I have one of those sword hand 300m and I absolutely love it. I find the newer version just too fussy looking with the skeleton hands and busy strap design. I just think the 2254.50 is ageing so well.

i think the discontinued model looks better. OMEGA over ROLEX anyday. they are less expensive and twice as beautiful. get yourself a omega seamaster case opener key. makes it real easy to change the battery yourself. i got my 2264.50 quartz seamaster in 2006 for $1049 today they are over $2000

ive got the black quartz version too, i havn't had it pressure tested in 20 years but i dont really wear it unless im going to a restaurant, so i just change out the battery when it starts jumping seconds! i took the bracelet off mine because it was catching my skin, and changed it for a black alligator horn back strap, its beautifully made, theres a leather maker on ebay who sells all things leather on ebay from Vietnam, this was before i knew they kill alligators inhumane there! i found out this black version from Omega's watch history page of all there old watches that my watch was always meant to have a leather strap, and most people dont realize that, i think it looks better now, my grandad was into horology and sold and fixed luxury 2nd hand watches, i think he must of put a bracelet on it. its a great watch but i do wish my parents for my 18th or 21st birthday got me the mechanical version, owell you cant have everything u want.

Had no idea they're good on leather. I actually modded the bracelet so now it has the new adjustable clasp on it like the new ones have... But I do have the tools (the bergeon tweezers) to safely swap the strap... So maybe will see what it looks like on a leather. I think you should be happy with the quartz. So trouble free. They just work! Always tell the right time

ive got the black one! got it for my 18th birthday, im 34 now! this watch was always meant to have a leather strap, so i replaced my omega braclet, which was catching my skin alot, and replaced it with a black croc strap, looks better now in my personal opinion, unfortunately my parents got me the quartz version. which is a shame, i wont buy a watch myself that isn't machanical, but a guess the quartz version will be even more rare sinse not my people wanted it, my brother got the blue goldeneye watch 11 months later which pissed me off, i wanted that one, lol
