In this video I transform two sets of darts from previous reviews. This time around it's the Red Dragon Amberjack 14 darts and the Darts Corner Squadron darts. A bit of paint removal and a repointing changes everything. Enjoy the video!

Another cool video!Those amberjack darts turned out nice! I can’t believe the paint came off so quickly. I had a set of brass darts I soaked in 100% acetone and it took more than a day, and lots of gentle scraping to get the paint off! Definitely an improvement though. Thanks for the post! USA! 🇺🇸
Funny how some darts are a bit more stubborn. The Squadron's needed a bit more soaking and a toothbrush scrubbing while the Amberjack paint fell off after 7 minutes.
I enjoy some painted barrels but these had to go. It really is incredible how much better they look with just a classic tungsten look. Now you can dress them up in any color combination of flight,stem, and point

I really enjoyed this video and here is my opinion. For the squadrons there is no question that the light blue paint had to go. 100% improvement there. Now for the Amberjacks. I am kinda partial to orange and black color combinations. After the paint strip you said the grip had improved which is always a bonus, however I think the dart with the original paint looked better to me. Don’t get me wrong it still looked great after the paint strip but for looks alone I would have kept those original. Great Video! USA
I don't mind the Amberjack's with paint. My only issue, and I mentioned it in the review, was that they used too much paint. Stuff was caked on thick. Thick enough to interfere with the grip.

No problem with the paint removal but I would prefer something a little flashier for the stems and fins than just plain white
The squadrons remind me of a Phil Taylor "torpedo" style barrel.
Also, I have to say I agree with you on the Blade 6. It's wayyyyy tooo SOFT! I actually hung my Nodor Supamatch back up recently and it's a big difference in my opinion.

Worldwide; really nice video. I usually keep the paint or coating on my darts, but normally change out the points or put the 180 nose cones on. Like you, I don't like that lip on the front of the barrels; it does tear up flights. The darts look much better after you removed the coatings. Thanks and keep the reviews rolling.

Thanks! I've seen a few people paint their darts with model car paint or hobby paint. There was a set I saw on Reddit Darts that someone painted about a month ago that looked amazing.
Awesome video and it is great that people see how easy it is to make an ugly coated dart into an amazing set, I did this with my match darts(winmau wildcats) they had horrible blue and red coating on them and now they look awesome in natural tungsten. USA 🇺🇸

Great review WW. I have removed the paint from a couple of my sets too, namely the Designa dark thunder (once the black paint started chipping) and the Target Agora Verde which started shedding straight out of the box (and obviously cos they were green) 🤣🤣🎯🎯

Thanks for the heads up on paint removal . Any painted dart set is going to suffer after a while in use , so you can get more life out of the darts by removing the paint . For me it is the consistency in feel rather than the worn out looks that is important . I am wondering if a vapour blast would increase grip a bit ?
I am so stoked I just got a set of 23G Red Dragon Krypton's as my first set of darts! I love the grip level on them and a big fan of how they look. took your advice and put some trident 180 nose cones on them. I am now messing with the idea of condor AXE's or the cosmo flight system. The options for these things are overwhelming.
I have some AXE flights on the way. I'll be using them for a Wright review. Should be interesting. But yes, the options are overwhelming. So many choices

Massive improvement to both sets "AmberFittons" made me laugh too. The Delta tri fins look great as part of the set up

I brought the squadrons and stripped the paint put 36mm points on and they are amazing darts

Both sets look nice in their new get up, but I've always been partial to orage/black combo (hometown colors...go tigers? eh... lol), probably why I own so many Amberjack varieties.

Ive done the same to a few sets…. The last one was the Daryl gurney darts from argos…. Not the original or the special edition daryl gurney darts but the cheap £30 ones…. When i went instore to order/collect they was reduced to £15 😃😃😃😃absolute bargin…. 54mm long and 6.2 mm wide 👌🏻

Hands down an improvement in both cases. I had no idea those tri-wing flights existed, I wonder what Cosmo was thinking when they released them, maybe less drag with a more stable flight shape? USA
They didn't last long so I don't think it was a great seller. On top of that it was just too much overhead for the shops to carry them
just got the amberjacks. I love em and will strip the paint off of them but I'm a little concerned about increasing the grip. But anything beats that paint job ; )

I'd say you have given a lot of people an idea to change that crap looking set of darts they never use , both turned out great, just wondering if you just removed the orange paint off the amberjacks? They might have looked great with just the black paint
what does the back of the gladiator board look like? buying two more boards for league and i like the easy adjusting of the winmau boards
Plain ole backing. I added the Unicorn Rotolock things to it. Not as good as the Winmau but they do work okay

Yes, the paint comes off very easily on all Amberjacks

I have the Amber jacks but not too happy with the grip now I’ve seen the paint removed off them I’m thinking of doing the same thing looks better
You are right, the dartscorner one was far too much blue, I guess you need to be scottish to love this much blue. But I wonder why did you removed all lines I could imagine with two lines at the end it would be a nice set of darts. Similar with the RedDragon, too much black but the thin orange line at the front looked cute, may I would have removed the painting too, but I would have keeped the thee lines at the front.
I wonder what you would think about my idea. I would called the dartscorner one: Scotsman because of the one blue line, the RedDragon I would have called Captain, because of the two black and one orange line at the front.
In Swissarmy a Lieutenant has one line.
First Lieutenant has two, Captain has three.

I’ve stripped the paint on all of my sets except one. The Amberjack ones look real sharp with that storm point. I know you don’t like silver points but silver would look great on that set…my opinion.
I agree the silver would look great. I would have used them but I only had a spare black set.
I tried using acetone on my Red Dragon Dragonfly’s and left them 30 mins and the acetone did not even soften the paint let alone remove it

The One80 Gladiator 3 and Winmau Blade 5 boards are the best for 'often playing darters'. ...in my opinion.
100% agree. After having the B6 hanging up for the past 2-3 weeks and then switching back to the One80 you realize just how soft the B6 is.

Oh hey... GREAT question. I got up to check but realized I repointed the AmberFitton's. I guess we'll never know. I honestly couldn't imagine it being any more than .01 grams difference. If that.
@@WorldwideDarts as a cyclist, I have experience with painted and non-painted bikes and the weight difference can be up to 300g on a total of 1400g for a frameset. On the darts there is of course less paint, but I think it could be surprising how much it is. So my guess would be 0.2g
