I’d think that if you’re going over existing faded lines, just get a straight 12 foot 2x4 and lay it on the ground appropriate distance from the lines and a weight on each end. Then get a 3 inch roller on a pole and use that 2x4 as a guide to guide the edge of your roller carriage.
I get it. This is "one" way to do it. But sheesh. I don't know about taping and painting with a brush. Feel like I'd at least spend the $100 on a nice vinyl line stencil and spray with a can or use a roller on a pole.
You mentioned that he didn't snap a chalk line. I have two questions: (1) how would you get different line width results by using a chalk line? It seems you'd have the same issue with chalk or tape if you didn't measure and make marks first. (2) If you are snapping chalk lines in parking lots by yourself, what do you say the best way to do that, given you don't have anyone on the other end? I can only think setting weight on the opposite end. I hope these questions don't sound to dumb. I'm thinking about attempting doing this biz and I'm just trying to learn.
Not dumb at all, I have a video where I detail using a chalk line solo. I may have said line width but I meant line length. A chalk line would ensure that each line on the tail end were all even. Thanks for the comment.
A 4 inch roller on stick would definitely be easier
That's some serious labor!

This job will take forever
I think you talk just fine chris. Thank you for all the wonderful content
Love that 1611
If you seal the inside edge of the tape with a spray sealant quick drying, it will stop the paint from flowing under the tape .

I would say the method is good for 1 or 2 lines with brush, cause it takes forever.
I paint lots by hand. Do to traffic. The end lines and letters have to be straight.
3 inch roller with a pole. When you’re down on the ground it is hard to keep a straight line.

Hey Chris do you need a contractors license to be a line spayer painter?
Depends upon your local state and federal regulations
i think that's pretty good even if it did leak out some
Right, just gotta be more cautious if your charging someone. But I would agree it doesn’t look too bad.
title should say how not to stripe a parking lot
How about trying a roller? That tiny brush takes wayyyy too long....
Right no kidding, thanks for the support Sir.
I guess I missed it but where is your discord?
My number is in the channel description. Text me and I’ll send you the link.
It looks super sloppy and unprofessional. Hopefully he did it for free.
What’s the discord?
It’s a group we created for people wanting to learn and grow in their business without a toxic community like you see in Facebook groups
Some bunk ass work
He for sure could have done better. We’ve all been there starting out. Thanks for the comment my friend
Please stop talking in slow motion
