Went from a buzz to a man bun in about a year but with having curly hair, the awkward stage was definitely hard for me
I have more wavy hair and yeah it's tuff
This video is definitely just for guys with straight hair, and I feel your pain.
Thankfully I watched lots of videos of girls with long curly hair to learn how to take care of it and worked for me.
It's been 2 years and 4 months since I shaved my head and sometimes I feel like shaving it again but then I remember the time and the amount of effort I already put in it. LMAO
You say me what are tips for long hair which shampoos and hair makss are needed
The awkward phase is quite hard bcz the hair lenghts are uneven, making ur hair so hard to style and prone to frizz
@@daj7750 lol yeah
A video about medium hair hairstyles would be very valuable, as a lot of friends and myself are struggling
Exactly 💯

Yes
The best way to get passed the awkward stage is to start growing your hair around april/may so by winter you’ll hit awkward stage and wear beanies all winter
Valid as fuck 😂
Bro u exposed me
@@theguy7373 Same
Haha doing the same hoodie shall save me
Perfect, I didn’t know April/May was the best time 😂. I got a #2 buzz Apr 22
As a dude that grew his hair out prior to the lockdowns I can say the awkward stage builds character. One of the parts of earning the flow.
Yessir
Ive got blessed genetics so my hair grows around an inch per month.
I went from a buzz cut (april 2022) to Eren Yeager hairstyle this month (march 2023)
According to me, the best advice to grow out from awkward stage is just let your hair do its thing and not pay much attention to it. Life will go as it is and you won't even know when your hair grew a good length.
Edit- I never did anything 'extera' to my hair, just kept it simple by just using a regular bar soap followed by oiling my scalp.
Ur hair looks so thick, ig it's coily?
Im not sure about my hair type but it is either 3a or 3b and yes it is quite thick
@@wanabrider oh u have coily hair type then, no wonder it looks so thick ^^, the eren yeager bun hairstyle looks good on u btw
Idk how can you tell that half up half down hair look good on me, my pfp is a normal pony......but i appreciate your compliment buddy 🤜🤛
@@wanabrider i thought ur pfp was the hairstle we're talking about Lol, well it looks quite the same actually, also welcome lad❤️🔥
I had long hair. The whole process with cleaning them, using products, taking care of them was to much of a fuss for me. I am rocking buzzcut and I am not going to change that.
Buzzcut is the best cut
Thick, healthy curly hair is the best without a doubt
Lol u have to be patient
Same here
Or just stick to an undercut with early medium length on top like 4-5”
Finally, I managed my white flakes on the scalp and hairfall.
First, Put on hair oil and leave it overnight or at least 1 hour for it to work.
Step 2: Rinse it out with shampoo.
Step 3: Put on conditioner of your choice to the roots of your hair.
I used littleeextra cococonion anti hair fall kit for these steps as it's gentle and organic, and is considered gud for hair fall control.
If you also have dandruff, put on lemon juice on your scalp at least once a week before shampooing and rinse it out about an hour later.
Are you crazy??? Lemon juice will kill your hair
Some tips that i figured out and that caused me a lot of pain while growing hair for about 10-11 months now (my hair is slightly below the ears, like 19-20cm, and i'm continuing to grow it)
0. DON'T CUT YOUR HAIR. DON'T DO MAINTENANCE CUTS. It'll only make your "growing hair pain" longer. It's always easier to cut, than grow. Set your hairstyle-goal and only when you have enough length go to your hair stylist.
0.1 actually, you can cut the sides while your top hair is not long enough. When your hair on the top is like 2cm above ears, you must stop cutting it.
1. if you want your hair straight even in rain or snowy weather, fix your front hair as high as possible with hairpins before leaving the building and hide your hair under the hood, this way it won't fly from under the hood and it won't get any wet and it'll stay straight
2. When you styling your hair with hairdryer with hot air, blow some cold air as a "finishing move", especially near the parting, it'll kinda "fix" the hairstyle in place.
3. After you did your hairstyle with hairdryer, stay for 10-15 minutes at home without putting on headphones or anything that could mess up the hair. wait 10 minutes while hair cools down to its natural temperature.
4. If your front hair curls up, gets oily really early, comparing to other hair, try to use some anti-sweat products on your forehead, for me it caused a lot of pain and a lot of questions like why my front hair got oily and kinda curled while all my other hair was completely straight. It can happen even if you don't notice the sweat
5. Buy yourself a small pocket comb, to fix your hairstyle after some windy weather or smth like it
6. if there's any wind outside, the hair will fly all over your face and will constantly be on your eyes, nose and e.t.c (even if it's not that long, like 14-16cm). Don't try to fix it with your hand or comb while on the street, the wind will anyway mess it up but you'll look like some weirdo that tries to get hair out of his face and it gets back on his face back and back again. Just endure before you get into the building. Or use hairpins.
7. if you see a lot of hairs that kinda get out of the main hair mass, i bet 99.9% is that this is just hairs with different lengths and not split ends.
I don't use any styling products. I use only shampoo, hair mask 1-2 times a week, conditioner, and leave-in conditioner before drying my hair with hairdryer.
I wash my hair every morning (and sometimes twice a day) and always dry it with hairdryer afterwards. And my hair is absolutely fine with no split ends.
My last haircut was in June 2022 (my hair was like 6 cm maybe), and my last side trim was in August 2022
i hope it'll help somebody
Heyo man thanks for the tips, my last haircut was around Dec 2022, took a resolution to grow long hair lol
@@guusgeluk3693 bro if i dont wash it everyday it'll be really oily and won't lay as i want it to. you should wash your hair as often as it needs
btw good modern shampoos don't have that much of aggressive chemicals so it won't make your scalp dry.
@@guusgeluk3693can you please stop whit this way of thinking? have you ever lived in a hot af place, so hot that you sweat every hour of the day and HAVE to wash your hair? Or is your scalp so oily that it ruins your head scalp? I'm kinda tired of seeing people go washing=bad in every fucking hair video
@@DiamondBlade Your roots get oily fast because you wash it everyday. You can try to wash every other day so your hair stop producing too much oil. Depending on your hair type the excess of oil can also be caused by the conditioner. My hair is low porosity and have fine texture, any product with oil make it look dirty much faster. By the way leave in is a kind of styling product.
Honestly ur quite right, my goal is shoulder-lenght or shoulder-blade, and whenever my hair reach the awkward phase it gets split ends and looks awful so i just go the hairstylist and cut the ends, it grows without splits for a while but i did this like 3 times, i have no desire to do it again as it makes the process only longer and painful,my hair don't retain moisture a lot and that's a huge problem for me, i really don't know why except for the waves...

FINALLY THANK YOU I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
I had short hair for 40 years. I stopped getting it cut in January 2021 and I never felt like I had an awkward stage. I loved growing it all the way from buzzed to super length. It's been an amazing journey. Fortunately, my adult daughter has always had long hair, so she was a great resource.
Respectfully you were probably too old to care about it ngl

Bro do u have hair fall problrm while growing ur hair
@@latenightdrive8144 Not really, an year ago i tried to grow my hair out and during that time I used to have hair fall. Now to Prevent hairfall, I use shampoo once in every 10 days, I don't rub my hair with towel, instead, I just gently pat my hair with a towel and let it air try. I don't use any products on my hair, all I use is water, I drink alot of water. I don't wear caps and stuff because even things like these can damage your hair. That's it.
@@latenightdrive8144 we all have hair falling every single day but when its short we wont notice it much, when its longer its more visible, its not like longer hair will fall more or something, don't worry its normal.
Hi, how are you dealing with that now, do you have any advice for someone who is starting too?
@@acexp7k.a679 Hey there, yeah so today it's been 4 months since im growing my hair.
It's going pretty good, Im in the awkward stage right now so my hair look very messy but yeah im not having any huge problem.
Advice? The best advice that i can give you is to accept that for the first 5-6 months, your hair are gonna look bad, acceptance is the key, just mentally prepare yourself for the first 6 months I'd say, that's what I did and this is the reason of why I'm not having any huge problems with my hair right now.
Do not use alot of shampoo, I'd say max to max twice a week, not more than that (I use shampoo once a week). but yes, you can use conditioner regularly.
and most importantly, for the first few months, just control the urge of trimming your hair, it's gonna be hard but it's going to be worth it, that's it.

Great video! I've been growing my hair from a buzz cut (14 months ago) to now a full man-bun and it looks DOPE but I struggle taking care of a long hair, as it requires a whole research on finding your exact hair type, figuring out which products to use, and keeping regular maintenance of the hair... need a video for that ASAP!!!!!!
I have a 2C/3B long curly hair. The awkward stage was a nightmare. Just use a hair band during the awkward stage. Problem solved. Avoid using caps to hide it. I only started using hair bands quite late in that stage. Get the metal ones that look like springs. Looks less girly if you are worried about that. Anyone who wishes to keep long hair, just soilder through. You'll be glad you did.
Finally, Inner Peace 😌.
I already buzzed my hair last week.
it actually depends on your hair type
i actually do 100% the opposite of what you have recommended and i have a great hair, and it looks exactly like the one of lio decaprio.
the thing i do is , i never wash my hair more than 2 / 3 times a month, regular washing will kill your hair, and if it doesn't, then the after wash hair dryer will do, and i only do it with less chemical shampoos.
so if you are washing your hair everyday, you will have to use the dryer everyday, 365 times a year.
it will take my hair 15 years to be exposed to the same amount hair dryer heat.
also since i live in MOROCCO i have access to pure argan oil, so i apply it like 2 time a month to my hair
one more thing (i never consume , alcohol / soda / refined sugar / fast food..), and it happens that my country has one of the healthiest cuisines in the wold, like vegetables and fruits everyday.
and i consume a lot of olive oil / olives.
have a healthy diet and you will get a healthy body
I felt the same way you said in the beginning, I cut it like 4 months ago and it looks clean with a fade I get a lot of compliments on my hair
Fade?

Can you maybe make a video on aesthetic bedrooms for men?
I’m currently rocking pretty long curly hair. Started growing it from an undercut fade 3.5 years ago and went in all crazy without a plan lol. Obviously the awkward phase kicked in and stayed for a long time, but the good part was getting to slowly know how my hair really was and which was the best way to manage it. Seeing it in retrospective now, it was a slightly stressful yet beautiful journey.
Some time in the future I plan to say goodbye to my long hair getting a buzz cut, only to start growing it all again but now with a plan in mind and with all the knowledge I’ve gained.
Bro i tried to grow my hair a month back... But the problem is I have very bushy and a bit dry hair... When I try to grow them.. The hair looks so bushy like my head is carrying some kind of black bush of trees... I want it to grow straight and wavy.. Please help me
Is it hassle, do you get mistaken for a girl, and do you plan to donate it?
@@muhammedzayn27 hey bro, sorry for the late response. First of all I’d say the most important thing is to learn to embrace your own hair type and stop wishing to have a different one, that’s only gonna burden you. Get experimental with it, try different products, try styling in different ways, maybe even go to the barber and ask for a cut that suits you and that is tailored for growing it out. If you say your hair is very dry (as is mine) focus on nourishing it via conditioners, masks, creams, oils, etc, and try to wash it as less often as possible, since the constant wetting-drying process leaves your hair drier and more dull.
@@huntercoleman460 it definitely requires more effort than short hair (if you want a healthy hair, that is), but believe me it’s not a hassle, specially since you end up getting accustomed to the process and it turns into your everyday routine. It might be a hassle at first, before you have the knowledge and experience on how to manage it, but the sooner you put effort into getting to know your hair the sooner that hassle will disappear.
I don’t recall being mistaken for a girl. You’ll eventually get some kind of comment about how you might look feminine or that long hair is not for men or whatsoever. Meaningless words, just ignore them and move on.
And yes, I’d like to donate it when I cut it.

No hair dryer I dry my hair naturally don't comb in wet hair hopefully this helps
Went from a buzz to a man bun clean in about a year and few months. Loved how it looked, hated the maintenance it requires. Drying that shit was so time-consuming. I cutted it all, but I least I got to try it.
I have very long hair, 2 years without a haircut (thanks COVID) just got a trim and styled it because it was a mess. Now I can feel in a shampoo ad ✨
Please make the specific video for all of those
The key to growing your hair is enjoying the process. Don’t just have a set aim of achieving a certain hairstyle. Experiment with it at every length as it grows. You never know, you might discover something you like more than what you were aiming for. End of the day, its just hair. Don’t overthink it.
make a video on grey hair!

i just got the sides shaved and use a hair straightener to give it texture once it started to get bangs
It took me 2 years + to grow my hair out long enough to tie it back into a very short ponytail. My hair grew half an inch a month and i had 1 maintenance trim ( split ends check) a year. I keep hearing about guys who are able to achieve a man bun from a buzz cut in a year....i honestly find that hard to believe but if its true, well done to them. My hair is taking alot longer
I always thought I had straight hair until I grew it out, turns out I have wavy / kinda curly hair. I've been growling it out since July of 2021 and for no reason other then I've been too lazy to get a hair cut and don't know what kinda hair cut I wanna get since prier to growing it out I've been getting the same cut since 2013-14 somewhere around there. That awkward stage was not joke, and nobody talks about how hard it is to get used to your hair touching your neck, I'm still not used to it and it still bothers me sometimes.
Can you do an aesthetics video on how to make the most of being completely bald? I'm struggling with this rn.
I love your videos, thanks for all you do.
Bald looks good if you have a beard. Or have thick or dark eyebrows. It emphasizes your facial features. Being bald with no beard or if the eyebrows don't look dark enough makes the person look like Voldemort

Here's the best way to grow your
Buzzcut to long hair,
First, Know what your hair type is,
before you cut your onto buzzcut
your first haircut should Be 0.5 all of it, and look for shampoo and conditioner for that specific hair type,
Second, wait for 4-6 weeks and
then cut your hair but only the back
and the side, you should do mid-fade buzzcut, the first layer trim should be 0.5 and the second layer is 1.0
don't cut the top or the front, and then after 3 months cut all of it,
1 for first layer 2 for second layer
4 for the top or front layer repeat the process and then there you go,
Shampoo your hair 2-3 times a week
But use conditioner every day,
also everytime you shampoo your
hair put a hairmask onto it leave it for 30 minutes and then go and bath.
Shaved my head😊
A guy with eren inspired Long hair here. My head went from bout 1 inch to longer than shoulder length in almost 2 yrs including occassional trims that cut off an inch or two in every 3..4 months....well Imma tell ou the real deal ..Having long hair is actually tuff especially if you have poor hair genes...luckily i dont..but still here are smthings....dont over-stress about it..shaving clean scalp is good but Ill still recommend shampooing only once or maybe twice in a week at max...use conditioner too...and as our hair grow longer you might see more hairfall and its normal chill cauz hal the time its just that youre hair are longer hence they are more noticable when they fall..and the biggest tip ..LISTEN TO YOUR HAIR AND SCALP...DONT STICK TO ANY NORMS..if they feel dry condition em and use serums and oils as frequently as it takes..if they get oily and itchy quick shampoo more requently...i mean you get the gist..and the most important yet obv fact...let them grow and learn to style and rock every phase..get trims in 3..4 months..know as they grow out theyll get more irritating especially in summers and stuff..so know everything b4 you commit but stilll as a man you shud see your hairs full potential atleast once in a lietime...kudos and cheers to your hair journey..kbye

I'm thinking about trying out a wolf cut. I got a buzz cut earlier today, because I just didn't know what to do with my hair.
I have really thick hair. My hair probably destroyed 2 or 3 hair clippers/razors when I was younger. That's also why I always kept it short. I just thought that it's too thick to style, but now I just got too annoyed with a buzz cut and want to try to change it.
If your hair is that thick, go to a good hair stylist and ask them to layer your hair. It thins it out and gives it more texture
@@Wacharis thanks for your recommendation.
I'm only at like 4-5cm length so not that much to layer atm. I got an appointment at a hairdresser in my area next week to get my sides cut short again.
I'll probably going to ask her regarding stuff I should think about while growing out my hair.
braid is best for energy hair style
would it be possible to use the advice in this video to obtain a more androgynous/feminine hairstyle?
I just fuckin dont cut it, man lol but I did start with the ideal look/goal tidbit the video starts off with so that was my ultimate motivator. The key is to just let go of caring (not caring for yourself, but the care you have for other people's opinions and viewpoints)
Decided to get a wolf cut as a 9th grader idk if imma get resticated or not but yeah im brown so it's gonna be difficult too wish me luck!
Very nice video, could you also make a video on curly/wavy hair?
I just don't have an end goal. I grew it out for 10 months and i just kept it but my Mine looks mostly like a male Korean wolfcut
Bro's I spent 20 years of my 23 more or less shaved, buzzed or very short. It's been two years of growing it and I know this now. It's just flipping hair and it's annoying when it's not in a bun, and it's almost always in one. 10/10 would grow again.
My hair grows out really fast so I was always comfortable just shaving my whole head completely and starting over, I've done it so many times because I never knew how to style it.
How long is your hair?
Do I wash my hair with just water in between days of shampooing? Or should I not even get the hair wet?
I have a middle part and i am trying to get long hair and i am going to get a haircut. What haircut should i get for the sides and back
Just buzzed my hair and this video popped up.
I’ve been growing my hair for 5yrs. When straightened, it can reach my belly button. Me having curly hair naturally, i can say the awkward phase is permanent just because it’s curly. 😂 I tie it up in a bun or ponytail with some leave in conditioner, I think it looks good.
