- The moose (North America) or elk (Eurasia), Alces alces, is the largest extant species in the deer family. Moose are distinguished by the broad, flat (or palmate) antlers of the males; other members of the family have antlers with a dendritic ("twig-like") configuration. Moose typically inhabit boreal forests and temperate broadleaf and mixed forests of the Northern Hemisphere in temperate to subarctic climates. Hunting and other human activities have caused a reduction in the size of the moose's range over time. Moose have been reintroduced to some of their former habitats. Currently, most moose are found in Canada, Alaska, New England, Fennoscandia, Baltic states, and Russia. Their diet consists of both terrestrial and aquatic vegetation. The most common moose predators are the gray wolf along with bears and humans. Unlike most other deer species, moose are solitary animals and do not form herds. Although generally slow-moving and sedentary, moose can become aggressive and move quickly if angered or startled. Their mating season in the autumn features energetic fights between males competing for a female.

meese are my favourite animal species by far. sophisticated, elegant, graceful, and wild, and carefree. this is why i love meese. if i had one wish it would be to make a friend moose who would then introduce me to their meese clan and perhaps take me in if i was so lucky to be graced by the most amazing mammal on earth. @@MewsOvercastcorrect. They couldn't roar, but they could growl and bellow like crocodiles, crocodiles sounds just aren't loud and big enough so im recording these for a film.

@@MewsOvercast yup most likely they say they didn’t have the voice boxes to produce complex sounds like birds but there were billions of different types of dinosaurs that lived over the span of millions of years all with different sounds so I reckon they could make complex noises

I am terrified of moose, I can stand to see them in the distance, but once one is 15 feet in front of me that's when I panic. Male moose are about 7 1/2 ft tall at shoulder height and weigh about 1,600 pounds. They can charge up to 35 mph, and their antlers are around 22 pounds.

I'm glad i looked this up, sounds like an angry bear to me. I'm camping in the forests in the middle of sweden on a 12 day hike and there’s a chance i will see a moose or a bear for the first time.
I've always been told when I blow my nose that is sounds like a moose call. I finally decided to see if it was true, and I cant stop laughing. It really is, I sound like a moose when I blow my nose. 🤣🤣
