Not an awful career now. And actually he had one bad season in a short career. As a high school coach of several decades, I’d take his 100 mph fastball and 90 mph changeup. And currently a 1.17 ERA. He’s a tough and courageous kid. But, like many pitchers, consistency is the key. We’ll see if that emerges. He’s trending up. And only several years in the Bigs.

Career stats are terrible. Over 5 ERA, 36 hits allowed in 42.1 innings pitched and his WHIP is 1.37. Kapler is a numbers guy but I won’t be surprised if he still uses him in the late innings.

Andrew Vargha It’s only been 2 seasons and while his 2020 was horrific his numbers for 2019 are decent. Hard to call it an awful career when it’s just one horrific year derailing everything. I’d give it at least another season or something

@@bendsomemetal He walks 5 guys per 9, doesn't have an elite k rate, is already 27, and has a 5.74 career ERA. He is awful, and his stuff obviously doesn't play because nobody chases it. He's got mediocre spin rate on all of his pitches too. For him to be good at the major league level, he's gonna have to find a control he never has before, seeing as he's been walking 5 guys per 9 at every level of the minors too.
