I remember reading an interview back in the nineties where she stated that she was a buddhist and had been finally able to "completely eradicate the idea of a male God in my mind", which was interesting to hear. As women, especially as Christian-raised women, we are conditioned from the get-go to absorb a sense of inferiority because _God is a man._ Though we were taught Jesus is the son of God - in reality, most of us worshipped 'Jesus'. She's free to worship who she wants, but how do you go from being "able to eradicate the idea of a male God" to this? She surprised me here.
Nowhere in the Bible are we taught that women are inferior. In fact, Jesus respected women when the rest of society treated them with disdain. The woman at the well, for example, he had no trouble speaking directly with her and people were amazed because he was speaking to a woman. And even Mary Magdalene, a prostitute, he saved from being stoned to death. So God respected women in the Bible. It's man who places a label of inferiority, not Christianity.
Abortion is a hard one to shake out of a product of Hollywood, not to mention a hardcore feminist. It’s widely accepted in many “progressive” denominations today. Hopefully she’ll be moved to reconsider some day but I won’t hold my breath.

When you go through a bad life event, it's easy to get sucked into whatever comes into view. Sad that she betrayed her beliefs that way.
