    Excellent video, friend. I bought this Bose system for $40 at a yard sale because the CD player had this problem. I knew that I could probably fix it. With your help, I got a steal deal! Thank you for making this knowledge available.

      Where did you find the Capacitors? I can't seem to find the 6V ones anywhere!

    Ha. Brilliant mate. Just repaired mine. I was shocked to see how you removed the surface mount capacitors, but I tried it and it worked a treat. Many thanks.

    Thank you for this. I fixed a Bose 3 CD Changer using the same method described here. In the 3 CD Changer unit there are three capacitors inside the control unit (not the five for the model in this video). One 100uf 6v and two 22uf 6v. The process is all the same. It all came back to life 🙂

    Mr. Faiz, Thank you for your impressive Bose repair videos. I just received my Bose Wave that you repaired with CD capacitor replacements and it is working very well. Thanks for a great repair and return shipping price. Your excellent work and a quick turnaround made for a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend you for Bose repairs. Thanks again.

    My Wave Radio CD player from 2008 was skipping. Radio still worked. Didn’t fix it. I bought a renewed Bose Wave System lV from Bose in 2021 for $299. The person I gave the old one to said it just died

    Wow! Very surprising that caps were the problem. Seems like a mechanical problem. I wonder why the caps failed, and why a cap failure makes clicks. Were you a Bose technician? Thanks for the help.

    How much does it cost to fix this issue with the Bose? I just got suckered. I bought one out of state for it home and it's the same as in this video. The clicking noise and won't play but a few seconds at a time.

    I have seen you repair a few of these by replacing the capacitors in the CD controller section . There is obviously an issue with these type of capacitors which are the same as the rest of the capacitors in other parts of the radio . don't you think it would be a good idea to replace them all so some other capacitor related problem does not come up ?

    • @SOSfixElectronics
      @SOSfixElectronics  Před rokem +1

      I don't see those models that came with other issues. And no need to charge the customer extra for the problem that does not exist yet.

    Hey question. So the wave iv is having the same issue oddly. Instead of having 6 fully capacitors in the board it has capciator 100. 47. And 2 10s. It doesn’t have the 22 capacitors it only has Multi-layer ceramic capacitors where the 22s would be on the one you are repair now. Any ideas if it’s only the 4 capacitors that’s have to be changed? Or also the Multi-layer ceramic capacitors?

      no cd does not insert in. Tried on a different radio with good cd board works fine the same cd mechism. Definitely a fault on cd board. But the wave iv does not have the 2 22 capacitors in the board. Only 100. 47. 2 10s.

      @@SOSfixElectronics so I replaced all caps including the ones outside the metal rectangular thing on the wave iv cd board and still have an issue with the mechanism. Don’t understand. Again cd mechanism is working on other units. So what can be wrong with the board if all capacitor replacement didn’t work?

  • @bosewaverocks
    @bosewaverocks Před rokem +1

    One more question the same wave music system in the video one board has 100 cap. 47. 2 10 caps. And only one 22 cap. It has an orange resistor. I replaced the 5 caps still having issues. I’m thinking the orange cap needs to be replaced? It says 336. 10k. 104 on it the orange one

      @@SOSfixElectronics no it’s turning off clock when cd is inserted. Put a working cd board that has the 6 capacitor instead if 5. It doesn’t do the symptom for some reason bose added an orange resistor where on of the 22 cap would be. Any ideas? Wave ii cd model

    • @laidman2007
      @laidman2007 Před 10 měsíci

      Electrolytic capacitors are polarized that is, they have positive and negative pins. You have to keep this in mind when you install them. (smd capacitors, the tiny ones that are flush against the pcb , are not polarized).

      @@laidman2007 Thank you so much for the info. I figured out that the black side is positive and the grey side is negative, we need to match the way as the previous ones.
