    I've watched 95% of all sports anime in the market, Haikyu is the only one that is so relatable. Being a former varsity athlete at my highschool. haikyu portrayed all feelings and anxieties that real people feel specially the high school athletes. The wisdom of the coaches are also on point and top notch. They give words of wisdom that you can give to real athletes and normal people.
    I've met people exactly with the exact attitude and mindset like yamaguchi
    I've met people who's like Hinata, the monster attitude he has.
    I've met people who's exactly like tanaka, the simple mindset of him that is his advantage because being simple minded helps him avoid negativity and overthinking about things.
    I've met people who's exactly like tsukishima, who first took the sport lightly but got hooked later. Ahh i cant explain it much but I've met almost all people who are like the characters in haikyu and that's is why haikyu is the best. KnB, Dia no ace, and other sports can't really portray realism like haikyu does.

      ???? daiya no ace is 100 times more realistic than haikyuu. the lack of character struggles haikyuu has for its characters is insane. the series takes 0 risks in character writing. the pacing is too fast, not enough buildup for anything. character development is done in a couple of episodes. daiya no ace builds everything up, makes the characters lose multiple times, shows character struggles for way more than just a few episodes, and then develops characters both mentally and physically. I don't think you understood daiya no ace all that much. it has too much depth I guess. haikyuu is so simple so it appeals to more people but theres is nothing that stands out about how it's written

      @@Killerqueen2000 if the thing a story is trying to convey is lost to most people then the story didn't a good enough job of it, or the story isn't meant for most people. Nice that you feel that way about the daiya no ace, but just know that people feel exactly as passionate as you about Haikyuu, so be mindful of your words. Haikyuu conveys its themes beautifully, the technicalities of the writing don't matter to me and most people, if they feel something about the story speaks to them, then it has depth.

    I want to sincerely thank you for making this (wonderful & insightful tribute/ analysis). I had watched half of it yesterday evening and resumed the other half this morning. It's very hard for me to cry ( I almost can't cry) and let go of my painful emotions except in therapy sessions with my therapist. However, I had tears in my eyes during this part 46:54 to 48:17. Your words on failures along with the visuals of players crying and disappointed at their failure, I could feel a tiny part of my own extreme emotional turmoil, anxieties, deeply rooted sadness, regret and guilt from failures, toxic shame and lots of other buried emotions. Thank you. Also, after 48:17, It's so painful to watch our beloved karasuno team members crying and vowing to get stronger while eating. That also hits like a truck.

      I'm glad it had such an effect on you. I had hoped to be able to emphasize the importance of these kinds of themes, beyond what can be stated in words, by taking advantage of not only clips from the series, but the fantastic soundtrack by Yuki Hayashi & Asami Tachibana as well. Everything about the anime works so well to compliment Furudate's story, which, whilst not wholly original, stands above the rest of its genre when it comes to having these heavy and relatable themes sneak up on us and hit us hard. Whether it's sympathy or empathy that is brought out of us, being able to bring about either is always a sign of success; not just on the part of the story, but on our own emotions. Thanks for watching

    One suggestion: In my opinion, the background clips don't need sound if you're talking over them. You could just mute them. Also, there's plenty to use not from the anime as well, like screencaps from the manga, or pictures or footage of various people involved with the show, or clips of real volleyball games. I do like your use of the show's great OST, but it might then be good to turn up the audio track with your voice-over so it's easier to hear you.
    I should say that taking on a project like this is super commendable and impressive, and for that alone I am impressed. Plus it's always great to see someone else who loves this series as much as I do.

    This is actually such an awesome video, when I finished "To The Top part 2" I felt pretty down because it seemed like I had found my favourite anime so early into watching it, the fact that I just wanted more, and that no other series gave me the same sort of enjoyment. However, watching this video has cheered me up a lot, I sincerely enjoyed it and it felt like it was able to conclude all of my feelings for the series. Furthermore I thought the quality was amazing, I think you are the most underrated creator I have ever watched I looked to the views expecting to seen 1million+ and was disappointed not more people have watched this as it is a truly amazing video, I really hope more people get to see it and keep doing what your doing!

    • @henryojlk
      @henryojlk Před 2 lety +1

      @Ozunoda that would be very cool, I really enjoyed the longer format and you might struggle to get that out of To The Top I just hope the next season comes out soon, having read a bit of the manga imo the anime is better, maybe Jump Festa has an announcement 🤞
      Also don't underestimate how different it looks from a viewers perspective, the content was so interesting that I didn't notice anything that seemed "rough" although admittedly I was not looking for anything like that but I do think the content is the most important thing and you 100% had that nailed. Also altho ofc I enjoyed this video when I said keep doing what you're doing I more meant in general, I haven't watched any of your other videos yet but if they are half as good as this one I'm sure I will thoroughly enjoy them!

    • @Ozunoda
      @Ozunoda  Před 2 lety +1

      @@henryojlk Woops, I think I just accidentally deleted my own comment. Ah well. Just so anyone reading doesn't get confused, I think I said something like "Though I tend not to make more than one video of the same subject, I'll admit I was tempted to, when it finished airing, make an equivalent video covering To the Top. Maybe, instead, I'll do something similar once the anime has finished adapting the manga. This video was a bit rough around the edges, so if I could more cleanly cover the best bits of character development and themes from To the Top to the end, then I think I'd be worth it."
      And in reply to your reply of that deleted comment: I agree in thinking the anime is better than the manga, not even just in it being animated enhancing the immersive flow of the action, but all the sounds that accompany those visuals, which manga can't even begin to replicate (although mangaka's do, sometimes, try by using onomatopoeia). If I were to make a new Haikyuu video, that would then become a part of a critique of To the Top, and even subsequent seasons if the trend continues, where they dropped the ball a little bit in creating that flow; not to say it was bad, but the new production members were clearly adjusting to adapting the manga in a new style, and the result wasn't as near-perfect as I consider the first 3 seasons to be.

    • @henryojlk
      @henryojlk Před 2 lety +1

      @Ozunoda as I mentioned earlier I haven't watched a huge amount of anime, only 10 days worth and I actually thought To The Top was very good too, particularly part 2 and this might be because I haven't watched enough to become critical of it yet, although I did notice the change in art style but I will pay attention to the flow more when I rewatch it.

I have so much respect for your work here, and I'm especially pleased that you devoted a section to the magnificent sound tracks, openings and endings. You had articulated my very thoughts and feelings towards this Anime. Character interactions, the show's hard-work focus, Tsuki, Oikawa, and especially the music. GOD, THE MUSIC.
    I was particularly down and overwhelmed one day, too much on my mind and feelings get in the way of what I have to do. A clip showed up in my recommended, the last point against aoba johsai 2. Oikawa points, and makes an ungodly set. I had to get up and go to a private room to continue watching the clip cause I started uncontrollably crying. It is just what I needed to hear when so much pressure, work, and impostor syndrome encompasses me.

      Oh for sure. They're a 'perfect the fundamentals' kind of team, with a little spice from Kenma's strategies, which is why I like them more than some of the teams that rely on one or two 'special powers' to make it far (and even then Nekoma does gain and use some specialties of their own, just integrated differently). They pose as such a great lesson for Karasuno in that regard, who might otherwise not have seen the value in working as a solid complimentary unit.

The story is so simply, but the delivery is everything, the characters are wonderful, the music is top notch. Its dripping with love in its production. The first time I watched it I was constantly on the edge of my seat not knowing what would happen but fully invested in everything happening. Future watches were a lot more relaxing, but still so full of tears and joy. I still cant even watch clips without telling up with sadness or pride.
