Beyond being a superhero, you get the opportunity to really bulk up. Like, seriously. You have to be in the best shape of your life if you want to do any superhero-ing. These actors completely devoted themselves both mentally and physically to their roles and the results are astonishing. Robert Downey Jr. not only transformed his body, but he managed to pull off an incredible career comeback. Chris Pratt was most known for being the pudgy, funny guy on ‘Parks and Recreation.’ Kumail Nanjiani and Paul Rudd are two more comedic actors who hit the gym and ended up significantly transforming their bodies in remarkable ways. And the list doesn’t end there! You’ve also got actors like Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Chadwick Boseman. All of them were already in great shape, but they had to put the extra time and work in to reach the superhero level. Brie Larson even trained by pushing a car down the road - yes, a CAR.

Hemsworth actually got too big when he was training for Thor-he no longer fit the costume! They had him re-focus his workouts to bulk up more evenly so they could shoot.

Ironman is the only “iconic” marvel character , mainly because the first Ironman was an actually well made refreshing blockbuster.
Kevin Feige gets all the credit for Marvel's success. And rightfully so. But Jon Favreau deserves mucho credit as well. He laid the real foundation. He "got" comics in a way most people in the industry don't get, or even want to get.
Iron Man was indeed refreshing. That is the perfect word for it. I re-watched it recently. It isn't perfect but it still holds up pretty good.
But I would say that the Hulk and Captain America are certainly iconic Marvel characters. And Spider-Man is iconic too. But not sure on his Marvel/Sony status....doe he count?
The "only?" GTFO, SPIDERMAN, HULK, WOLVERINE, THE LIST GOES ON. DC has only ONE likable character, Batman and Marvel will own him too very soon.

He literally WAS in a fight for his life. Its such a shame that he eventually lost it cuz he had an even bigger career ahead of him than he was already experiencing. Having lost my dad, aunt, 2 uncles and grandpa to cancer as well as my mom and sister both beating a bout of it I know too well how someone can seem perfectly healthy, able to work on cars, do yardwork, go to the gym, etc. and then suddenly they take a turn for the worse and are gone in the blink of an eye.
