  • Get a real 3-point hitch on your Cub! www.tractorinnovations.com/cub
    This is the instructional video for installing a 3-point Quick Hitch kit on your Farmall Cub.
    Nothing comes close to the versatility of a modern 3-point hitch for your Cub, and it installs in under 15 minutes! Heck this video is only 10:30, and I do a bunch of jawwing. The 3-point has done a lot of work since this installation, and I haven't touched it beyond this 10 minute installation.
    We've done the trial and error, and this exact kit is in use every day on farms, keeping those Cubs working!

    Man . . . I'm beyond impressed with the 3-point adapter. I'm going to have to install one on our international cub one day. I think it is a 79 model. Hope to do a small series on restoring it. Probably doesn't have 1,000 hours on it. Grandpa treated it really well. Thanks for putting this video together. When it comes time to throw one on mine I may have to reach out! Looking forward to subscribing and seeing more of your videos. - Samuel

    Great video, Brother! I'm looking for a little Farmall Cub as we speak (we already own a Farmall 140......looking for one a little smaller to go with it.....). Glad to see you were able to recover all the nuts and bolts you dropped in the grass! 😁

    I fabricated a 3 point hitch for my Cub a couple of years ago. The main problem I've had is that finding implements that the Cub hydraulic system is strong enough to lift. Anything over about 400lbs is too much. I'm thinking about a different design now that will use the stock drawbar hooked up to the rocker shaft.

    I put a 3-point hitch on my cub 20 years ago and found it not very useful. Loads too far back, unstable. Could barely lift a landscape rake. Could not lift a boom pole. Maybe you should have video showing what you've found works with this 3-point hitch.

    How much weight can this system lift? We recently bought a little cub and have only used it to pull a drag around the arena. We also got a plow and mower. But everything is apart and I just haven't had time to try to assemble anything yet. It's nice tractor and I don't want to get it all muddy so I'm waiting for dry weather.

    Would you consider coming up with a manual lift arm for a Farmall B? I want to get a Woods 59 mower but I have no way to raise or lower the mower without the manual lift.

      It's a 1,000 pound worm drive cable winch. It can raise/lower the rear 3 point independently or with the front hydraulics. I need to upgrade to a 2500 pound winch. Anythign on the rear multipies by about 4.

      We put 3pt on our super C. It was aftermarket off an H. Had to remove the belt drive gear box to make it fit. I have a few 3pt implements that won't work on a quick hitch for various reasons. For a cub they'd have to be very light.

    Do I have to have my rims turned out or it should work just how it is with the three point

    • @TractorInnovations
      @TractorInnovations  Před 3 lety +1

      It should work with the rims all the way in. You can measure to be confident of this. The kit is 28" wide. The narrowest wheel spacing on a cub is 40" (center to center), subtract the width of half of both tires (8.4") leaves you with 31.6" between the tires. We've got over 150 if these in use, and no customer has had any trouble with wheel spacing.

    Real question does this work with the woods 59 c2 mule drive yes some modifications would be required to mount the mule to the bottom brackets of the 3 point but im wondering about the clearance of the lower bracket and the center support bar hitting.

    • @TractorInnovations
      @TractorInnovations  Před 11 měsíci +1

      I think the mower and mule-drive mounts wouldn't allow this to mount in the right spot.

    That is allot of weight to hang off those small hydraulic systems. The hydraulic cylinder is to small for a three point hitch. I have always saved the hydraulics for implements only. Looks very well made though.

    • @TractorInnovations
      @TractorInnovations  Před 5 lety +4

      About 300-400# I have an extension in the works for the front side of the rock shaft, which would double that. An implement that heavy, though, you'll need weight on the front of the tractor.

    • @devinholland2189

    • @TractorInnovations
      @TractorInnovations  Před 5 lety

      Check out the accompanying video. I've built a 12v powered winch system that easily lifts 600lb on the back. I've moved my tiller ~750lb, but it was a struggle - you shouldn't do that every day. Works great for simple implements that your Cub can pull, and for hitching and moving trailers without leaving the driver's seat!

    • @TractorInnovations
      @TractorInnovations  Před 5 lety +1

      As with any new system you adopt with a tractor, there is some adjustments to be made. Almost all new implements you can buy will conform to the standard spacing, and most old stuff can be easily adapted. I have over a dozen implements that I can attach and remove in 15 seconds and swap between tractors. It's totally worth the couple of hours of work to get all the implements to conform, and makes it much safer and quicker to attach later. I've got several old implements that just took drilling a new top pin location, in rare cases, and little welding, but adapting them to the quick hitch has been an excellent investment on our farm.
