Another thing to consider is that the new katana does not have the sneaky amps. It’s nice for sure but they still did not give the option of a stereo out while monitoring from your amp

Yes this is another thing to consider. Thank you for watching this video.

Hi Alex, thanks for the message. Yesterday I saw one in the shop for $419. The MKII was now 239. When I got home I found a Gen 3 online for $329! So today I decided to buy one. So this way I saved money for a pedal😀

Thank you for watching this video. If you don't have any other boss katana amp I think you made the right choice. Enjoy!

Where did you see it? 🙊 link pls

I think you have missed a few things that are a really key update on gen3. For one , the boost section now holds 3 drives and you can set each one up differently and those settings hold. Go to your MKii and try this and you will see all drives have exactly the same settings and all 3 stay like that. This is a big plus. Streaming audio and running BTS on. Either mobile and laptops is now possible, you had to jump to 3rd party setups to do anything like the Gen3. Possible yes but it is a lot more work and effort and sharing your presets or archiving them along with midi controller setup is a good deal more cumbersome

Thank you for watching this video. I talked about Bluetooth, I think it's a good thing but we need to remember that you need to buy the Boss Bluetooth adaptor and I don't like this choice. You pay a good amount of money for a new amp and it's not difficult use a blueetooth chip inside the amp. For the boost section: yes, it's something I call an upgrade but I don't know if it's enough.

If you had a KATANA Artist MK2, you probably shouldn't buy the GEN 3 Artist.
If you had a Katana 50 or Katana 100, I think the GEN 3 Artist would be worth the money.

I have the artist MK2 and am trading up because better sound better functionality, more features is worth a couple of hundred bucks to me

Thank you for watching this video. Obviously it's a personal decision, if you can and if you want to switch I'm sure that you will be happy with this new device.

Why would i buy the older model as my first amp and not get the gen 3

    • @Alex_Guitar95

Thank you for watching this video. The entire point of this video is to discourage to buy boss katana 3 if you have a katana mk2. Obviously if you don't, unless you're on a tight budget, you should buy the third gen model.

In my opinion the upgrade is not so pronounced as to make me want to spend twice as much. But clearly it also depends on one's needs.

You seem like you're really concerned about pricing you're also just assuming things that you know nothing about at the time of the video you placed and you were not thinking right because you did not know much information before you bought the mark 2 I did the same thing but I'm going to be upgrading
