It's said that someone asked Jimi Hendrix what it felt like to be the best guitar player in the world and that Jimi replied I don't know, go ask Rory Gallagher. JJ Cale is worth a look too. He was Eric Clapton's mentor and some people call him the Original Slow Hand. My favorite Cale song is Sensitive Kind.
