Michael Gene Funny thing is that LeBron’s defence has always been this inconsistent. Fans proclaimed he could “defend five positions” yet he couldn’t even guard his OWN man. Even back in Miami Heat, his defence hasn’t been looking great. Two of his six all-nba first defensive team were gifted to him. In Final, there have been multiple players who legitimately has better game overall when played against LeBron. For example? Kawhi Leonard who is just beginning to be on an uprise, who won FMVP with the highest true shooting percentage. Can you imagine just how bad LeBron’s defence has to be? Kevin Durant lit his ass up in the finals back to back. Jason Terry, a role player but nonetheless great player has improved his statistical numbers in every category against LeBron in his position. Funny fact, in the six years of LeBron’s year as a member of the ALL-NBA first defensive team, the team he is on has never touched top 5 in defence, despite having all the all-stars by himself while Jordan has done it multiple occasions even back in his Wizard’s years, prior to his injury, has lead the Washington Wizard’s defensive efficiency as high as the fifth seed. Context? Wizard has one of the worst regular season prior to the addition of Michael Jordan in history.

What's sad is this video is really a microcosm of this whole NBA era and it's why I despise what basketball has become. I grew up in the Jordan era and guys prided themselves on defense as much as they did on scoring. Now that's not the case at all. The game was WAY more fundamentally based and that's why the classic teams from the golden years of the NBA would dominate these kids now because back then they played TEAM basketball. Now it's all about the idiotic "BIG 3" and crap like that. Bird was asked once if he would have loved to have teamed up with MJ and Magic and he said "No. We wanted to beat each other to prove we were the best!" Totally different story now. If you can't beat 'em join 'em is the attitude of the modern NBA players and that's really lame.
