- The sad truth of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC pass the Booster Pass! I love Mario and Mario kart so much, I truly believe Mario kart 8 deluxe is the best racing game of all time and it makes me really sad that I don’t equally love the DLC :(

@Critical Del: I thing the reason he said that Shroom ridge is a worse version of Toad's turnpike, it was because Toad's turnpike is only better because of the Anti-gravety mechanic that is absent in Shroom ridge, and that should not be the reason to judge a track to be better over the other. Also the video above is more likely a Troll, just to fuel the Nintendo is bad at doing thing MEME and it gets really old and anyoing, they did that Troll MEME since the launch of the Nintendo switch, even and they did it with the pay online services, when it gets improve they keep adding video with false proof that it is a bad improvent.
I think he meant in terms of visuals and MK8 implementation, Toads Turnpike is superior to the Tour port of Shroom Ridge. But Shroom Ridge is def a better track than TT. Too bad the developers didn’t know that. 🤦♂️

Yeah such a weird complaint I’ve been seeing is the escalators. Not only was it like this in the MK7 remake, but I have a feeling they did it to make it more immediately apparent which route is the better one. People just like to complain because this is one of the dumbest arguments I’ve heard

@@Trevmoose05 I think it's more to do with it not aesthetically matching a Mall setting. In Mario Kart Wii, the escalators were what you'd see in a regular mall, so it was neat to drive on them. By making them slanted conveyer belts, they lose some charm that the OG had.

The phisics of the escalators were terrible in the Mario Kart Wii, and it's not like there's not ramps like this in real life malls, In my opinion it's so much better this way. But the none moving cars was kinda disapoiting.

Such a bad review. Saying none of these tracks stand out is such a bad take. You go BACKWARDS in Paris Promenade and Ninja Hideaway has the most alternate paths.
"We all knew" who is "we" here? Some discord server? I don't know who this "we" is and what the public opinion on the DLC is, this is the first time I've ever heard criticism of it, the only other opinion I've heard of it is from Ryukhard (might have misspelled it) with praise.
They're making it sound worse than it actually is. It improved a lot from the trailer, and I'm happy with how it is. I'm not even one of the people complaining about Toad Circuit or Coconut Mall, I actually like them.
@@gibby6325 Ninja Hideaway is definitely the best course in the game, and it might be the best course in the series. I can't say that for sure as I've never fully played any other Mario Kart game besides Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U.

@@someobscuremusicchannel yeah i dunno why i commented that. first thing that came to mind in the moment. it's not the consumer's fault that something they purchased (or pre-ordered) wasn't up to the standards they expected -- like mk8 had some fantastic tracks in the initial game, and the dlc was just as brilliant. obviously you'd hope the quality would be just as good if not better in the deluxe version of the game, and yet sadly nintendo's just not putting in the effort with the game. i think the issue is that people continue to buy it regardless, perhaps due to nostalgia or dedication to the franchise it's from i'm not sure, so nintendo still sees profit in porting content, so they'll likely continue to do it. thus why i've not bought the booster course pack and don't plan to.

The escalators are a part of the mall and fits the setting, and while some people don’t, a lot of people really want to see the art the team has made, considering Mario kart 8 is a spectacular looking game. That’s why people are mad. Some of these map, especially the your maps and new maps, look amazing. But not nearly as great as the normal game, which while it reasonable, it makes it a bit underwhelming. And when we’ve seen Nintendo rip the charm out of every series, it just adds to the pain, no matter how little.

Tour has the closest thing to a New Donk City map. Plus what would you even do on New Donk City? It's just going to be a worse version of the City Tracks in Tour. Also even though Toad's Turnpike did start the cars on the road thing, Shroom Ridge is way better than some Figure-8 with some easy obstacles.

I agree that some of it was underwhelming and I'm not one to overly defend Nintendo but the only real complaints I can see are having to pay for the new stages in addition to the online, but that's more of a problem with the online system, which is obviously atrocious. Also maybe there's something to be said for not updating the visuals of the courses, I haven't noticed too much wrong with the new tracks but I'm just not the kind of person to notice that in any game lol. Should've just stuck with the point that the new courses are very visually impressive rather than trying to bring in other arguments that undermine your opinion by making you seem nitpicky

Remember everyone, this DLC pack *DOUBLES* the amount of courses you can choose from for 50¢ per course.
The original dlc on the wiiu had 16 tracks that were not only amazing, but also breathtaking with their graphics. Poeple who want Nintendo to do more than that are completely in their right to. Plus the og dlc had new characters and new kart customization options.

I don't get how your complaining about the smallest things like textures and the ramps in coconut mall which were in mk7 but nobody complained there. Nobody complained about the MK7 textures in CM because it was on the 3DS genius. That's like comparing N64 Choco Mountains textures to the MK64 version and trying to bring it up as a point.
Besides in 2011 nobody cared about Mario Kart graphics until MK8 which made people expect MK9 to have gta 5 graphics for some reason.

It's not complaining, it is criticism. You are, in this comment, criticizing him for being critical, calling it complaining, thus making you a hypocrite. The only thing in this video that COULD be complaining is the last part where he says New Donk City should be in it, (which depends on how it's presented, if it's just presented as a suggestion and not a downside then it's not complaining) but everything else is critiquing what is already there, criticizing what he bought with his own money, and you're suggesting that he is being irrational for doing so. And even if you don't buy it you can still criticize it for being overall worse quality than the courses from 8 years ago... YES 8 YEARS AGO that look fantastic to this day. Maybe some people don't care about it but personally I'm a huge stickler for artistic integrity, and the people at Nintendo clearly aren't anymore, and for me, it sucks the life out of what should be a fun game.
For me it’s more of enjoying the experience of these new maps rather than focusing on the textures and slight changes they did. Things change when remaking old assets and they probably just didn’t have all the development time to do extra minor details for these maps. In the end I’m just grateful we are able to experience these new maps and they’re just what I expected 😇
People complaining about his take on a course is all I need to know. You’re all just bitter about his opinion, but his arguments remain solid. Nintendo is seizing on fans’ nostalgia over past nitro courses, disregarding the quality of the product they are offering, which becomes more alarming when you look at the quality of the original DLC from Mario Kart 8. While it’s true that there are other factors to consider in order to rate how fun some of these tracks are, mobile-phone graphics in a console game are inexcusable. 2014 courses looking better than 2023 ones, but these people keep swallowing everything that’s in front of them smh.

the problem with modern mario kart games is their oversimplicity. take wario’s goldmine for instance: basically rainbow road junior in mkwii. now? there are railings and the minecarts give you a speedboost. Or invincibility frames: getting hit by an item is no longer punishing- you have like 4 seconds of total invincibility after hitting a banana. Explosions no longer send you high in the air, you just flip and keep going. I could talk about the fact that you get 2 item slots and can pick up items while using bullet bill/star. And it’s not just mario kart: look at smash ultimate. It’s a fantastic game, don’t get me wrong i love it, but things like removing wavedashing and wavelanding and viable dash dancing can make it so flavorless imo. I don’t like this trend that nintendo games are following.
Wavedashing was never intended at all. Nintendo has always been like this, at the end, their target audience are kids. Its hard to balance competitive and casual audience when having mechanics such as wavedashing and wavelanding

Online servers are skill-based matchmaking, so they could enjoy somewhat competitive play with people who also don’t want to master wavedashing.
