I met a girl the other day and she told me that she didn’t have any social media purely because she doesn’t want to have to deal with the pressure of liking everyones posts and trying to be cool by showing what she was. It blew me away and I actually just took a moment to think about it and I was instantly attracted to her. Definitely motivated me to focus on myself 💪
Keep going my brother! 💪🏻💪🏻🔥
Probably met a transgender 🤡🤦🏻♂️🤣
I had dudes tell me I was lying as if it’s something soo unbelievable. Like what?? I get most people are probably on social media but don’t accuse someone of lying when it’s actually a healthy thing to do. It’s like saying “I don’t believe you don’t eat fast food cuz everyone does.” 😂
Loneliness is the price to pay for improving yourself, and I don’t regret deleting social media one bit.
You are so righ. I feel you have to be in the "zone" in order to be included, if not is like you never fit in.
Indeed 😊 @@tatibynati
I deleted social media too. Now I am playing keyboard, reading, swimming, gardening
“You will never hear someone say, my life got worse after I deleted social media.” I’ve learned it’s such a damn black hole honestly.
I like mistery, it’s been 7 months now without social media and I’m living my best life offline, happily…..I love this life🥺

Before it was weird to have it now it's weird if you don't have it.
Social media is cancer

the joy of missing out >>>>>
Just deleted all of my social media and I already feel way better!! 🎉
It’s been 2 years since I left social media. I have no regrets at all.
I got sick of people gossiping, drama, negativity & people faking their lives & friendships and sharing everything that should be private or craving attention with provocative pictures & selfies.
A number of things I realised:
1. People who added me as “Friends” didn’t really care about me. They were “So called Friends” just to increase their friends list.
2. When people were going through their hardest times of anxiety, trauma and upset, I went out of my way & made an effort by helping & supporting them. But when I was going through my hardest times, including anxiety, trauma and stress. The people who I helped & supported never reached out to me to help or supported me even when I struggled. Everything has become one sided.
3. Certain posts or videos get blown out of proportion or completely taken out of context even if it’s nothing negative.
4. People lie about the amount of friends they REALLY have. Who in the REAL world has 100s or 1000s of friends WHO??
5. Communication is very one sided. The same person had to make the first move to start a conversation as the other person doesn’t make an effort themselves or just can’t be bothered.
6. People lie about their lives, they only show the positive side of theirs lives which doesn’t show the real truth about the person. You can’t tell and don’t see if someone is REALLY depressed, upset, isolated, lonely, feeling suicidal or what’s actually going on in their actual lives. Even if people post how they really feel, people don’t always care or not interested.
7. It makes people fake and insecure. It’s not just school kids or teenagers in schools, colleges, universities or workplaces doing it, but adults as well are also being fake & insecure, especially managers.
8. People compare themselves to others just to get loads of “Likes” & comments.
9. Social media has increased loneliness, isolation, anxiety and depression which can be severe.
10. Due to social media and the increase in technology, it’s causing destruction & destroying peoples lives in the sense of their is no sense of unity, community, love and nobody wants to help each other. If they see someone doing something constructive and productive and they’re doing well in a community or society, people will laugh at them in an act of ignorance, and cannot wait for them to fall down. Social media is dividing people, not bringing people together.
11. Having a proper conversation or being real is considered not normal and people think it’s creepy. People don’t like having real conversations.
12. It’s made people to be narcissists, self entitlement, ignorant, prejudice and bullies.
13. People can say things or make comments that are abusive, racist, sexist, ignorant, prejudice, misogynist, homophobia, xenophobia, discrimination openly online, rather than to your face.
14. I have seen Boys & Girls take provocative, selfies / pictures to get attention from so called friends / strangers, sometimes in a negative way, for example, woman having their boobs / chests hanging out, body image, men & women showing off muscles, six pack & more.
15. With social media & the young generation with regards to friendships, people feel that if they add someone as friend request and they accept it, or meet someone & they click with them they automatically think that’s “friends for life” people need to realise that’s not how friendship REALLY works.
Friendships are & should always be a 2-way street. Real friendships would make the effort to support & be there for each other through the good times, fun times, hard times, sad times, upsetting times & more. Communication & making an effort should be equal on both sides. Not the same person who always makes first contact. The other person should also make an effort too.
We need to ALL learn the skill set of when we suffer from stress, anxiety, trauma, facing problems & more, that we should reach out to our friends or professionals for help & support, NOT social media.
16. Our young generation has grown up addicted. They have been addicted to mobile phones, alcohol, drugs, social media & more at a young age It’s very sad.
I never had TikTok, Twitter or Instagram. Glad I didn’t sign up to any of them. Facebook was the only social media platform I had and it was recommended to me back when I was in my teens.
I only use CZcams as I can look at interesting things like cooking recipes and motivation videos and music videos of festivals & concerts and more fun stuff.
I enjoy going out in nature walks, bowling listening to music and learning new hobbies and watching movies.
Since leaving it’s been the best decision of my life. I enjoy life more, I can now enjoy doing the things I do or want to try without being judged or told what to do without being made to feel guilty.
I feel more happier and a massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
I think if social media disappeared forever, I can guarantee people will spend REAL quality time with friends and family. People will know who their REAL friends are and that they will do things together and have a good time doing it. I also feel that people will have proper conversations and listen and engage.
I do feel sorry for our young generation. The young generation is lost. There is so much talent and ideas in young people and they need to show that in a positive & constructive way. We can make change for the future. The young generation needs real positive role models to look up to, for them to succeed in life & beyond.
So 👍 true

Im a guy who use not much social Media. During working and during my time in the nature, there is No Phone, No music. When i releax at home i watch some yt videos or documentarys, have no Twitter, no tiktok and dont play Games.
Damn fact
This month is 6 months without social media for myself!
Deleted all my accounts last week. Been online since I was 12… at 33 it was time to go.
Deleted or deactivated?
You start living for other people, this line hit hard
Been saying this for years that social media is destroying the fabric of everything a human being does. Good video
An the most horrible part of it all, is that they make tons of money out of it
I just deleted mines after a mental breakdown 😭 thank you for this video
I haven’t had social media for like 4 years and it’s so great! People are always in complete shock when I say that.
I deleted all my social media last week. It was weird that all my friends were shocked and they're all like "are you okay, do you need help?". Now, it open my eyes, I go out , I saw everyone was on their phone. Eating, walking, at the bus station, train station, even hangout with a lot of friends, all of them are on the phone scrolling, I can even see their thumb pushing up, every each one I saw. So strange. I only have CZcams accounts and I only watch what I searched, I don't use shorts scrolling and recommended videos anymore. Thank you for sharing this, Matt!
it's a wild world
I'm a senior in college. The day before fall quarter started, I deleted my accounts. Now I have a 3.5 GPA. I don't care about TV either...why would I waste time watching someone else's character when I could focus on mine.
I realized that my REAL friends call me and text me. My fake friends only talk to me through pictures! I literally deleted my instagram yesterday and I deleted my Facebook about two months ago.
Yeah I just deleted it today
I just deleted social media. They've been so bad for my mental health, I realized I had to cut it off entirely. I can say I am much more willing now to do other productive activities in my life and I feel much better.
All you need is discipline or to make social media work for you. Sure deleting it eliminates the problems, but if you had more control then you'd be able to find a balance.
SHUT UP@@jdbruiser
Its been a month now for me without social media , life feels so much better , now i’m more focused on my studies,my life, family , friends and inner peace
I am been off social media expect youtube .don't miss it. This guy is so correct
I'm 100% ok with deleting Snapchat and Instagram but CZcams is something I don't ever even think about to delete it because of the knownledge you can gain due to high quality videos like your's. Thanks for these advices and the good content🙏.
It's been 13 months for me. I became so much happier and I don't miss it at all.
And I don't think people realize how much social media makes you very lustful of people you'll never have direct access to! People have parasocial relationships with people who don't even know they exist!
We were never meant to see thousands of peoples thoughts within a span of hours man. That in itself can influence your thoughts
You are right when you said, brother, stay away from distractions to develop yourself. Thanks
I felt such a weight off my shoulders when I deleted my facebook. It was annoying me after a while so I deleted it. It has probably been 8 years now but I will never go back. My privacy is something I actually cherish now, I feel better being a mystery just like you said.
I deleted Facebook last month and got rid of Instagram today. I do feel blank but not bad. It feels like exiting a loud pub with endless music. I am hoping to make the best of my short span of existence.
my goal for 2024, reducing social media phone usage.
replacing healthier habits, back to meditsting , journalling exercising, making side income, back to finishing college, getting my kife in order
quitting my current job
Why 2024? Start now

I’ve been going back and forth between having social media for years now and now all I want is to do is focus on myself so I can figure out what I want. I’m 32 and I want to completely disconnect from this energy. I do want to have a CZcams eventually but it stops today.
Thank you for this video Matt. I am so done with social media in 2024.
Good point. Absolute most of that information we comsume on social media has zero value. It's just a Distraction.
I love watching these videos and reading the comments since I like knowing everyone's thoughts on social media.
I didn't delete social media I just don't engage publicly anymore. I check DMs only about once a month. Not interested in people's random posts anymore. My DMs are DIRECT MESSAGES from people I like, I never view any timeline...cuz in my book, if u didn't say it to me directly...u didn't say it✌️
I deleted all social media yesterday. I felt very lonely spending time there.
Its been 4 months without a social media and I can tell anybody reading this that there are no negatives.
The validation that I get from myself after accomplishing anything is more authentic and powerful than any validation i can get from anybody.
Unless you have FOMO, its quite easy to do it, but you gotta learn that the happiness, fulfilment and excitment that you brew within is the true one and not the one that you get off from posting stuff online. You'll see it when you do it.
Also, there's no point in seeing what everybody else is doing in their life if all thats gonna do is frustrate you up. If you really stop that and actually start enjoying your life you'll find yourself have that life too!
Hi matt this video was truly inspirational and had tipped me off the edge for good, Social media has brought me nothing but grief. As I've grown older I desire privacy and I don't wish to be searched or judged by other people that don't know me personally. A realisation that has sadly become more noticeable in this generation.
I just deactivated my TikTok, Instagram and Facebook for alllll of the reasons you said in this video. Right on!
Certainly did for me as well. Your story about deleting Instagram inspired me to delete as well-all three of my accounts. Thanks for spreading a great message Matt!
Let’s go Chris thank YOU
@@MattSpear99I certainly enjoyed the way you explained how social media can be very obsessive cool bro. I have just recently commented on how I reach out to anybody that I have known for years. I’m also new here and I’m very happy that I have noticed you on CZcams. Hope to someday physically meet you in person which would be very nice one of these days.
People always look at me crazy when I say I don’t have social media…the longest I’ve ever went was 18 months and I was so happy and content…I’ve been off since October and I don’t plan on going back, my friends think I’m crazy being that I have 21k+ on tiktok and was getting paid but none of that matters to me…I enjoy my high vibrations 😊✨
That’s not crazy
Social Media turned into a popularity contest and its no longer about looking back on old photos
Yes
I did delete social media last year n was so focused on school and passed, I opened it again n deleted today to get that same focus back❤❤
i’ve just deleted social media myself and i could not relate more to your video. to put it simple you read me like a book. this video has finally made me recognize what my problems were and how to improve myself, and i’d like to thank you for that.
Hey brother i'm glad I'm going to delete my social media. I really need to see this. Thank you so much. And I can't wait to feel like a kid again and a good
I just put app limits on my phone. Put a 1hr limit for all my socials combined, not 1hr per app. I’ve been walking by myself, I’ve been reading more, I’ve been exercising more, I’ve been cooking more. I enjoy my solitude and it’s been so liberating.
👏🏼 👏🏼 I've been social media free for almost a year now. It's been great
Your past video motivated me to delete Instagram (only social media I had). I am like 10 days into it and I am feeling so better. Guys just do it. Seek absolute freedom.
My husband seeks validatin offline which is like his social media. Glad i bailed during early stage of pandemic. My screen time is less than 1 hour now and moat of the time it is watching videos I use every morning. I quite over a year ago. I deleted the apps as well. I go on vacation now and do not post the pics on social media and maybe one pic on my yt channel so my subscribers are okay. I also quit chatting with random strangers online who i dont see and didnt teach me anything. I would rather go out and meet people. If they cant see me off line then they are not a friend. The endless texting and only calling crap, I dont do anymore.
Bro, this message really touched me🤝
REAL TRUTH!
I love it after deleting, except my yt channel .. because there u provide and share my experiences...loved it ...
Bro , I could really feel each and every word you said , because me suffering from the same
I've always been out of the social fomo because I'm a ugly freak. Never tried to compete with normies. This hurted a lot in the past, but now I just get over it.
social media is a waste of time. last year, i was at my lowest because i was a senior in college with alot of stuff to do. i had to focus on my assignments and graduate, but the same time i would care about another people and what they would do. i would compare myself with other people especially girls. Right now, i’m youtube videos about how to better myself and get a better job. Social media is just a distraction. I am 23 years old right now and I never really liked instagram cause everything is just super fake.
omg i really resonated with this comment, i’m a senior graduating at 23 as well!! def taking this as a sign
@@khrystihh social media just keeps getting worse and worse. you just gotta focus on yourself and grow. it’s so much hate and negativity out there’s
Facts
I don’t have social media either
The thing is if people would be allowed to use it only 2 hours a day, the content would be much better quality, more engaging, less spaming.
Less spaming in videos, less desiformation and less spaming in comments.
I’mma be doing this real soon, the addiction is crazy
Yeah I did for 3months my life was different more in real world I just deactivated it today again
I love that feeling, when I'm watching your videos and can relate to all this benefits you are talking about ❤
I don't think i am addicted to social media but i just think what is the point of having it if you don't need it. So i deleted it and i got comments like "why did you delete it" and i'm just like "didn't need it" and they just can't comprehend.
😂❤
Love this video!!! Love your brutal honesty. Straight to the point. Subscribed!
Little late, but I just came across this video. This story is really uplifting to me as I was in a very similar situation in middle and high school where I was always brought down by my peers for not ‘fitting in’ or matching their vibe. I ended up tuning those people out and deleting Snapchat once and for all, and it changed me life. No longer was I unsatisfied or anxious over how I wasn’t fitting in with other people- that never ended up mattering. Now that I’m in college, I’m the happiest and most confident that I’ve ever been thanks to deleting social media and not getting tied up in what people thought of me!
Hell of a motivation speech. Thanks.
Bro you are speaking facts, listening from germany.
I hope this message will reach more young people.
Love this so much. Thanks for sharing
Never had facebook, instagram, tiktok, or twitter--too afraid to. I don't post on youtube, but I do enjoy the variety of content here.
Absolutely love this video ! Free from the addiction. Thanks for this !
LOVE this video Matt!! I burst out laughing so many times cuz you descriptions are spot on
Hell yes life is better without it!! I am never going back. . Love this vid.
Nice video, man! Keep it up!
Amen!!!! thank you for sharing this, it really helped
I just delete the apps off my phone for months at a time. I was back on instagram for about a month and eww I just deleted it again it makes me feel like shit. I’m in a much better space mentally when I stay off of there.
Thank you mate, done it myself today, its something I've been thinking of doing for a long time, permanently deleted today 👍
I totally agree and relate to the courtside seats story. Thanks so much for sharing your story because that helps a lot with my own life!
same here, it’s really sad when you think back to times in your life where it has been the same situation as the courtside seats story 😭
I recently deleted social media two months ago and Matt you are so right
I am now trying this matttt 🙂 thanks buddy 🙏🏾
Hello Matt! I really like your video. I haven't deleted my social media but I've been setting methods to decrease the time I spend on it. For example, I put the social media apps on the 2nd page of my home screen so I feel less tempted to open them up, and it worked. I've never really considered deleting though because I like to see what my close friends are up to without feeling too insecure.
nothing egotistical here, when someone is constantly staring at their phone all day and the other isn't, it's hard to relate to most people, especially considering how fried their brain has become, keep it up!
Just pressed permanent delete on insta/facebook. Your videos helped me finally press and say goodbye. Thanks for the help. Now to go through the task of deleting gmail and cleaning up my digital footprint. Much love bro 💕
I'm exiled from social media. I have Google for pictures and CZcams for videos. Listen to MP3 for sound.
Thanks for speaking about this issue. I have deleted all my social media accounts. Today when I woke up it was peaceful.
I’m currently doing this at the moment. April 9th everything is deleted. The comparison thing is a big one. I always compare myself to others and get upset and contemplate suicide because I’m 34 and I’m single no kids and think my life is shit. I’ve deleted in the past but always go back but I’m done this time. I hate constantly checking phone or iPad to check instagram. Really trying my hardest and I’m doing it with WhatsApp as well. I’m also Thinking of selling Xbox Series X and buying Nintendo Switch because friends can message me on series X and I’m wanting to go all in with deleting social media
Im so inspired by this. Im really struggling here with it, looking forward to this change
This is an excellent video.
Great heartfelt video.
Facebook was the only social media that I had. I deleted it as of today. And I am not going to look back.
Just deleted mine today, going strong and never looking back
How it everything? I just deleted mine today 😅
@@TroopsofDoom666 I love it here, it's so peaceful 😊😊, no pressure
Feelings of inadequacy is the biggest poison social media afflicts on younger people today. Being bombarded with imagery of everything you want, and having none of it.....its a drip drip assault on one's mental wellbeing. Its no mistake that statistics show that young people started to become more unhappy with themselves around 2010 onwards........which correlates interestingly with the same spike in the sales of the iPhone as it was becoming easier for people to get. I had the same issue with become badly distracted as a result, my focus destroyed and goals going unfulfilled. Social media is poison. Why do ANY of us care what strangers think about us??
So I wasn’t allowed to have social media growing up. I’m turning 19 this year and now that I can have it, I made the decision to never download specifically tiktok or snapchat. Everyone I know that has either is extremely addicted. Not as much with facebook, X, or discord but I don’t need those. I do have a private instagram account where I only accept requests from people I know in real life, and I hardly spend time on it. If I see the daily time on instagram hitting something crazy like 1:30-2 hours, I’ll have to cut back a lot. Besides deleting it, a healthy way to deal with too much time is just set time limits. I’ll be aiming for under 30 minutes and I recommend this limit to anyone who doesn’t want to delete it but wants to cut back a lot, and yesterday I spent 14 minutes so that’s already better. Since I’m a beginner photographer and love cameras (I’m also working towards a graphic design degree currently), I get a lot of inspiration in all kinds of art forms and instagram is great for that. I post pictures from my nikon DSLR sometimes too
Thank you so much i needed to hear this today
Hello! Currently two months into social media free and I am loving it
Thanks man. I’m thinking about this a lot. Stopped using Facebook already and IG is next.
This is so good. I just completed a 30 detox of social media went back on to instagram for 2 hrs was bored... Socials is no longer gor me and Im ok withthat.
Bro this video is facts!!!! I finally quit it
I have no fear of missing out in terms of romance, events ect. I did keep instagram as last resort because otherwise I really felt cut off. Now I got banned on instagram and its the best thing that happened to me. I would say social media is destructive in design if you dive deep into it.
In high school used Facebook to make post about poops and toilets while everyone else was posting selfies. Good shit Matt!
Been had my social media for wayyyy tooo long and I don’t even know why I still had them for this long it’s crazyyyy !!!! I just know I’m 2024 it’s gonna be HUGE changes for one I’m gonna start living more in the present
I deleted my socials last year and I feel soooo much better!!! More time for me, my hobbies, my family and friends. My stress levels went down big time which actually helped me lose weight cuz high cortisol levels prevents weight loss. However, CZcams on the other hand 😂 I still spend too much time on that. But now that I’m off socials, I have days when I even wanna turn my phone off all day and night. I realized I get so stressed out when I wake up and see tons of messages and notifications on my phone. It feels better putting my phone on airplane mode and no wifi. No messages when I wake up.
Total respect bro. One day all those addicted people will chase you as a Successful guy
This guy is very inspiring 🙌🏼
God Bless You 🙏🙌
Bro you funny 😂, but yeah I feel you on the disappearing and reinventing yourself part
This is why I left social media. Only reason I went back is for my business and brand deals. I can care less about the other sh*t. But honestly, I feel like deleting it all again 😩
Awesome video now subbed, thank you brother agree 100%
I agree with this video 100% thanks for this man.
