I'm no marine mechanic, I drive and maintain marine travel lift forklifts and straddle cranes at a full service marina up here in Cape Canaveral. But because of your videos, I've been able to identify issues for our customers and assist them with repairs... I'm chasing down a power issue on a depth finder tomorrow. Thanks a lot!
You should have shown how is the gearbox rod unhooked before the lower unit is removed (and how it is hooked up again when the lower unit gets put back).
Love the service vids and the podcast channel! Looks like yall got some new tools and gear and would love to see some content on that. What blade did you use on the hackzall that fits in those little holes you drilled on the dash when you were cutting a hole for that autopilot screen?
out in the weeds again I guess you're really did leave that Marina
I have a 1996 115hp Evinrude outboard. My trim works ok but when I reverse the boat the engine kicks up. Any advice?
Why not show draining the motor oil? And more detail on changing the impeller. Should u do a pressure check on the lower unit after seeing that damage?
I always take the top bolt out first when draining gearbox. If you take the bottom one out first then the top one rounds off or won’t come out you can’t refill the gearbox.
Keep up the great work my
Guy very inspirational
why are y'all not at the marina?
Good question 🤔 you all not at the marina
They went out on their own doing mobile work and the CZcams stuff too
Because not everybody are from or in marina lol
So do you know why they put the lower unit drain under the prop versus under the nose cone? I guess they make check the seal and grease the shaft that way.
Can you do a video on Boat batteries. I’d like to hear your thoughts on Optima vs flooded cell batteries. Also lithium and charging with engine alternators.
So how much did that cost? Just curious, cause I got A 300 Verado due for service.
Wish yall was near Georgia I need my boat work on :(
I have a Suzuki DF225, did prop service, pulled prop but couldn’t get thrust bearing off and didn’t want to pry too hard against the housing. Could I put motor in gear and grab thrust bearing with slip joint pliers and spin it to get it too loosen? Would like to check behind it to verify no fishing line and apply fresh grease.
I am working on an old Yamaha 115 and discovered the impeller is melted onto the shaft
If it got that hot do you think the motor would be toast?
Nice field service job Aaron!
what a joy
Wish you were back in the Keys opening your own shop.
Hey there do you guys not typically get the motors warm when doing oil changes? Or was it more so cus there was no water hook up nearby to do so?
Idk if you guys know this trick or not but when I normally do oil changes I’ll punch a whole in the filter then drain it then use a sucker to suck out the oil from the filter through the hole I punched. Guaranteed no mess. Great vids keep up the great work
4.2L Yamaha easier to work on
On those Merc Verados are there any anodes in the engine block that are accessible without splitting the case?
no grease on the shaft splines ???
Just posted a short about line in a shaft seal!
Poppet valve?
Hey Aaron. Send you a email a while ago not sure if I got it right. Can you tell me what it is again. Also I’m in vero currently detailing a yellowfin. Any chance I can get your info for service work?
Like 👍 these videos.
How much per engine for a service ?
Is BAB officially not in the keys anymore ???
Do you still work at the shop?
The oil coming out of the "example" engine looks like tar. Is that normal?
Yes, It’s gear oil, which has a heavier weight.
@@kevincrawford7439 ahhh... It's a gear oil thing.
Vera do’s are a pain in the ass to service
😃👍👏👏👏
