I'm predicting he hits .081 next year with 353 K's. Orioles will lose 145 games, and Alex Cobb will be out for the season in April with a toe infection.
Johnny Parrish sometimes it's like the Mendoza line doesn't apply to catchers. Zduriencik shouldn't have fucked up Zuninos swing and he'd be fine today
Yeah you guys are saying this, I’m the orioles fan over here wondering why the hell we would ever give someone that much money (even if he kept going like he did getting paid for a total of like 25 years isn’t worth it)
Angels fan yeah we did, but I was saying even if he still was playing like that, that’s way to much money for a team like us to be paying somebody, we can’t get someone big in free agency or keep someone big until like 2024 or 2025
Ryan Wow his swing has always been like that which isnt surprising that he struggles as much as he does. I personally think his 2013 was a fluke he always hits for a low batting average but has an okay ISO.
2:09 That's a 92 MPH fastball right in the middle of the zone. Almost any hitter in the league would at least put wood on it but this dude lazily whiffs on
Striking out a lot is one thing, but hitting just 16 home runs and 49 rbis when you're supposed to be a power hitter, hitting for a .168 BA, .243 OBP, .296 Slugging, that's a whole lotta yikes right there.
Fun Facts: Davis actually struck out more in 2013 (199) but he lead the league in HRs (53) and RBI’s (138) that year He also is 3rd all time on the single season strikeouts with 219 in 2016 So it’s not really the problem entirely that he struck out a lot, but he didn’t deliver
He used to be a dangerous hitter who made pitchers quiver when he stepped in at the dish. Now pitchers grin when he steps in, knowing how easy the out is.
No one else even offered this guy what he was asking. Yet Baltimore paid him more than he asked... outbidding themselves. Even as a Yankee fan, I thought "Gee... don't they know Machado's a FA in a couple years?"
At the other end of the strikeout scale, Joe Sewell played 14 years (1903 games; 7132 at-bats) with the Cleveland Athletics between 1920 and 1933 and struck out 114 times in HIS ENTIRE CAREER.
his foot gets down so late that he doesn't have time to react to anything so he is basically guessing where the pitch will be and then comes his bat speed so when he predicts some off speed, it gets blown right by him and vice versa
it's not his bat speed; he can;t see the ball and never changes up his approach. He's perfectly capable of swinging the bat faster, and even if he did it wouldn't change anything
You can say what you want about his bat speed or whatever but he has zero vision. Almost all of these look like he's seeing major league pitching for the first time.
The amount of strike 3s he takes literally in the middle of the zone is insane, I'm struggling to see what he's actually looking for in this video, because generally you can get a sense of what they're looking. But there are so many times where just doesnt even look like taking the bat off his shoulder.
Yeah Chris Davis also has some of the worse vision at the plate I've ever seen, but his bat speed hurts his vision even more because it's take him so damn long to get the bat to meet the ball, basically means he has less time to make up his mind. Actually if you go back and look at Davis' best seasons he was hitting plenty of pitches that were way out of the strike zone for homeruns, my guess was that Davis' confidence and hand-eye coordination was just better back then.
Eventually you get so frustrated you start trying to reinvent yourself, which often just makes it worse. By the time you realize you just need to go back to the beginning, you're either too old, or too far away to ever be good again.
The saddest part is I’m always looking at the tiny scoreboard and it either has the Orioles down, Davis going 0 for 1, 2, 3, or 4, or it shows his Batting Average. All of these are hard to watch, let alone them being combine
It almost looks like he's just poking the bat out and hoping the ball hits it. It might just be me, but his swings just look so half-hearted. I'm a Red Sox fan, but I'd actually really like to see him make a comeback.
I'm just wondering why nobody pinch hit somebody instead of Davis in some of these situations, like there's a lot where they actually have runners on and could potentially score runs but they leave Davis in to strike out and end the inning... It's no wonder though why the Os were so bad last year
It's not the fact he's striking out that's sad. It's that he's either struck out looking, or taking most uninterested swing imaginable. If he just swung hard on most of those it would at least look like he tried to hit the ball, but I guess when you're batting sub .200 you just don't have the will to care 😂
He looks sooooo uncomfortable at the plate like something legit just isn’t right So off balance Lazy swings Not swinging at strikes Swinging at balls It’s so bad it looks like he’s doing it on purpose
Dude has this weird "hitch" to his swing. He can't stop uppercutting everything. Which is why many of the swinging strikeouts are foul tipped into the glove. He stands too straight...which makes him have to uppercut (he's already tall to begin with)...if he'd crouch just a little and straighten his swing...he'd at least make contact. But old habits die hard.
I'm predicting he hits .081 next year with 353 K's. Orioles will lose 145 games, and Alex Cobb will be out for the season in April with a toe infection.
Reasonable.
That’s Bold
You sure they’ll do that good.
Seems about right
Made The Cut sounds realistic
Fun fact - Chris Davis’ batting average never got above .200 all season.
BubbaBlack I did not know that. That is simply incredible.
Yup. The highest it ever got was .186
Johnny Parrish sometimes it's like the Mendoza line doesn't apply to catchers. Zduriencik shouldn't have fucked up Zuninos swing and he'd be fine today
@Johnny Parrish Believe it or not, Mike Zunino struck out at slightly higher rate than Davis in 2018. By 0.2%
Couldn’t even manage a 1/4 or 1/5 opening day?? Damn
His amount of strikeouts was higher than his batting average. What a legend.
I never knew that Chris Davis is garbage
guzzoCARTOONS he’s not it’s just he had to stop taking Adderall for his adhd
He could've been the 2018 AL Cy Young winner 😂😂😂😂
.168 Batting average against
Franklin Soong i had to read it 3 times then got it
Franklin Soong always
HE HAS ADHD
He’ll somehow have more strikeouts than at bats next season.
kihlos 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Lmao
If anyone can do it....
And hes getting paid 163 million
You know what's worse. Its deferred so he's getting paid until like 2031
Yeah you guys are saying this, I’m the orioles fan over here wondering why the hell we would ever give someone that much money (even if he kept going like he did getting paid for a total of like 25 years isn’t worth it)
Didn’t they pay him after his 50 HR season?
Angels fan yeah we did, but I was saying even if he still was playing like that, that’s way to much money for a team like us to be paying somebody, we can’t get someone big in free agency or keep someone big until like 2024 or 2025
That's an expensive price ticket for a 53 and 47 home run season... 90's and 2000's players are jealous.
It’s crazy what can happen in a span of a few years. One year you hit 50+ Home runs , another year you’re one of the worst players in the mlb
I think you mean THE worst player in the game when it comes to starting players.
I was referring to one of the worst to ever play the game. I didn’t make that very clear
he got caught with that adderall, has never been the same since
@@kingkobra_1945This medication is used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder - ADHD. Interesting.
When he hit 50+ HRs, he still struck out over 200 times
Bruh this dude takin pitches down the middle at 0-2 😭
His bat speed is turtle slow. Pretty sad to watch. He used to be really good.
Ryan Wow his swing has always been like that which isnt surprising that he struggles as much as he does. I personally think his 2013 was a fluke he always hits for a low batting average but has an okay ISO.
Ryan Wow it’s cuz the steroids fucked him over
The Berg he never used steroids he got caught using adderall which is for adhd
Akspoon47 which people use all the time to enhance performance. Don’t be fooled.
2:09 That's a 92 MPH fastball right in the middle of the zone. Almost any hitter in the league would at least put wood on it but this dude lazily whiffs on
I like how he resorted to bat flipping strikeouts at 14:25 because you know fomo
Remember when khris Davis was the forgotten Davis?
I love that Gary Thorne sounds excited about the K for a second at 13:04 but stops himself and changes his tone lmao.
masterpiece
I love you man

Great channel

While getting a 163 Million deal few years back
I thought you made a mistake with his slugging percentage but it really is that bad lol.
That's insane
Pretty crazy to think he’s had over 200 strikeouts multiple times before
While struggling to focus from ADHD
It’s like he was trying to take 2 strike fastballs down the middle and swing everything else out of the zone. What an approach. Poor dude.
Now make a compilation of him actually getting hits last season
It would not even be a minute
Jiub nah, CZcams pays extra for videos over 10 minutes. So he should do groundouts
Fun Facts: Davis actually struck out more in 2013 (199) but he lead the league in HRs (53) and RBI’s (138) that year

So it’s not really the problem entirely that he struck out a lot, but he didn’t deliver
@Hunter Wakeley but Stanton still bats over .260
He also had 151 more plate appearances in 2013 than 2018.
On May 4, Chris Davis was hitting .186 - the highest it would be all season.
Alex Burbidge so when he got his first hit
No, he actually got his first hit on April 2, which elevated his average to .067
Alex Burbidge so he was 0-14 in his first few ab’s? wow
Really struggles with breaking balls...
And fastballs and change ups
XxXxXxXx and euphuses
XxXxXxXx
And sliders
And Curveballs

this would go great with wii music
@NPC #102117 Just play it on loop for 10 minutes lmfao

Yessir
This is truly a work of art.
He’s the reason strikeouts are at an all time high😂
Cubs Baseball and judge and stanton
hello 47 give judge some credit, some umpires don’t know the strike zone with judge.
@@theberg2035 that's true and him so tall he has to squat like a catcher. But it's so bad to see him swing and miss so much
Cubs baseball go Cubs go
Certainly a prime reason why hitters had more strikeouts than hits for the first time ever. (I wish I was kidding. XD)
This guy makes 21 millions for striking out almost 200 times and batting under 200
he swings like a pitcher smh
Sean Stuchbery
You can’t talk about Syndergaard that way.
Want to see 161 million dollars burn? Just watch Chris Davis play baseball!
I leave the room for 10min come back dudes still striking out lmao this is great
Sad and frustrating for Chris but kinda satisfying to watch
All of his swinging Ks were such half-assed swings. Legit looks like he gave up on his career.
His contract is guaranteed so he really has no incentive to play better.
They could fire him and he still gets paid 100% of his contract
LMFAO
He has adhd and he can’t take Adderall anymore
Chris Davis multi hit games of 2018?
a video must be at least 1 second long to upload
Blaque It’s definitely short enough to be a non skip ad on CZcams
Surprisingly Davis had 16 multi hit games in 2018.
cdmdjd2009 that’s pretty fucking ass lmfaooo. I’m sure trout does that every 3 weeks
Trout strikes out almost as much as ol' Chris.
Brings a new term too "Whipping on a pitch".
Wiffing or whipping?
whiffing?
Even Sonny Gray joining in the Strikeout Davis party.
No one else even offered this guy what he was asking. Yet Baltimore paid him more than he asked... outbidding themselves. Even as a Yankee fan, I thought "Gee... don't they know Machado's a FA in a couple years?"
Too bad Tony Gwynn isn't around to help him. I read Tony's book and he always recommended a lighter bat. Its painful to watch this.
Dude swings at pitches outside of the zone more than in it.
At the other end of the strikeout scale, Joe Sewell played 14 years (1903 games; 7132 at-bats) with the Cleveland Athletics between 1920 and 1933 and struck out 114 times in HIS ENTIRE CAREER.
Joe Sewell has just built different...
his foot gets down so late that he doesn't have time to react to anything so he is basically guessing where the pitch will be and then comes his bat speed so when he predicts some off speed, it gets blown right by him and vice versa
Haha I'm a jays fan, I remember being scared of this guy
Ooohhhh yes... Those divisional sold out matchups in the 2nd half of the 2015 season... When we were scary and so was he... good times.
There’s something therapeutic about watching Chris Davis strike out this many times.
Maybe it’s because I’m more of a pitching guy but hey
His bat speed is the most obvious problem
John Wray he’s always looked like he barely had much bat speed even when he hit 35+ home runs.
nah, its the fact that the dude straight up cannot see the ball anymore. He's just guessing where to swing at this point.
chibifirestorm he’s basically like “fuck it, the ball gotta be somewhere”
it's not his bat speed; he can;t see the ball and never changes up his approach. He's perfectly capable of swinging the bat faster, and even if he did it wouldn't change anything
God his swing looks painfully long and slow
Ive seen high schoolers swing harder than him.
Better than Stanton who struck out 192 times in the playoffs
TheShachattack13 funny
Yeah but aaron judge actually had a good average
@@markmerkt3680 yet Stanton still had a good year
but you gotta admit, that time when he hit a home run swiveling off his heel was pretty damn cool
Man, and he has one of my favorite swings in the game! Always so smooth... but it looked like he was just guessing at more than half of these. WIld.
We need this for Stanton or all of the giants players.
Juan Villasenor woah woah woah my giants didn’t strike out THAT much
Davis was so frustrated he was only trying to put a ball out he swung too much and just couldn’t make contact
His ADHD is so terrible
You can say what you want about his bat speed or whatever but he has zero vision. Almost all of these look like he's seeing major league pitching for the first time.

Chris Davis memo: watches pitches, swings at balls a foot off the plate.
3:34 He 0-44 his last 44 at bats....What kind of improvement is he talking about😂😂😂
This had me loling
Chris' agent slick
4:37 pitches always look nastier when the catcher gets crossed up
Nice, the number of strikeouts was higher than his batting average
another great video (and creative )
lol how many times DIDN'T he strike out last season
I’m not a O’s fan but this was HARD to watch
I’d probably pity Chris, if he wasn’t getting paid 27K to do this
It cost him 192k's though
And there goes Davis.... Striking out again.
14:35 Someone is tired of it.
Great video. mesmerizing.
The saddest part is I’m always looking at the tiny scoreboard and it either has the Orioles down, Davis going 0 for 1, 2, 3, or 4, or it shows his Batting Average. All of these are hard to watch, let alone them being combine
He better be doing something during the offseason in order to fix this.
Chris Davis' batting reminds me of the first time I ever an MLB THE SHOW game. Literally swinging for the fences.
Don't know he could be HR Champ one year, and now by far the worst batter in the league. He's a strong man. A big part of it must be mental.
Great video! Make more highlights like this please
This is coming from an O's fan, remember when he was underrated?
They should let him get a hit fuck, I feel bad for this guy
It almost looks like he's just poking the bat out and hoping the ball hits it. It might just be me, but his swings just look so half-hearted. I'm a Red Sox fan, but I'd actually really like to see him make a comeback.
isn’t it kinda sad how this video is 15 minutes long

Somehow Scott Boras got him prime Albert Pujols money.
Carl Wheezer he’s trying to get Harper 10 years and more than $300 million
Smartest guy in the league collects his millions without ever having to put the wear and tear on his body from running the bases... genius.
Baseball is a up and down game 🙏🏻
Chris Davis got this big ass contract and now he can't even hit the ball to save his life, I just feel really bad for the guy watching this video.
218 strikeouts is his highest. 2019, he is striking out at .500 ....LOL. how is he still on the team?
I feel kinda bad for him, because he's actually a pretty nice guy.
Well, this "nice guy" is getting paid over 20 million dollars a year, so don't feel too bad.
The legend
Legendary season.
I feel for this man
Poor Chris Davis. Only being a little facetious here: I hope he has a good therapist. This cannot be easy to do every day.
Anyone else notice that Blake Snell never showed up in this video?
Could you do pitchers getting walked. Not throwing walks, getting on base with a walk
How do you even put this together? I would feel bad for the guy, minus the $163M.
It's not the fact he's striking out that's sad. It's that he's either struck out looking, or taking most uninterested swing imaginable.
