment is roughly 10m^2, we will be generous and give them 3m of head room, that's 30m^3 per person. 30 x 7,400,000,000 = 222,000,000,000m^3 (6055 meters tall) still not accounting for medical supplies, recreation, police, etc.

      OfficiallyANerd the question wasn't how can you provide comfortable living space for everyone on earth it was how can you fit everyone on earth in one building. It said nothing about it being permanent, it was just about squeezing everyone in.

    1.6m? Dude... You can't just make the ceiling height based on the average. That means 50% of the population have to constantly be bent over. That's not "fitting comfortably".

      Some floors (story) will be higher and some shorter. But the average height will be 1.63m. I'm more concern about the structural integrity of a finitely thin floors/ceilnig having to support the literal weight of humanity.

    That’s how big a building would have to be to fit us all, however, there are some missing factors here.
    First, the weight on each floor would be gargantuan, as a huge understatement. The support needed for each floor in terms of huge columns or something similar would leave less space for people to be, multiply all that up and you’re looking at a building that would need to be MUCH bigger just from a logistical perspective.
    Second, in order to, as the video’s title indicates, have everyone “Living” in the same building, we need a building with all necessary human facilities, social, economic, religious, militaristic, hygienic, and on and on and on... That being said, the building would need to be a minimum of 10 times bigger, just in order for us to be comfortable little pancakes, but as long as we have enough Ms. Butterworth‘s Syrup I think we might could make it work...

      And the height of each floor? It couldn't be 1.63 meters, this way it would only fit half of the population, it should be the height of the tallest person.
