    hi Jesse, what do you think 3dsmax in the future? Blender is great for everything. a very significant improvement for the software, and also for its users. what do you think?
    Are you going to switch to using a blender?
    I know you use unreal too. I use 3DSMAX and Unreal Engine

    Hi Jesse!
    Excellent tut again.
    I would love to know a way to turn the space between the spheres into a mesh?
    Would it be a case of hiding the original mesh and doing a Boolean to subtract the spheres from it? Thanks

    • @addamski
      @addamski Před 3 lety

      Also How do you get more control over the size of the spheres, I'd like tiny ones, large ones and a lot in between. It will not let me go beneath 1.0 on the min, and above 5.0 it doesn't really change anything?

    Hello Jesse, thanks again for this tutorial ! Would it be possible to simulate a flow of foam with this method ? I've set "continuous" to "object to vdb" and "vdb to particles" but it doesn't do the trick...

    • @RedefineFX
      @RedefineFX  Před rokem

      Hey, no, for foam you’d want to use Phoenix. The sphere packing won’t work for animation

    Hello @RedefineFX I have a problem. I create a sub material but when I add the Material ID it doesn’t show the colours. Is there any way to fix that? Amazing videos btw you are amazing!!

    • @RedefineFX
      @RedefineFX  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks. Could be your material not being enabled to "show in viewport". Could be your viewport display settings. Could be your tyflow display operator not set to "show material". That's all I can think of rn

    Hey Jesse, if I wanted to make the spheres grow into the shape over time, how would I do that. I tried several things without success!

    • @RedefineFX
      @RedefineFX  Před 3 lety +1

      It’s trickier than it seems, I think it has to be done with custom properties. I’ll dig into it when I have time

    Do you know how to export the vdb file?

    • @RedefineFX
      @RedefineFX  Před 3 lety

      There’s a VDB export operator for that, but the spheres are just regular meshes in this case, so you can use the standard export operator

  • @AndreDeLonge02
    @AndreDeLonge02 Před 2 lety

    • @RedefineFX

      likely your scene scale or object size is too big or small.

    How to make the spheres scatter?

    • @RedefineFX
      @RedefineFX  Před 3 lety

      Don’t know what you mean by scatter here. You can just add a PhysX shape operator to make them fall down

    • @jhill3d
      @jhill3d Před 3 lety

      @@RedefineFX Maybe he means add some slight movement to the packed spheres, inside of the VDB so the shape is maintained.
