About Royal Blood
Brighton duo Royal Blood comprising drummer Ben Thatcher and bassist/vocalist Mike Kerr formed at the beginning of 2013. They quickly made their presence known, with pounding drums and heavily distorted bass guitar defining characteristics of their ferocious blues-rock sound. The band gained many plaudits early in their career, touring with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Iggy Pop and Foo Fighters, before going on to win Best British Group at the Brits in 2015 receiving their trophy from their musical hero and admirer Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.
Their catalogue boasts the Mercury Prize nominated self-titled debut album released in 2014 that spawned hits such as "Out of the Black, "Little Monster:, "Come On Over" and "Figure it Out", as well as their second successive UK number one album "How Did We Get So Dark?" released in 2017 which featured "Lights Out" and "I Only Lie When I Love You".

After listening 4 times i must agree with you best RB album yet.. i really love the influences in this album from Justice to tame impala and i feel a lot of fidjet house in there the english way of 2018. Its so refreshing hearing such variopint rock
@@LegioneSacra that's what i've been looking for: it's refreshing. i love their older stuff and listen to it almost everyday, but this album is just... beautiful. everything: lyrics, intruments, just everything. plus most of the lyrics from this album just.. when i listen to them, i feel like it's about me, my life, what i'm going through past months. i can't imagine how good next album will be.

Drum and bass is the hardest music to balance and make good for a big rig...
He typically uses a contrabass guitar, that way he can reach notes a bit higher than bass, but still achieve the gritty/deep sound of a bass. The duo is like the perfect foundation for a rock sound and they find riffs and progressions that just absolutely work

That whole "Cheapskates on my right, Vultures up ahead and when I turn my back, they take what is left" line reminds me so much of Mos Def-Mathematics. Particularly when he he says "there are six million ways to die from the seven deadly thrills. Eight year olds getting found with nine mills." Such awesome wordplay on both accounts!
