Scratch Built Versatile Booth In Multiple Scales 1/32 and OO

- A friend asked me to make him a hut for his slot car layout. Looking closer at it I saw the potential for this to be used in model railways too. Follow me as I build this structure from scratch and show how easy it is to convert to a smaller scale. This hut has so many possibilities by extending it out to create bus shelters, marshalling huts, etc.

Fantastic little project 😊 and with footage from the most beautiful coastline in the world 😊👍
Thank you so much. Paul
Great little build Paul. i can see lots of uses for the booth. like you have said in the video. look good as a bus shelter. just requires lengthening. thanks for sharing this great little idea..Tony
I think it would look great as a bus shelter, I may well give that one a go soon. Paul
This plastic weld is some job!
It sure is, it’s even fixed some of the boys toys. 😆 Paul
hi paul very nicely done enjoying your work very much will slowly catch up with your videos over the coming week cheers for now al 🙋♂️👍👍👍😁🚂👏
Thanks Al, don’t bore yourself with all of them though. 😂 Paul
@@GalgormHall 😁👍👍
Very nice work. That is a great looking little booth. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching and commenting Larry. Paul
Hi Paul another great video mate a every interesting model I really enjoyed it I am looking forward to your next video mate stay safe and well mate goodbye for now clive
Thanks Clive. As to that next video, it could well be the return of the Hunslet! Paul
@@GalgormHall hi Paul I look forward to the hunslet running on the layout mate I am in the middle of withdrawing my old lima class156s dmus for the realtrack class156 dmus I have two more coming from dc kits this week all being well I have 2 4car sets in service now on my stranraer harbour line I still have two old lima in service at the moment in BR Strathclyde livery realtrack is bing out there class156 in BR Strathclyde livery in November I will have at least one of them Paul
Ah, the final shot takes me back to holidays spent in Islandmagee and taking the train to Whitehead from Belfast.
When on the beach and a train goes past the camera has to come out. It’s hard to beat Downhill as a spot for grabbing those shots. Paul
Great work Paul that will look great as a ticket booth or a phone booth on a station now that you have done this video it has given me an idea to make my own one very nicely made indeed. Cheers and all the best.
Nicholas.
Excellent stuff Nicholas, go grab your craft blade and plasticard. 😆 Paul
Hi Paul, a nice jaunty wee tune to start the show 😁, I suspect this infatuation with CIE is taking root ☘️ Great show as always, most impressed with the sandpaper tip though 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 it really added character to the model 😍 that and the “Paul’s Master Paint” job 😮😂😂😂 Very warmest wishes from County Wicklow ☘️
Hi Paul, it certainly sets the location with the music. 😉 The sandpaper roof is a handy and quick way of getting a decent effect for felt. Will work just as well in n gauge too. Paul
Very nice Paul, I'm sure it would take me several hours to build something even as simple as that. David.
You never know David, you might surprise yourself. Paul
enjoyed this and a new insight cheers Paul at Sandling Junction
Glad you liked it. Paul
Interesting to see this build. It is a very versatile design which could be adapted for quite a few uses. I will have a think about accepting the challenge of building a N gauge version. Stephen
Haha, my covert plan is working. 😆 I’d really like to see what you could do with it in N gauge though. I did find the OO build much more difficult than the 1/32 so can’t imagine how trying it would be in N. Paul
A nice little build , I might have a bash at that myself Paul
Thanks John, very simple to construct, give it a go. Paul
Hi Paul, firstly happy new year my friend and glad you are well. That is a great bit of skill as usual, challenge accepted in N gauge, speak soon, cheers for now, Chris
Excellent Chris, I look forward to your interpretation of it. Paul
Good video keep posting updates up
Thank you. Paul
Nice little build Paul. There's always space for little buildings on the layout and "custom" made ones add interest.
I have a jig I made up (not my own idea - I saw it in a youtube video which I can't find now or I'd send you the link) from a wooden box with two flat metal baking sheets glued in at 90 degrees. You then hold the pieces to be glued with small neodinium magnets and apply your glue. It's not as helpful with anything other than 90 degree corners, but then it only took me ten minutes to knock up. Cheers.
Thanks Davie, if you ever do come across the link send me it. Alternatively take a photo of your own and email me it, I’d be interested in seeing it. Paul

A nice, simple little project. Great stuff Paul. Kelly.
Thank you Kelly, glad you enjoyed it. Paul
Great little (not so) build Paul, nice techniques which can be transfered between all scales and gauges, and not even railway modelling.
Alex
Thanks Alex, they certainly are. Paul
Welcome back, Paul! Great work as always, and definitely all kinds of uses with no or slight modifications in any scale. Brilliant stuff! Cheers.
Thanks as always Anthony. What do you mean welcome back? I was here two weeks ago. 😂 Paul
What a lovely little project concisely demonstrated and beautifully executed, thank you.
Thank you Oliver, glad you enjoyed it. Paul
Hi paul happy new year
Happy new year to you too. Paul
¡Hola buenos días Paul! Perfect little addition for the layout. Definitely using the design for a bus shelter and, will of course send you a pic of the result. Stay safe and well. Un saludo. Gary
I think I will do one of those as well Gary, look forward to seeing your interpretation of it. Paul
