      The guy that created Moonlighting said that she had gone thru a traumatic event during moonlighting as well. Bruce is a Pisces - wanted to have fun & make it all about him. She’s an Aquarian - things are more serious. So, it’s not telling why he responded that way. I do feel maybe 10, 20% was her & the rest was on him. Not necessarily that he has a valid point. But u reap what u sow. She blab her mouth about intimate dates in pass depressions & so, he publicaly is saying what he wants about her.

    I don't care what anyone says. Yes she may have been difficult to be around. But, I really respect her inner toughness. Cybil comes from a very strong state called Tennessee. That's where Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton, Kathy Bates, and Aretha Franklin are from. People from Tennessee may be pushed. But, they are very good at standing up for themselves. I like how Cybill held her ground and did not take the bait. I think the prevailing wisdom was that the Moonlighting set was tense and unprofessional (scripts delivered at the last minute that did not even meet the required length -- which is why many of the episodes begin with the characters addressing the audience in opening monologies, etc). Maybe Cybill was not used to the rigorous schedule of making a TV show back then, but Willis was no saint. And blaming the show''s failure on Cybill's pregancy was quite sexist. The show handled the pregnancy terribly (it should never have even been written in to show imho). Regardless, Cybill's sitcom was a hit for a few seasons and she and Willis did make amends.

    Ouch. What an uncomfortable interview. I love Cybil Shepherd. She is a pretty woman who is talented. I think, however, she does have deep-seeded emotional/psychological issues that I don't even think today she has really worked all the way through (I'm just a fan who is typing, LOL. I really don't know a thing about her...just sitting here watching her interviews). I hear a lot that people find her very difficult to work with. However, I really don't know how true that actually is. Actor Jeffrey Nordling has worked with her twice and says he loves working with her. No matter what, I like Cybil Shepherd. She is talented and has entertained us through the years.

    • @FirstHillSeattle
      @FirstHillSeattle Před 5 lety +3

      Totally agree with this. I've always been a huge fan of hers (for about 40 years now) but I have noticed over time that she never seems comfortable in her own skin or happy with her life. This, coupled with the fact that *most* people she's worked with don't seem to enjoy the experience, and I think it adds up to someone who has some personal issues she's never really worked through. I even read her autobiography and the way she bragged about her sexual escapades was odd. I have no problem with a woman owning her sexuality and even being sexually promiscuous if that's what she wants, but the way Cybill talked about it seemed like it was either attention-seeking or trying to fill a void that she's never addressed. Kinda sad. But hey, she's done some great work.

      @tarnsand440 Před 4 lety +1

      Michael Dortort who was director producer on Moonlighting and another director whose name I can't recall had nothing but positive to say about Cybil. They said she was tough but also right in her decisions and questioned doing things on set that needed to be discussed. That she was a damn good actress.They said it definitely made for a better show. MD said they only ever had one disagreement which was about dialogue for an episode that required Cybil & Bruce to memorize long Shakespearean quotes. So she complained about it and he told her that's why she was being paid the big bucks and she burst into laughter and apologized. So yes I think alot of jealousy comes into play when you hear negative about a pretty actress or handsome actor.

    The first 10 sec and Connie Chung made a fatal mistake of not getting on Ms. Shepherd’s good side, by casting her in a negative light and giving her an impression of disapproval that was disguised as the impression from “other people” when in fact it was only Ms. Chung herself who spoke that in her own interview, who tried to attack Shepherd while referred to her opinion to that of the mass majority as if by representing them, a vague entity that both gives her an illusion of credibility to say whatever she wants and a scapegoat when she gets fought back, as if attacking her would mean an attack on the people, on the audience, classic journalist tactic. I doubt it will get better from here.

      WRONG, Chung's job is to ask revealing questions that are interesting to the viewers, not be Cybill's friend. If she builds herself up as purely a friend, then she doesn't have the flexibility to ask those revealing questions (which could be tough/awkward questions).
