Despite the fact the dude survived, that video still left me feeling a bit weird, obviously it was some kind of stunt to prove the dangers of mud and quicksand, he probably acted desperate in the video but was in reality much more in control.
But it still leaves me with this weird sickly feeling.
After growing up using the internet, not much phases me anymore, but that video really was disturbing.
But videos where people actually die, or, in this case, appear to die with no other information or context provided, like this, still turn my stomach.

Actually, you would not be able to fully sink yourself in quicksand. Due to the density of the bottom. It’s to moist and hard. It’s like thinking about it this way. Your trying to get out, kicking shoving pushing. But your sinking. It’s like thinking it’s eating you, but it’s not. So let’s say you fall waste deep. (Which probably would not happen) the quicksand would just hold you in that place. You would not sink.

2:00 * shudders * the way he moved was exactly what I did when I almost drowned. Panicked sloppy attempt to tread water ( quicksand in this case) that only tired me out as I slowly sank until finally I was trying desperately just to keep my nose above the surface.

I actually saw your video (the first one), and found it quite interesting. I live in a semi swampy area, the northern part of Louisiana, US. As I've been getting more and more adventurous, I felt I should research certain thing including quick sand. I found it especially interesting because it showed ground that looked extremely dry, it was even cracked! Why everyone is criticizing your decent display being caught off guard by quicksand, I don't know. If it's any consolation, thank you.

There are so many videos out there of horrific real world deaths from security cameras and homemade videos that somehow got uploaded to the internet where people actually mock the victims and even insert comedic edits and music. I don't know how they got out there but they exist and I really regret being curious. It wouldn't be an impossibility if someone insensitive found the footage and uploaded it to the internet for everyone to see.

Philip get out! I was JUST last night watching this original video and I've been playing the sleep deprivation game this week. I got really confused when you released "the same video" in my feed and the original was around midway in my watch later list (~500/1200, mainly since last winter). Don't make a tired man question reality like that.
Also the quicksand video was really exciting and I enjoyed it. I felt the excitement and a bit of the fear like as a kid when you just had to see and try out things that you knew were bad for you. Just had to dare how far you kids could go before something happens or someone chickens out and others sigh from relief when they don't have to go any further.
Edtt: Also thank god you informed the man most likely having escaped from the mud, I felt kinda sick from seeing that and thinking it might've been his end. To think that people would comment "how boring, nobody even died" just beats me. It might be because personal experiences. There was this lake we went to swim in when I was a young teenager. The pier had air pockets under it because of the construction and we dove under it and out of there, but once I dove and missed the air pocket by a bit. Got a bit scared but managed to pop out. I never again played with that kind of stuff again, one time was enough. I guess this comment is a proof that the two of your videos touched a great bit in me.

I just hope those people know that enjoying gore means you're a literal psychopath, and that's not just saying it. The major tendency of a psychopath is enjoying the pain of others unless the content is strictly for the entertainment process. For example, if you enjoy a video where someone burns their mouth from peppers, or people trying to create content similar to how the team who made Jackass, then you are NOT a psychopath. However, if you enjoy a video of someone falling through mud and never coming back up, as well as quicksand, then you ARE a psychopath. It doesn't matter if you think you're not, and it doesn't matter if you disregard this, or others opinions, you're are an inhumane thing who needs help.
Actually what you find "ethically" disturbing is pretty natural in the grand scheme of things. People have been hurting and dying for thousands of years, but religion and scared people demand that we don't study them, despite humans being naturally fascinated in the subject, especially the wierd/dumb deaths. Cures and understanding of mental health can all stem from studying material you classify as "psycopathic". My dad is a pathologist and his job mostly entails cutting open dead bodies to find out how they died, an important science in deciding if a mysterious death is natural, criminal or accidental, death is literally his bread and butter and without him and others being interested in the field many murderers and giant corporations would be getting away with their crimes. Death and injury is fascinating, and by studying it we ourselves can also find better ways to avoid it, even if that means just not being an idiot and winning a Darwin award for a creatively stupid death.

Never did I say that death, itself, is unethical, nor have the interest to learn from it. I specifically said "enjoying" because enjoying something is far different from any emotion, especially interest in learning. Let's think about it like this, let's say your dad dies, and his death is recorded and is put online (lets say that it's not by you, and void legality of putting the video online), are you going to tell me that you think that the psychopaths that enjoy the dads death in the video, as well as publicly acknowledging themselves enjoying the video? I highly doubt it, and regardless of what you think, they are, by a fact, psychopaths.
There's no logical argument to defend them, and the facts show that they are psychopaths. To defend them is to basically defend enjoying death, which again, marks people as psychopaths. It's sad alone that you're trying to defend their immature and idiotic actions.

Shane Sure humans are naturally curious when it comes to gore videos, most fewer than others, but I've had even relatives link videos of people in battles being blown up. However, being entertained by those type of videos is what makes you the psychopath (let alone hoping people die), and that is majorly different from being curious.
