We think the wildlife was truly the stars of this episode. What's the most memorable animal encounter you've experienced in the wild?
Probably 7 years ago in Glacier National Park when we saw a pair of Wolverines. Seeing a Grizzly and her cubs is fun also and we've been blessed to see three set, two in Yellowstone and one in Glacier. Oh, almost forgot the Wolf and her pup in Yellowstone. Awesome video. Is it that warm in Canada or was this video shot earlier in the year? ? Safe Travels.
Lifestyle Overland I was in South Africa and came across a viper.
The mosquitos in Scotland during the summer on a trip there two years ago. Ooooo...and a mahousive dragonfly that was 5/6 inches long !!
It wasn't in the wild, but there was a family of foxes that lived in the roofing shed of the lumber yard I worked at ... they would sit on the roof of the shed and watch all the customers.
there was also a huge squirrel that sat down next to me at Wedding Rock in Fort Bragg, CA and ate a nut, I just sat there really still and ate my own lunch
BTW- I always look forward to seeing your next adventure!
Your daughters look on her face when you first started to eat that piece of bacon was Priceless ! LOL Good going kids enjoy you travels and be safe !
Ah the many facial expressions of Caroline... they never cease to amaze us as well :D
Beautiful trip. We made a similar one with rent RV. In september 2018. In river Teslin bridge we saw the most amazing aurora borealis in our lifes. Even more spectacular than Lapland. Congrats dude! In this dark hours of pandemy I recall those great moments in Canada.
It is pretty amazing how fast bears can climb trees. Great video, thanks for dedicating the time to show us the beauty of the northern frontier!!
Thanks, Tim!
The 15 thumbs down(And future thumbs down), are probably from people whom have almost zero dollars in their pockets or bank accounts to make trips and or videos like these. Or possibly have miserable family lives, enough to want to "SHARE" OR "PROJECT" some of their psychological negativity on to others. Remember it's always about Money, or Love/Caring type of negative outbursts which drive these thumbs down.
Okay enough Negativity for one day. I would like to mirror and say that, this was top notch Videography. Thank you for sharing your family's Adventure through the open highway, Nature, and above all, "The LOVE you have for LIVING LIFE!!!"
We just like to imagine they were in too big of a hurry to hit the thumbs up and missed ;)
As you were going down the road in Whitehorse, my brain was saying "Take a right here... The Yukon Brewing Co. is just down that street". Mmmmm Yukon beer.
We actually picked some up from Walmart on our way and it was amazing. So many great mirco brews in the North country!
@@LifestyleOverland Yes so many. I was up there this last summer too. My growler hit up a bunch of places in Canada & Alaska. Some yummy stuff up there.
With the tax on Canadian beer it was $16.99 a 6-pak at Yukon Brewing. Over-all beer is fairly cheap in Alaska....
Thanks for the video.
a two dollar coin is a toonie and a dollar coin is a loonie coming from a canadian... safe travels👍
Ah! Didn't know about the Toonie... lesson learned!
Hello, congratulations for the videos, they are sensational, this kind of outdoor life is a dream, here despite great natural beauty we do not have the structure, the education, nor the security to carry out these tours, especially with the whole family, a shame , you are the inspiration for us, me my wife and my little daughter love to see your videos! Greetings from Brazil !! 🇧🇷
Thank you so much for the kind words! So sorry you're not able to enjoy your area the way you would like but so glad we can inspire and entertain you and your family!
omgggggggggg your daughter is the cutest!!

Good looking video, has a good feel to it. Good views from above with the drone. Keep up the flying, its looking good. Thank you for sharing
Your vlog is one of my favorite. My family and I will be heading back lower 48 in the Spring. Not our first time through ALCAN highway but first time with kids and rooftop tent. I got few tips from your show. Thanks a lot. I knew when I leave the military we will be doing more overlanding. Be safe out there...
Thanks for the kind words! Really appreciate it! Maybe we will see you on the trail some day.
Such a delightful family!
I absolutely love your video!
The video quality is fantastic, (I even like the drone footage)
the music choices are great, and this all reminds me of my most cherished
childhood memories, the roadtripsand camping trips we took when I was little!
You folks really make me feel like I'm along for the ride, and oh how I wish I was! You've had me laughing and crying, and just plain enjoying myself like I haven't in a long time.

Awesome, living a dream thru you guys every week! Thank you!
Thanks for riding along!
Loved the subtle change in the intro! Keeping us on our toes I see. haha
Glad you liked it. I think it's fun having sneak peeks flashing in the intro 😉. The soundtrack got an extra splash of epic too!
I lived in Alaska for 37 years. But always found the Yukon more attractive and enjoyable to spend time in...Also the cassiar Hwy and Alaska Hwy in northern BC. Loved the whole area!! The rain starts coming at the end of the summer, then it's snow pretty soon...
Brings back so many memories growing up in the yukon.
Another great video! Thanks for posting.
Thanks, guys!
Man Your video quality is 110 percent pristine every time 👌,
Great adventure loved the video my friend 👍
Thanks, Jesse. We really appreciate that!
Yep, I know “The Look!” I’ve experienced the terror many times! 😂
It can melt the will of man... ;) or, any follow-up smart-aleck remarks...
I needed this today.
This trip is the exact trip I want to make. Keep it up guys.
Glad you enjoyed it! New episode coming out in a couple hours!
Great job. Thank you for sharing..."here we do" 😉
Thanks, Chuck! Here we doooooo!
Awesome! Loved all the info!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great Videography!!!
Really appreciate the feedback!
Let's see more of Caroline's motivational speeches!!
We really enjoyed boon docking up there. We have a 25 ft 5th wheel and we stayed in the best areas. Sweet. I learned how to darken the camper for sleep. Love your videos.
We started hanging blankets in the tent to do the same! Glad you enjoyed it!
Love that waterfall shot at the beginning. I've really got to get a drone one of these days.
That was one beautiful set of falls!
I own both 4x4 pick up truck and a 1200cc adventure bike and seriously you gave me more inspiration
Wonderful City Whitehorse, the three years I lived there were amaizing.
Great job on that Kevin, Sarah is quite the amazing cook.
Jason
Thanks, Jason!

These video's are the best I've ever seen of the Alcan highway. The drone footage is specially awesome
Great video, thank you!
Glad you liked it, Gilbert!
Another epic vid! I really like the updated intro.
Glad you liked it!
Amazing videos....thanks for sharing your family adventures. Makes me want to get out there more than ever. Gonna start next summer here in the NW. Also I love the music and awesome cinematography.
Thanks, Jon! We really appreciate your support! We hope to make it to the PNW in the summer!
So cool seeing the sign behind Caroline in the sign forest that read “Visalia City Limits” that’s where I live! Keep up the great work.
Hey Bryan! That's so cool!
Video Quality is Superb!!!!! Another great vid, editing and content numero uno!
Another awesome vlog. Love the new intro!
Hey Mike! Glad you liked it!
I don't know why, but everything tastes better when you are in the bush.
I bet the camping out there in the Yukon is so awesome 👍🏻👍🏻
The Yukon is simply incredible!
New subscriber here. You guys have a great channel! My second episode. I drove the Alcan back in 1977 from southern Illinois to Fairbanks. Went to school at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. Great, great memories. Anyway folks I’ll be watching your adventure!! Safe travels.
Wow, I bet that was a fun drive back then as well! We loved it up there and wouldn't mind a return trip one day soon!
Nice trip, I like the 4 Runner!
Thanks!
Hello!!! All the way from Alberta!!
Great video, also great drone shots that you have on your video! Liked and subscribed.
I just added cinnamon buns and coffee to our bucket list.
That bacon had my mouth watering!
Oh we are ready to drive back for more!
Beautiful
Thank you!
The cub cute, the sign awsome I want to see it someday.
Great fun following along. It's a memory lane trip for us - we did much of the same route in 2017 but in May and June. No mosquitoes that early in the season. And the sticky buns are awesome.
Thanks for watching! Zero mosquitos would have been awesome!
@@LifestyleOverland May and June was ideal. Weather was great, we ended up at Denali for a week, got to see the top of the mountain several times. Top of the world Highway is awesome. Dawson is worth the trip. Denali Highway was incredible. So much to see. We will be headed back from VT for another go - and probably plan on most of a summer to do it. We thought Watson Lake campground was great but we were the only ones there. You quickly appreciate how wonderful the provincial parks are when compared to many in the US. Love following along. Safe travels. Your video work in incredibly well done. I appreciate how much work goes into taking and then editing all that video. Well, well done.
Shawn, thank you so much for the kinds words! We really appreciate the support! Sounds like you had an epic trip up there. We can't wait to go back!
Hey guys, that’s awesome trip your on. I did that route solo in 1997 and it was awesome. When you said tok I thought you were talking about tok Alaska. It’s a few miles west of the Canadian border. Anyway I just subscribe to your channel because I like the way you do your videos, I feel it puts the viewer in the seat next to you guys, as if we’re with you on your adventure. That’s my take on it anyway. Will be doing this trip again but hopefully not solo this time. Thanks for the video.
Thank you, its so beautiful
Thanks for watching!
Nice ... Beautiful
Hi another great video thank you for allowing me to travel with you and see your great country it was good to see a kangaroo sign in the sign Forrest Have a safe and happy New Year
Thanks for riding along! We actually run into some of your fellow countrymen in a future episode... Stay tuned, mate! 😉
Great Series.. Enjoyed my first day off in a month watching the videos.. Was -40 up here in Northern Manitoba too cold to go out today.
Amazing
Thanks!
Man, you are prepared, and what a setup you have. If there ever is an apocalypse, then you will be ready.
I hope you had a chance to drop down to Skagway from Whitehorse. While the town itself is a cruise ship town, the drive down is jaw-dropping.
Its been 40 years since I have been up there. So much is the same but things have grown.....except the trees.
Tuk, fun place, well, it's all great. We had up to 300 miles between gas stops and signs warning that "Aircraft" have the right-of-way. Turns out Bush Pilots have to pee also. Yes, there were small gravel turn-offs specially marked for Aircraft on the side of the "Highway".
Love the new intro Kevin!
Thanks!!
I subscribed after watching this video!
Welcome to the channel!
great video and gorgous country
Thanks, Roger!
Our bacon in the UK is just like that its awesome glad you enjoyed it.. US bacon is processed from a different sized body and different part of the pigs body.
You must stop at Braeburn Lodge, The absolute best and largest Cinnamon Buns anywhere. Its a must stop, you will find it on the North Klondike Highway
WOW is the word! I've just discovered your vlog and I'm loving every minute of it. Great landscapes and awesome traveling set-up. Have you ever considered shipping it to Australia and taking in the sights of Oz? I'm sure you'd love it. I did a circumnavigation including a trip in to the center to Alice Springs and Uluru with a mate of mine the year after we finished school. It took us three months and it was a real adventure.
True life styles
keep doin whatcha doin... and be safe in the great white frozen tundra😁
Will do! Thankfully the filming is done so we have flown south!
Another great video! Watching these videos really makes me want to get a reliable vehicle and get out there. My plan is to make a road trip up to Alaska during the winter.
Do it! Start planning and make it happen!
@@LifestyleOverland I already have the plan. The problem is I just got a good job and moved out so I just gotta save up :)
There ya go! Hope to see you out there!
the river you named... I never knew it was a real place... Sandy Graves... I know you are confused.. Look up "Breakfast in hell" by slaid Cleaves. Great song about logging...
Another Great video! Always a pleasure to see you guys in your "Natural Habitat"
Glad you enjoyed it! I'll have to look that up...
Pumping you fuel then paying for it isn't OLD SCHOOL.....it's trust and honesty....it's Canadian!
I think the stars of this episode were those shoes, of course, and seeing that the popcorn maker really did get used--I heard that contraption never got used.😃
Earth! What a great place. What else is in this big Universe? Very nice.
Right?! We love it!
Chena hot springs is a lovely place to visit
Missed it this time around but plans to return!
Canadian Bacon Eh! With real Maple Syrup!
It was SOOO good!
You must have talking about Braeburn Lodge cinnamon rolls. Worlds best. 👍🏻. Great video.
Good camera stuff. Keep it up dude
Thanks! Will do!
Yukon is on my bucket list and to see Dr. Oakely yukon vet
Love your work, Just moved to canada, Planning to get a 4Runner 😁
Did I catch a slight change in the intro music and scenes? Looks great as always! Journey on and hope you guys remain healthy! Blessings.
You sure did! Thanks for watching!
I enjoy ever video
Thanks, Ernie!
Love the video!!! Makes me want to trade in my jeep
Thanks! We're a bit partial to the 4Runner but the Jeep is a great platform too!
I just love trucks and big cars. A lot of Jeep owners love just jeep. I would love to get a taco or a 4Runner as well as keeping my Jeep!
Besides your account, your Lady will never forget this experience ever. I am very impressed of how you 2 mature grownups have chosen to get along with each other is impressive, like 1850 to 1888, and your just doing it today! Can you please send us a Ball park Number of Dollars from start to finish ? Is 10,000 high or low, only Cash Layout
Also a Short list of things You and Wife would do different with a "redo'? I am hooked, Allison and I have Just jumped. in.
Thanks! Wow!
You’re a lucky man Eric Church. Great lifestyle and absolutely beautiful wife to share it with. Good on ya!
Hahaha, I've been called that a few times... thanks so much for following along!
So watcha think of Canada, eh? We're not much different except we don't see the need to carry guns. And we don't have accents. Just kidding. I'm enjoying your videos. You're an excellent editor and I like the commentary. Your little girl is a riot and Sarah must be the most patient wife and mom, ever. Greetings from Vancouver Island.
That new intro thou ;)
Glad you liked it 😉
...why did I just watch 22 minutes of tourists driving through my home town and back yard? Huh...must be some good editing or something. :)
...
Good work on the video! Really good quality sound and picture, nice cuts (overall)! I'm glad you guys enjoyed the Yukon. I absolutely love it her, personally...my parents moved up here the month before my 10th birthday. That was in '79. A 6 month stint in Lethbridge, Alberta...and two years in Vancouver...neither compares to the sheer joy I get from just living here! :)
...
See you next time (there's always a next time if you've been here; once you go to the Yukon, it never leaves your blood). ;)
On the road again, just can't wait to...... if you dont sing that song before you put it in Drive ever day of a trip, then it doesnt count.
All this time i was wondering what was in that bag 😂
Dude you are funny...(10:00)hahah....peace
Good thing I didn't put it on my head... Tongue would knock me out trying to get after that bacon!
I do not know if you already showed how you have installed your devices in the front, but if you have not done so, could you please show us?
By the way, excellent the idea of mentioning that they are cooking with the trailer. It is a very important information for those of us who are thinking about the possibility of one of those.
The closest thing I have is this video on the center console tablet mount: czcams.com/video/WZjNYsk4by8/video.html
Maybe a Lifestyle Overland Cookook would be an idea. I'd buy one :()
What a great video. thanks for sharing. Is this trip in spring or later summer? Thanks.
Another fab episode from the bear family. Kit wise, What have you found that exceeds your expectations and what have you found fell short of the mark ?? Hope you're feeling better and have a great new year 🎅☃👍🌠
Thanks, Simon! That's a tough question... we've got a lot of reviews in the works for 2019 that will reveal how gear performed on this trip. For now I'll leave you with two items... the Over-Performer would be the Prometheus Design Werx Clothing we received for testing and the Under-Performer would be the Trasharoos... so there ya go for now! BTW, finally over the worst of the flu!
Lifestyle Overland the trasheroo....really ?? I'll pop a pic of mine on your FB account. Glad you're feeling better...just in time for the new year !!! Lol 🎉🌠🍾
Yep, junk. If you get more than 9 months out of one you're doing good. We've been through 3 of them.
Lifestyle Overland 3.....what are you doing to them ??!! Lol. I suppose heavy everyday use will account for some of that but 3 in 9 months....not good. Are the straps breaking or the material failing ?? I always have a heavy duty clear plastic bag (empty 15 kg dog biscuit bags are the best I've found) inside mine too so keeping recovery stuff dry, or muddy stuff separate, or kindling/ logs dry so reducing any chance of snagging. Helps spread the weight inside too. 😀😀
You kids are living life to its fullest. Good for you. Your daughter is so cute. Carpe Diem. 🍻
Y'all really need your own A&E channel or Discovery. I mean what your doing is Amazing I'm living my life of something I've always wanted to do threw y'all. You really should send them a video or contact them
Thanks! We've considered that... but the networks want more fake drama than inspiration. We like telling our own style story :D
5:10 look out for that bear behind the camera ;-)
Long live Canada!!!!
In bear country you’ll ned a portable electric fence around your campsite. Less than 2.5 lbs for huge peace of mind
