And this is what he says to all humanity: ‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.’” --Job 28:28
He fits in on this team like he’s been here for 4 years. His game is similar to Jimmy’s and I have confidence in him when he has the ball.
Bruh Dat man Game ain't Nothing like Jimmy He's More Like A Prime Version of Manu Ginnonbli...
@@MikeLARRY-rp4ml His game is actually similar to Jimmy's and the only reason you said Manu is bc they both spanish Lmaooo
@@twoine21what I think you mean speak Spanish cuz Jaime is Mexican and manu is literally Argentinian
game more similar to gordon hayward. doesn’t really play like manu or jimmy
@@Atyen7aSpanish as in Latino
As a ucla fan, nothing makes me happier than to see Jaime kickin ass in the league. I’m not surprised at all, at ucla he was the center of attention every game. When he would post up, he would get multiple bigs swarming on to him because he was the best player on the court. That’s not the case anymore in the league and if you put a small on him in the post it’s night, night and if you put a slower big on him, he’s gonna beat him off the bounce. I wish he got a chip at ucla and would’ve if it wasn’t for injuries, but I’m looking forward to seeing him be an all star in the league.
All fax glad his 3 ball is developing as well.
Jaime Jaquez has made a big impression in the NBA. With good defense, exceptional offense and of course an outstanding team player. I look forward to watching him make great progress in his professional career.
We are very proud of this kid. He gives it 110 % of his hard work on the court and the passion he has for the sport. We have watched him play for many years now. When he played on the Mexican Basketball Team in 2019 LIMA Pan American Games and at UCLA. Miami Heat made a great choice. Wishing the entire team much success. We sure miss him in Los Angeles - where he carries out a pretty large following fan base. We wish him only but the best.
“GO JJJ - keep up the good work- God Bless You”

@@SRT_DRE thats tough! lol
Miami, we did it again! We got a steal on draft day. I wish him nothing but success and greatness in his career.
If you’re from the LA area that watched hoops, you knew this kid was gonna be nice. His UCLA jersey was selling out locally.
If he keeps this up its gonna be worth a lot in the future
What I notice and my friends notice is his footwork is incredible
he has wide view, he can see the floor calmly that's why he's this consistent. along with his size, he's a steal draft tbh.
i can't believe that the LA Lakers passed on this guy. He was just a pick away. Very good off the ball and has high basketball IQ
Players like Jaquez and Desmond Bane prove that the NBA's obsession with drafting underclassmen who've never done anything is silly and short-sighted. 'oh, he hasn't been good enough to declare early...' Well, maybe they didn't want to leave school early. We can make a long list of one and dones who never did anything in the NBA. I'd rather have results than potential any day.
Triple J! UCLA Bruin fan here. I think the knock on Triple J coming out of college was that he did not have much of an upside- he played well at the D1 level, but sometimes D1 level points and other bball skills don't translate to the NBA. Also, Triple J would participate in the Rico Hines summer runs at UCLA. When you watched Triple J competing against NBA players like Paul George, Pascal Siakem, and Scottie Barnes you could see those guys just seemed to be at a higher athletic level. It didn't surprise me that Jaime fell out of the top 10 in the draft and I give Rob Pelinka a pass for drafting Hood-Scofino ahead of Triple J. You are right to point out how much better his shooting has gotten and when I watched him at Pauley Pavilion, I can't remember seeing the excellent footwork he shows at the elbow right now. There is a great video where folks can see Jaime training last summer with fellow UCLA alumnus Don McClean. The summer work paid off. Really happy to see Jaime doing so well in the pros.
@gbru he is an underrated athlete though. He got hurt his junior year and had to transition to an old man post up game. Before that though, he was an athletic rim attacker on the final four team. His senior, he was both and I thought the best player in the country. If Clark and Bona don’t go down in the final weeks of the season, I know that ucla would’ve won the championship and JJJ would’ve been the best player on the team
Saying that a young player that is playing well doesn't have a upside was also ridiculous to me....I feel like sport "analysis" say that when they aren't prepaid...its like a cop out.
I do agree that he does not have much upside I see his potential as already capped but his current production is extremely high which has surprised everyone. He dribbles with an unathletic style where you can tell that he looks and feels uncomfortable but somehow it works for him and I say he rides this train as long as he can stay on it.
To be fair, there are not many guys that could catch up with Paul George and Siakem's atheleticism. His shooting was not that good because he played with his bad ankle in his junior season and was always double team in his junior and senior season. With a bit more luck, he would have brought us another national championship banner. JJJ has really made us proud. Go Bruins.
Everytime I watch heat highlights this dude is killing it. I'm like who is this guy? Great player. Controlls his emotions well and acts like hes been in the league for years.
You can tell just by looking at him he has it... whatever it is.

I mean, it definitely helps that he is in a top world class basketball organization that is channeling his strenghts. GO HEAT
Yes!!! The Heat are definitely top world class well said. Many eastern conference titles and Finals appearances in just the last 10 years.
It’s good to see a perceived underdog do good. He has a bright future in the NBA.
Yes, I am so happy for him. He has more in his tank then I realize and he’s showing the professionals that he deserves to be there. He’s always been a hard worker at UCLA and it’s just carried over to his professional career. He’s always trying to learn new ways to be better on defense and of course improve the shooting. Go Jaime we’re all backing you up wishing the best for you.
Im always excited when he plays
Jaime is literally the mexican name version of jimmy
Jaime WICK 😁😊
Jaime Buckets.
He"s Nothing like Jimmy he's More like A Manu Ginnonbli. Prime Ginnonbli.
@@MikeLARRY-rp4ml this is stupid. Manu wasn't a good defender or post player. Manu's bread and butter was transition offense and shooting.
jaime is Santiago or James not jimmy
Portland dying inside watching Scoot turn into a bust. 😅
Don't sleep on his athleticism. He is a lot more athletic than some give him credit for.
Steal of the draft for sure 💪🔥
JJJ is what happens when the Miami heat get their hands on a legitimate 1st round prospect instead of having to turn undrafted players into gold. Vincent and strus became high level starters through miamis development program, it’s scary to think what JJJ, a legit 1st rounder, will become once he hits his prime.
Under Pat and Coach Spo this kid will have the best mentors and teachers in the game hands down.
Not high level starters but they were solid that wasn’t afraid of the moment
Juan wick is a good one haha
The fact that he is Hispanic makes him fit like a glove in the Miami scene. Also Miami fans like their players to dunk which he does with passionate rage. Every Spanish speaker in Miami is going to be rocking his jersey lol
I believe he's gonna drop 30-40 this season
He already did,he scored 31 points
JJJ fits on this team for the Heat
Wish they would start him but Spo uses him as the spark guy off the bench and a 4th quarter closer. Miami always start games off slow and I see him eventually starting later on when they’re healthier.
They don’t start him because he’s pretty much the bench. I think once Herro comes back and Bam gets healthy, Spo will do the unthinkable and swap Herro out for Triple J.
That will be very risky but can probably work coming playoff time or Who knows they probably might even get him at that 4 spot if Highsmith can’t stay Healthy or gel in the starting lineup🤷♂️
Same thoughts on Tyler Herro's return. JJJ got more playing time when he got injured. Personally, I like how the heat plays with JJJ, I just wish the heat gives him more playing time because he has a lot of potential and maybe this is a wild take but I believe he will be a much better player than Herro soon.
@@SRT_DREthat would be wild and although I’d like it, I fear that could mess with herros confidence
@@SRT_DRE … they do start him because he helps out the 2nd unit. If that’s not true then why does Highsmith start? Highsmith is garbage. It’s like when OKC started Sefolosha or James Harden.
Nice video! Although I don't see any resemblance to Shane Battier.
Good video 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 and comments, good analysis
Its the second year when you find out if a rookie that had a good season is about it. Not taking anything away from the guy or any other rookies that are playing well.
Jaquez is a Pitbull out there!😂
Jaime really hustles!
The team kicking themselves the most is the Trailbalzers😂😂😂
They couldve had Jaquez, Herro and Scoot
The NBA needs more Jaime Jaquez' to flourish again.
Having high basketball IQ can take you far. The superstars usually have the IQ AND the athleticism. But players can have solid careers off the IQ alone.
I am very pleased to see my fellow UCLA alum J3 doing so well in his rookie year in the NBA.
I just wish the Lakers had drafted him - IMO they would have a better record right now had they taken Jaime in the 2023 NBA draft.
I predict a very bright basketball future for Jaime.
3triple J is going insaine to become rookie of the year...
JJJ is a 20+ points 7+ rebound 4+ assist waiting to happen. I only wished the Laker picked him first. Go Bruins
WHAT'S CRAZY IS , he's 4 year college player???? that's fkn nuts, when the last time a 4yrs college player came out this smooth?
His lack of overall athleticism kept him in college but his game awareness instincts and feel for the game are top-notch. It's clear he's one of the smartest players on the court and that is where his success is right now. He's also uninjured and playing with extreme effort
Baby jButler jr!
Point forward #solid 🪨 🔥 nation 💯♟️
Age old mistake in the draft. Athleticism offers a safety net in not having to polish as many skills. It can be a get out of jail free card or distinguisher when skills are equal. But in the exact same token there are plenty of superstars (the best player on the planet rn case and point) that demonstrate that isn't a prerequisite. The draft often acts as it is. The same goes with the trajectory of secondary or tertiary strength players when prospects not being able to evolve into stars. Its a fluid line and happens fairly regularly.
I understand scouting knack and feel on different levels can be dubious but teams would be wise to try to discern the safety net of players whose effectiveness is not predicated on their 10% percent outcome as well. I don't know how good Jaime is going to get, but he will be a plus contributor whatever level it shakes out at. And from what it looks like currently that could be an all star or a 4th option are all possibilities. Regardless he will be a solution for winning teams, and is going to play in meaningful games over his career. The guy has cut so much fat out of his game already to synthesize making just good basketball decisions possession by possession. Maybe my own philosophy but you add enough of that type and your job gets way easier and good things happen. Really look forward to watching him grow.
Jaime the pirates jaquez🦾🦾🦾
I am saying again what I know many have said already.... the kid is composed out there. He doesnt play greedy. He can shoot.... He can drive... Low turnovers.. He has a bright future
Many always have low impression on guys who spent full 4 years in college but they come with enough experiences and preparations so that's a huge advantage
Tim Duncan, Olajuwan, Michael Jordan, Jimmy Butler, Dwade, Damien Lillard are among the few who stayed longer in college
@@BLACKSTA361 and all performed amazing in the league
I can't believe the Lakers drafted Jalen Hood over Jaime, he's doing great in Miami while Jalen plays the last 2 minutes when the game is already lost or won
u best believe if jaquez went to LA he woulda been playing on the south bay squad lol
He is Jimmy 2.0.
To be fair, Jaquez was a senior. If you're picking in the lottery, you're drafting for potential.
22 years old is not bad . He’s already contributing to a potential championship team
Jaquez is athletic tho. He has bunny's.

For Da Record Jaquez Is A Younger Version Of Ginnonbli...😮
Jaquez is a Prime Example why NCAA Ballaz should play At least 2 seasons..

Bro the miami heat KEEP doing this.
Bam Adebayo - 14th pick
Tyler Herro - 13th pick
Jaimie Jaquez - 18th pick
No team in the NBA develop players better than Miami
Next Nikola jovic
At this point Miami can draft or give me a nba contract and somonehow make me
Productive 😂😂😂
Settle down there. Although he is exceeding expectations early in his career. It’s only year one. Dick for example is 2 years younger. Lets see after 3-4 years in the league before we rush to judge
Dick may be longer and harder for defenders in the future.
Guy Fawkes can play!

Number 3 of ROTY he’s gonna win 🏆
My friend and I call ham triple J
Jimmy in Spanish means Jaime...
Jaimy in English Jaime in Spanish😂
Lakers should have picked him.... Smh
I’m a UCLA alum and Laker fan and I am pissed that the Lakers didn’t draft J3 when they had the opportunity.
It would have been great all around for the Lakers - local kid (grew up in Ventura County and starred at UCLA) playing for his hometown’s NBA franchise. It would have increased the already high fan support for the Lakers. Like I said I am a life long Laker fan (like Jaime I also grew up in So Cal) and I would have loved to have seen Jaime play for the Lakers. It would have been a win-win situation!
J3 also showed the wisdom of staying for 4 years in college to further develop his game and achieve some maturity to deal with the long grind of the NBA season. Jaime’s maturity and extra years of experience in college allowed him to make an immediate contribution to the Heat.
Triple Jotah!
I don't think he is a steal, honestly the reason he is so good é problably the same as others that go to Miami, i don't think he would work anywhere else, at least in the start of his carrer.
Lakers fans r crying
Triple J is a triple threat
Don't get excited. Ever hear about the Knicks Jeremy "Linsanisty"? Flash in the pan.
He got hit shooting this kid does everything else that kind of stuff doesn’t just disappear like shooting bro come on what are you even sayin
@@tonymorales7010 Would like to see it. I like him a lot.
Lolol I mean to completely different players. But if you don’t know we’ll you don’t know. Lin was just a shooter. Dude plays most the game without the ball smarty
Jaquez jr plays defense can pass and make plays for other players lin wasn’t doing nothing but score
How can you say Jaime is a “flash in the pan”?
He is playing great and is very consistent. He works hard on his game and is just getting started.
In time Jaime will prove his worth and long term value.
Former Lakers fan here until the the godfather Pat joint the Heat where I live for the last 20 yrs and Im asking how in the world d Lakers did not pick Jr? Hood Scofino is not born in LA with Mexican roots , why draft him INSTEAD of a local kid that LA loves? Jr is a superstar already and I can imagine how big Jr would have been in LA LA land. This is beyond STUPIDITY. I lived in LA half my life and there is no logical answer to me. The godfather Pat picked Jr himself and one can see the love he has for Jr. The godfather Pat hustle the streets of LA after d NBA living in a van hustling the pool halls to make money so the godfather Pat knows how in LA only the strongest survives. GM from LA Pelinka should be fired by d way. God bless all of you and protect you all. Peace
he is nothing like shane battier hahaha!!!!!!
jaime is super athletic and his post game and playmakinmg waý better. dumb comparison. watch some ball
Super althetic? Bruh you crazy he slow he’s got a really good game and iq I watch him every game as a Heat fan and love him but he’s not fast infact announcers say he’s got slow moves but they work 🤣
He is literally Jimmy Buckets but with better 3pt shooting
He better not turn into a Kendrick Nunn 😢
Huh
hes 22. thats why he fell. hes not 18 like everyone else who was drafted before him. but tbh, lets see where the rest of those guys are at 22 instead of 18. but thats why he fell.
Ranking somebody lower because they are older is crazy work😂 If anything it should be the other way around💯
@@gabestackson4476people are in love with potential over production. It’s weird.
lol! ranking players is not by age, its about their skills and IQ. look at MJ he went to college first, drafted at age 21.
@@tristangene age absolutely factors in to drafting a player. MJ wasnted drafted at 18 because the league had rules against it. did you see all the 18 year olds who got drafted this year??? y'all are either 6 year olds, or just plain dumb.
He’s not old tho he won’t hit his prime until 25-32 lol
He looked like a drug dealer in a movie but he play like a veteran.
He reminds me of Lebron💪🐐
I don’t think he’s out playing anything. He’s simply a BASKETBALL player!!! Key word , basketball player. These scouts know nothing about basketball. Drafting on potential is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. 90% of these lottery pics, have no basketball IQ.
They drafted him lol he fell to them the other teams faults.
WTF is with his name prononciation??? H'aime H"aquez??????? Its J( like Jay)aime Jaquez!!!!!!!!!! I become angry every time hearing it🤬😈
It's kind of simple; often J in Spanish is pronounced like an English H. Tijuana, marijuana, & Jalapeno are good examples.
@@gbrunot really, the jota is closer to a dutch G than an english H. It’s a guttural sound. But if we are really going to scrutinize everyone for mispronouncing his name we should also comment about the z sounds, the z sounds like a th in english.
@@gbru ok, this I can agree with, but we're not in Spain!
JÁQUEZ = it’s pronounced “HAWK-US”. You need the accent mark over the Á to make the J sound like an H. It’s from the French name JACQUES. His family is from Guadalajara, JALISCO Mexico 🇲🇽. Lots of French descent in that area of Mexico. Many years of history. When the French were kicked out of Mexico “Cinco de Mayo” so they had to change the spelling to make it sound more Spanish.
@@HAWKENTERTAINMENT Ok if try to spin it from a Franch language perspective pls before doing that just write this word "JACQUES" into google translate and listen to how it is pronounced in French! In no way u can hear H in the beginning but more of a J or G
