- The ancient Tamils were sea faring people who have traveled across seas to all the ancient civilizations in the far east and west. Here is the link between ancient Tamil kingdom of Pandiyas and Karak or Kaya kingdom of South Korea. This talk was delivered through Skype on the memorial day of Malaysian journalist Adi. Very true sir I'm an crazy kpopper and korean drama addict .... what startled me is when I first is when I saw my first k drama few words,where similar to Tamil my mother tongue, then I listened keenly even I could follow the sentence pattern ....then I started learning hangul I had no problem in learning because it is as same as the method of learning Tamil.... proud to be a tamilian eventhough I am not a researcher as a common audience I could find the cultural and linguistic connection.... sure there must be a real history behind it. Twin fish symbol exists in Iran as well as per Prof. Kim Byoung Mu. When did Buddhism enter Korea is a research question to be answered yet. According to Ilyon it entered with Heo Hwang-ok. However, in the narration it was told that she came from the land with twin fish as national symbol. I presume in AD 1, it was only Pandias who had twin fish in their national flag.

Ayuta is not reference to Ayodhya. Cos at that time, Ayodhya was called as Saketa.
If u study Samguk Yusa the Korean work, it refers to the Southern tip of India (around Kanyakumari) where there was a place called Ayee kingdom which was ruled by the Tamil King Pandiyan. The flag and coins of this Kingdom had 2 fishes as the logo. This was a symbol Princess Heo carried to Korea.
Also her name tamil name was Sempavalam, which is a 100% tamil name. This is a clear tamil link.

What does the Lion Capital of Asoka symbolize? In the Lion Capital, we find FOUR lions joined together at their backs. Buddha Preaching the Four Noble truths that emphasize the Middle Path is symbolized on the cylindrical wall with the animals Lion, Horse, Elephant and Bull rolling the Dhamma Chakra! The ancient Tamil epic Manimeekalai describes Buddha Preaching Dhamma as Buddha rolling Dhamma Chakra!! Therefore, "the Lion Capital of Asoka" is one of the finest stone work of the Mahaayaana Buddhists that symbolizes Buddha and his Preaching! Thus. it confirms the influence of Mahaayaana Buddhism in Korea!! Does it emphasize influence of the Indians in Korea?

It's all because of Prof. Kim Byoung Mo. He interpreted what Hae Hwong OK said that she came from "Ayuta' as present day Ayodhya. First of all in AD 48 there was no city called Ayodhya in any ancient map. A sailor will say his/her last "port of call" on arrival. What she might have meant was either "Aai thurai" or "Athiyuthu" of South Indian Ports of those days. That might have been written as 'Ayuta' which Prof. Kim interpreted as Ayodhya. He did mention that it was an accidental coincidence of words. Not true to history.
Because Prof. Kim Byung Moo thought so. Historical mistake!

Manimeekalai mentions about worship of pair of foot.Pair of foot made out of timber, syone etc were discovered in many places in the North of Lanka and South India.
