This really makes me miss moose hunting. I was 13 when I shot my first moose. I live in a small village in Alaska and we hunt moose every year to survive because we’d go broke otherwise as the store meats are far too expensive. It’s our village tradition to give our first moose to the people of the village via potluck, so I shot two moose in one week and that was a really amazing week. Some of these shots are really amazing shots. It’s great to see people hunting moose to eat and not just for trophy

Thanks very much for watching our videos.
We shoot a variety of calibers and grain, but 30-06 and 300wsm are some of our favorite calibers and 180grain when it comes to moose.
We prefer to shoot moose in the lungs and heart. Even though our first shots are typically on mark and vital, we try to always put the moose down quickly with a follow up shot when possible, as they can still run off for a good ways before succumbing to the first shot.

Those 200 - 250-yard shots you should be making while shooting offhand easily with or without a scope, a shooting stick, tripod, or any other aid. If you're not it shows a lack of proficiency, preparation and commitment to your craft. Too many segments in this video you're pumping 2-3 rounds in the animal when it should only take one, again that shows a lack of proficiency, or preparation in setting up your rifle.
