I love seeing articulate tractors working in the field I’m not too familiar with that particular tractor but it was really cool learning about it and seeing at work
Alright!! Let's go! Love me some Agco content. Keep praying they will make a new toy Agcostar. Maybe one day...
It’s on my wish list in 1/64 😁
Agco makes quality equipment. Back then and now. That's a nice seed bed for planting.👌🏻👍🏻
Very true. Great products.
Farming the way farming was intended. No gps just good old hands on operating. I love old iron
I like getting to feature these classic 4wds.
Ours has auto trac but it isn’t working right now because something to do with satellites, so I haven’t used it with autotrac yet.
I’m just now big enough to reach the clutch and push it in all the way so I’m working the auger cart and chisel plow so far.
I have one of these on my farm. We use it for our various tillag jobs whether it’s cultivating, chill plowing etc. I love having it. It’s plenty comfortable, especially for its time, incredibly spacious cab, plenty strong with its 425 horsepower, and very fun to drive, and not too expensive buying it used. It’s the biggest tractor in our farm by a long shot. My biggest complaint is that the handles on the ladder are in all the wrong places, but you get used to it.
When you talk about such things as the superb comfort and very spacious can that's typical NA design
@@bradleamon4466 it’s at least really comfortable for something from the 90’s and it really does have a pretty big cab
I'm pretty sure this is the same AGCO STAR that's in my area. I was a kid when the farm bought this tractor and it was always one my favorites to see in the field. It was an impressive machine to see back then and still is today. Thank you for getting this on film!
Hello! That is a sturdy oldie without electronic sensors problems...
The AGCO STAR is a good solid work horse. Very bare bones compared to other tractors of its era.
@@bigtractorpower 👌
@@luisnunes7933 pretty sure they have electronic engines actually
@@nellsonstout7001 No way! This is old fashion mechanical technology for the drivetrain, despite a few electronic components (draft and transmission parameters control).
Lot of turbo whistle and that’s with a muffler. Straight piped this thing would sound insane. Not too many of these around. This family has taken good care of this one.
I drove by an 8425 with the N14 and straight pipe working. I didn’t even need to roll down my windows or turn down the AC to appreciate it😂
Good One!!! These aren’t very plentiful!!! Nice find! The turbo-till is an amazing minimum tillage too as well.
What a great looking tractor
Great to see a video with a tractor like this in it. Drove a 2-150 one time and wasn't a fan. John T
Another great video! I looked at buying an Agcostar several years back but they’re not that common around here. It would feel right at home with all my other AGCO family of equipment I use. Haha.
They are good bare bones tractors. Every AGCO farm should have one 😁
Awesome! I love all these older classics you are putting up lately. This is another very sharp machine for its age. I'd love to know whereabouts in southern MI that is. I'd love to go by and maybe get to watch that thing at work in a field sometime in our travels.
Come into central Indiana and you might see ours
Love the video. Great to see a AGCO Star working ground.
The AGCO STAR is a neat part of the company’s history.
You better wanna see more tractors keep up the good word Jason Brad from Minnesota
Fantastic sound, no smoke, only real power from engine 👍
Thank you for watching.
Good video.
Love the White paint scheme
Silver paint with an AGCO Allis orange and Massey red pin stripes on the decals.
Cool looking tractor. I never seen an acgostar in the field.
I love seeing these old tractors in action but curious what is the fuel efficiency against it's modern equivalent
English is not my first language so please excuse me. Not just fuel efficiency, but the financial point also. We can praise the modern machinery over the top, but we can all agree that a modern tractor will likely not get 20+ years old. Yes you can take good care of your gear but with all the electronics in them I doubt it. Reliability is key in modern times.
@@Imholze this is my thoughts older machinery burning more fuel must still be more viable than an expensive modern machine that breaks down repeatedly with deff issues and electronics high price components and Maintenance
@@sircaptainchaos2388 that's exactly what I was trying to say. You hit the point 👍🏻
exactly why the older tractors are bringing high dollar at farm auctions.
@@dankreoger611 I live in the Northern Red River Valley, older tractors sell for a good deal only if they are low hour, shedded tractors, sold to collectors or hobby farmers. Successful farmers here have no time for old machinery, they are inefficient, likely to break and need hard to find parts and are not GPS ready. GPS tech not only saves fuel but seed and fertilizer as well as year round data on all that. No farmer wants older equipment, usually retrofitted with soso GPS gear. I grew up farming, as soon as we started bringing in good money we bought all new equipment. I cannot imagine any farmer I know who does well going to an auction to specifically buy older equipment. Why not use press drills too? How about a tractor with a V8 diesel? Lol. Then you put straight pipes on it right guys? So many comments from people at 10,000ft.
Still getting it done. It appears to just being playing with that setup.
Gorgeous old articulating tractor.
Thank you for watching.
That is a good looking rig.
The AGCO STAR is a cool looking tractor.
Great vídeo Jason.
Thank you for watching.
The agco star is a nice looking tractor👍😁
It is a stand out tractor. Bare bones horse power.
That's quite the cool old tractor and man he's getting a lot of work done in a hurry, beautiful scenery there also
Thank you for watching.
Use the right implements like the ones we use (I don’t remember the exact size but they are plenty big) it pulls it like there’s nothing behind it.
👍👌
Amazing tractor very strong, 💪😁 greetings from burley idaho
The AGCO STAR is a solid tractor.
@@bigtractorpower yea is amazing
As someone who has one of these tractors, I can vouch for these statements. Very strong tractor, very cool tractor, very fun tractor, very big tractor.
Raise that grain the world needs it Americans can't afford to eat
These tractors look great. 😎
Did you get these different colours when new?
Remember seeing photos of these in Allis-orange and MF-red, or are them painted afterwards?
I think one of the 2 may have been factory, but the rest aren’t.
Love you guys 🥰🥰😍😍
Thank you for watching BTP tractors.
AGCO as a group are missing out on the articulated tractors. Yes the 1167 MT and its twin Challenger are the most powerful. But I'd like to see an articulated MF or Fendt. Dreaming, right
AGCO wouldn't know how to manage or market a 4wd articulated tractor if their company depended on it. Take the tractor in the video, buy back the good old Massey 4wds, 1)don't paint it red and call it a Massey, 2)don't use the heavier more reliable Massey axles, 3)don't put 3 pt hitch, 4)forget pto as well, despite pto becoming popular on 4wds during the AGCOSTAR's days. Did the same thing almost with the MT900B series, they offered no pto or 3 pt hitch either, not until the MT900C series. So unfortunately it's a dream for AGCO to do anything worth while in the 4wd articulated tractor market, I love my Massey 4wds very much but AGCO just isn't a 4wd articulated tractor company like the others.
I should add they also went the cheap route transmission wise with the AGCOSTAR, put a cheap semi transmission in it rather than a Twin Disk or the old Massey transmission, this is why no AGCOSTAR has a factory pto.
@@Zero01k nailed it bro
Every day i run an Agco Allis 8775 doing cattle feeding
Very cool.
There is a small amount of these over here in Australia does anyone able to tell me if they were available with tpl and pto
She has a bit of a power hop to her..........
Trator monstro chou debola
Great power very nimble tractor for it's size too bad more were not made with 3 point and pto thanks again Jason
The AGCO Star was bare bones compared to John Deere and Case IH at the time. In some ways it was good in price point compared to red and green but it lacked some key features that hurt sales. Still a very good tractor.
More? Try any😂
Agreed. I would love to use this as our auger cart tractor but ours doesn’t have a PTO so we have to use some old Case IH from the 60’s or 70’s. I forget it’s model, but it’s certainly not the nicest tractor that we have to use for auger cart.
So does agco make majority of tractors and just brand them differently?
It’s hard to answer that because AGCO can’t keep their marketing consistent to save their lives. Massey was the flagship brand, then Challenger, then Fendt. I don’t even freaking know anymore. The amount of cross branding they do is insane
Looks a lot like a Massey Ferguson.
It's a Massey Ferguson 4000 series without the Massey rear ends and Massey 18 speed transmission that was in the 4000 series
It evolved from the Massey Ferguson 5200. McConnell built the 5200 and sold the design to AGCO in 1994.
@@Zero01k false on all counts. Those 4000 series transmissions were a partial powershift. This is an Eaton-Fuller road ranger HD
Did you get any footage of the AC in background also?
Yes it is an 8070. Stay tuned.
@@bigtractorpower nice!
✌️✌️✌️
😁👍👍👍
I use. Massey hay equipment and a 4609 Massey tractor among other on my farm
Very nice. Great tractor.
Don’t these tractors have a Eaton transmission in them and shift like a big rig semi?
Yes, same transmission and shifting you'd find in a semi
Yeah they have an 18 speed roadranger, but you don’t ever wanna shift it under load
Similar. You don’t shift them, like a semi, it’s more like a STS combine from the 2000’s. You just select the gear with it, but I don’t remember if that how you use it on the road or not. If you have a farm and are looking for a be tractor, put this one into consideration. I have one and they are amazing
👏👏👏👍👍👍💪💪💪🚜🚜🚜
First part, no cultipacker, last part, cultipacker. Different fields?
Two different years and two different fields. These Friday 5 minute videos are to highlight tractor footage that has not been used because limited clips were filmed to make a full spec video.
