I can't count how many times we made love with those songs playing in the background. She passed away 3 months ago at age 70, after 47 years of marriage and nearly 50 years together. When I listen to Van Morrison now, I cry tears of grief, and happy tears of memory and gratitude for the years we had.

My dad took me to see Van the Man live at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in 1972 , it was my first concert, I was 15 years old! I am still hooked on his music.
Your dad was a good man. 6 years ago I took my then 12 year old daughter to see Kathy Perry as she wanted to see her. She put on an ok show. 3 weeks later I dragged her to see Van Morrison, he was really good that night, the band was feeling it, it was one of the best Van Morrison shows I’ve been to. On Monday after the show I came home from work and she had pulled out all my old records, and was so into the mystic. It’s one of my proudest moments as a father.

I discovered this beautiful song in the movie immediate family with Glenn Close and James Woods. This song played during a very touching moment between a teenager wanting to give up her child to a childless couple. And this song connected the young girl with the older women played by Glenn close who desperately needed the be a mother. A very touching scene backed up by this wonderful song. Beautiful and it still stirs my heart.

Saw Van in concert 2 days ago at Newcastle and he was fabulous as ever. The young lady who was the backing singer was also a talent in herself - a fantastic voice. At 76 years of age, Van the man is still doing it :-)

Saw Van in concert 2 days ago at Newcastle and he was fabulous as ever. The young lady who was the backing singer was also a talent in herself - a fantastic voice. At 76 years of age, Van the man is still doing it :-)

I saw him for the very first time about 9 years ago then another time somewhere in between and then this latest time and he was every bit as good, if not better than the first time. He comes out, does his thing then goes away - no messing about and no small talk in between.

My most favorite Celtic 1st cousin Van the Man Morrison voice is as fresh and young-sounding as it was back in the later 60s and early 70s, that is all down to the clear fresh air that Van inhales during his walks through the mistic on his journeys through the Emerald Isle, this man is blessed with giving healing with his voice and words.

Best moment of my life - seeing Van on St Patrick's Day in Belfast 2013 - our 5th anniversary. We came from Australia for that and my now hubby carried my engagement ring in his shoe all that way haha! Less than 250 people in the grand ballroom at the Europa Hotel - A M A Z I N G
I saw Van in 1972 at a small theater in Monterey, CA. His voice sounds as good now as it did then. He was very grumpy that night but still put on a great show. What a character........

My favorite uncle was a huge fan of van so I have a soft spot in my heart for Van Morrison too,what a legendary singer/songwriter!
Morrison is a genius, period. He just gets better with age. I was just listening to his wonderful Hymns to the Silence. Absolutely brilliant!
Maybe as a performer, but as his first proper album, which was recorded in his early 20s, is my favourite album of all time, I would say he inevitably got worse with age!

As a musician and songwriter myself, his wisdom, poetry and mysticism not to mention his melodic genius are and have been a staple of my love of music and my spiritual evolution in this lifetime.
