Have you ever been to Nashville there's guys with talent as big as Jays and then some and most if them are stacking shelves at Cosco to pay the bills, doing open mics at night and if there really lucky ( as well as extremely talented) they may get a spot playing for tips at one of the many live music venues in music city.

I'm laying in bed watching this song as my band plays it with me being drummer...I love it, I'm 62 years old and had never even played it or heard it...This is my third open heart surgery with one more minimally invasive, all successful but with some pretty good consequences. Anybody in healthcare that is experiencing things like I have for the last 9 days, I want to take my hat off too and tell them to keep the faith ....The healthcare workers incredible people, think about it every time you go to a hospita,l drive by hospital or any doctor office and tell them thanks....thank GOD, Van and Jay✌️💪🌅

Jay, great interpretation of this marvelous tune. I have a great Van Morrison story for you. I lived in Marin County in the early 1970's. There was a great club in San Anselmo called The Lion's Share. They had the usual known headliners on the weekends, but on week nights you could get in for a dollar and a half for amateur nights. The club was half-filled one Tuesday night, and the various singer-songwriters were doing a fine job. After this one act finished, the club owner went to the mic and said "Van just called, he'd like to drop by and work on a few songs, is that all right?" Cheers, of course. Van showed up with three pieces and did two hours of those Astral Weeks themed tunes he did back then. The audience was just amazed and grateful. A little week-night surprise.

My Van story, working in Copenhagen while he lived there. Listening to a casette of his music as I drove across some of the parkland, but started getting a stupid echo. I fiddled, turned the casette off, and the music continued. He was giving a free concert over to my right
in the park.

@@hjonm9730 I grew up just round the corner from Van, and I am sure we listened to him and one of his early groups playing at seaside resorts. I think post-them and to Veedon Fleece, he was at his purist and most transformative. I fear - after that - I only see a loss of the purity, occasionally re-emerging.

If your gonna do a cover make sure you play that git and use more then the 2or3 chords that you used..idc if others are giving you kisses and any musician will notice the lack of chords played. We want the young ones watching to not cheat and take the easy route. My opinion only but a classic deserves the totality of the song played right!

@@timmywager9818 What you want to throw a musical technical penalty flag on I could do with your use of spelling, grammar, and punctuation. This guy is not out to be the next Van Morrison or kick your ass on American Idol. This is someone like one of my kids who simply embraces a lot of classic artists and songs like this written long before they may have even been born and likes to share it with new audiences. I think Van would be okay with that if it's not stealing from him and helps sell the original and other recordings.

I was born and raised in the North back in the 70s and 80s. Van was the man. I never understood it till I was in my 30s. This song is decades old, and if it was released today, it would make sense. Awesome version.

I've been a fan of Van Morrison for a long, long time, and Into the Mystic is my favorite song by him. I was actually hesitant to click play on this because most people who try to cover it mess it up in one way or another, but I'm glad I listened.
