Bought myself the 100 Gen 3 this week. Absolutely love it. Never played any Katanas before. Unreal.
Not used the app yet but going to buy the Bluetooth adaptor next week. But the tones I have dialled in with the controls on the actual amp 👌🏻
I’ve been tone searching with various valve amps for months trying to replicate a certain sound and dialled it in pretty easy with the Katana. Imagine the world of possibilities when I start delving into all the different effects etc on the app. Played for hours today without even realising it. Used the Aux to play my favourite tunes whilst playing along. This thing is that enjoyable I’m loving my playing again and therefore will only continue to improve the more I practice. Love it 🤘🏻

Came here through the Boss website in order to try and understand installing the app. About as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Now wishing I had stuck with Marshall.
There is no doubt that Katana is the G.O.A.T., Gen3 sounds fantastic!
But what I want, and I know it's coming is...Katana Floorboard. Like the ME-90 but with Katana Bite and feel.

Made up my mind. I'm going to get the new Gen3 katana 100watt. But is it worth the extra hundo to get the 2 x 12”, or save the money's? Most likely going to get two eventually.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the 50 MKII….bought it for my son and I was so impressed with it, I used it to gig myself and sounded great!!

Still no effects loop in the 50w nor the function to use the GAFC footswitch! Why?? Don't want a 100w amp, too big, but would consider the 50w if those flaws were put right.

Question , i have a boss katana 50 mk2 ex , and a boss 100 mk2 head , i bought the head under the impression i could link them , but have since been warned not to , can somebody put me straight each amp says they can link to others for stereo affect , im hoping they can link Or il have to return both items , for something completely different as theyre still boxed up ,

I got the 50 Gen 3 and I really wanted to like this. But it sounds absolutely shit. I don't know how to make it sound good. I play classic rock blues with an Epiphone Les Paul through it and it is just so artificial to me. I regret buying it. Luckily it was only $300 and I can try to resell it because the music store I bought it from doesn't take returns. Any suggestions on how to make it sound better? If I put a tube screamer through it on a clean signal, would that help? Maybe it's just the effects that really suck? Or Me lol . I should have just put up for a Fender Blues Jr.
No easy answer but definitely worth persevering, 'cos the achievable tones make it worth the effort.
Experimenting with the internal EQ settings should hopefully fix your problem, it worked for me. On-board Tube Screamer is great, also Marshall Guv'nor, just go easy on the BOOST level.
I found a mid-rangey EQ profile (POST-AMP) works best for classic rock and blues, reduce the flubbiness below 200Hz and the ice-pickiness above 4kHz and see how that works for you. Also, set PRESENCE around 50 - 60 range, definitely helps.
