I’ve had mine for 38 years. Resoled 3-4 times but haven’t worn them for 4-5 years because they look like your thumbnail. THIS video makes me happy. Have hated the thought of tossing them out. Would be like throwing away an old , fully filled up paged diary/journal because the cover was worn out. When I think of ALL the jobs ,all the work , all the motorcycle riding , etc. I’ve done in my boots , well , wow !
Me too
Just picked up a pair at a thrift store in town. In my size no less. $20.
Mesmerizing! Great video definitely doing this.
Got the same style Redwing but they don't say Pecos anywhere on them, my dad bought them I think in the early 70s. He retired a little while back and thought he would wear his old boots someday. He eventually decided to see if I wanted all his boots (5 different pairs/styles) this pair is my favorite, I get lots of comments on them, not a common boot you see anywhere especially without the decor stitching like most cowboy boots
*I noticed you removed the cork filling, and didn't put any cork in the void area. What's the reason for not using cork? Or did you use cork, and not include that in the video? I'm just confused. The boots look absolutely amazing! Those are really cool boots! I'm sure the customer was very happy with what you all did 😊!*
Thanks for the comment! We did add cork, but you are correct that we did forget to film that step in the process.
Nice work. I own 15 year old 1149s.
Flawless job man. Beautiful work. But how much would this cost? Roughly as much as a new pair? Regardless that’s a good looking boot.
Pecos souls are Black. Nice craftsmanship 😊
*They were doing what the customer asked for with the white Cristy soles. Yea they did an amazing job on the boots!*
I enjoyed the vid very much. May I know the name of the music used? I find myself absorbed by it.
Nice.
Nice
I’ve got the 10877 right now but there about smoked. Ready for resole and want to buy the 866 pecos
I want to modify one of my Pecos to a roper or a low heal ? What do you think
Me fascina ver estos videos ! Saludos
Subscribed, great work!
Nice video. Just a resole with new mid and wedge? No new welt?
The customer wanted to salvage the original welt, it was still the original sole so it wasn't too difficult to hit the original stitch holes with the new midsole stitching
Great video! What did you use to recondition? I have a pair that I’ve had 11 years. Used mink boot oil and now redwings neatsfoot leather cream.
I used my own conditioner recipe but it would function pretty similarly to what you use
@@UnsungHouse can i have one number 40 asian, where i can contact u
why didn't they show recorking?
I tried a pair of the 866’s and it felt like I was leaning backwards. Every boot I’ve ever worn fits fine and I feel upright while standing. But the 866 it made me feel like I was leaning. Is there a reason? Am I the only one that has that experience (bad boot or actual design?)
I have found that redwing seems to balance their boots a little lower than most other makers. The lasts that boots are built on account for a certain heel height and if you don't actually build the heel to that height it will feel like the heel isn't tall enough or your weight will feel like it's off balance or leaning backwards. You can go too far the other way as well, making the boots feel like your feet are being forced forward because the heel was built too high
I have 4 pairs and I want to modify one to be a roper ?
Gotta fix that tension on your curved needle. Nice video.
Yeah I think the thread measure mechanism was releasing a little too much thread, it kept leaving the lock a little too far to one side but I think we've got it now!
what type of redwing is that?
how much do you charge to do a restoration?
It depends on what kind of repair we are doing, but if you have questions about a repair you can email us at shoes@unsung.house
