    I removed my snorkel and was very happy with the result. I added the Uni after that and lost top end, so I put the stock back in for now. As soon as I can add an exhaust and tune I'm going right back to the Uni. And man, do I wish I would have seen your video before I pulled the snorkel! Your method looks so much easier. Great job!

      Yeah I can't wait to see what a tune and exhaust would do to the bike

    Yeah. That airbox snorkel. I was trying to get it out from the other side (based on another video) and it was a pain in the ass. Somebody in the comments suggested coming Into the air box and that was the ticket👌

    Nice video, remember everyone give a subscribe to help his channel. Tip : the new shifter will rub on the engine cover ( my IMs shifter did, sure the tusk will likely do the same?) So file slightly the back of the tip of the shifter that rubs the engine cover , this will at least prevent the bigger scrapes and if contact occurs will be a smooth rub rather the a sharp bite. KLR is the tinkers favorite project bike

    • @FullThrottleJunkie
      @FullThrottleJunkie  Před 2 lety +1

    The first mod I did too mine was removing those goofy little foot peg... pegs things hanging down.after about the tenth time my shoe laces got caught on them they had to go.still haven't figured out what they were for.is it possible to do these mods WITHOUT the techno/metal music playing? don't want to mess anything up.

  • @MrCheaterpipe
    @MrCheaterpipe Před 2 lety +3

    Those tusk pegs look nice and im sure they grip amazing but they sure look like they would chew through a pair of boot soles in no time i put the cheap ebay pegs on mine they arent quite as agressive as to tear up my boots but still give me ample grip when wet or muddy

    • @FullThrottleJunkie
      @FullThrottleJunkie  Před 2 lety

      It shouldn't tear up boots that bad

    • @eddie5270
      @eddie5270 Před 2 lety

      Yeah, I have them on my KLR as well, and they are “rounded” on top as opposed to a sharp “knife” edge👌 (best deal for the $ I could find)

    16 tooth countershaft sprocket add legs to all gears and prolongs sound waves and roosters.

      I was wanting to try the 16 tooth sprocket but I was worried that I might lose some low end grunt

    Do you disable abs when you wheelie this big bike?
    Also: can you do a short video tutorial on the one way check valve for oil in airbox?? :o

  • @markcollins5026
    @markcollins5026 Před 2 lety +2

    Man, I did the uni air filter on my new KLR, make the throttle alot snappier, I will not remove the snorkel thou !

    • @FullThrottleJunkie
      @FullThrottleJunkie  Před 2 lety +1

      It's not really necessary but I do plan on having the bike tuned so every bit of air i can squeeze out of it the better

  • @hvac42long1
    @hvac42long1 Před 2 lety +3

    Doubt you will get any more air by removing the boot that would otherwise prevent water from entering the intake. Besides the fuel injection is set up near perfect for the rest of the design. So many after market air intakes have been proven to actually reduce power. At least without other modifications and tuning. Free or cheap usually leads to a crappy running machine. It may sound a little different by hearing more air noise at the intake but any perceived power gain will be a placebo effect. In other words just your imagination.

    Hey guys. The hot tip of the day. Trust me. Put a stock 2018 pipe on the 22 year bike. That euro trash oem pipe has to go. I welded an appropriate nut ad drilled 02 sensor bung on it. Now cold starts yield a puff of richness and with a Lexx pipe makes power band music. The FI adjusts perfectly and you F... fmf power bomb pipe out-of 200 bucks. Ill never use fmf pipes because they dissed me on the phone for free thought.
    The klr sounds so good on single lane backwoods macadamia. Do it. Ebay has 2 pipes left. Mine was 50 bucks.

    Hello mate
    How much mo power do you think if you changed the whole exhaust system?
    And do you or have you heard of any ecu upgrade ?
    I haven't had bike for along time and I want the klr to be my only bike.
    Thanks

      I don't how much power it is going to make yet but I am working on getting an exhaust. I have the power Commander already just haven't installed it yet. Check out 3d cycle parts they have just about everything you will need for the KLR
