  • I have a custom process I do for retopping a guitar body with Fabric. This is a lot different than a lot of other folks. I actually add a whole new layer of wood on this guitar body.

That would really make that blue (teal) pop if he used all black hardware, with the black binding... Awesome. Merry Christmas D and thanks for sharing your process! ...Mike (Whitey).

Me and my grandpa did this on my homemade electric guitar that we built completely from scratch it also has my name on the fretboard we dyed the leather flower fabric grey it covers the whole body front back and sides my guitar is shaped like a banjo cause I like Earl Scruggs and he's one of my inspirations my guitar has only 1 pickup and two vintage volume and tone knobs and an output jack from a 1950s Esquire and for the strings I use My own set of custom 8 gauge flatwounds with a 18 wound third that I customize myself my playing style is pretty much like Luther Perkins he's my main guitar inspiration

liked the vid, interesting idea using resin on the top instead of many many coats of a usual type of finish. I don't understand the logic of gluing the extra piece on top of an already routed body then routing everything again, I know you already had the body, but why not just use a blank body of your choice then sell the other to someone who wanted that configuration? Seems like an awful lot of extra work for no real reason. Wish I had your shop bud.

Perhaps glueing it on with another type of glue will make a difference? Just my thoughts, just guessing.
