a) One goal of English colonization was to gain wealth from the New World.
b) Unlike other European powers, the English focused more on establishing settlements in order to stimulate the excessive population.
c) English colonization in the Americas caused a hostile relationship between the English settlers and the natives who were already living there.
Make sure to add specifics and explain it more :)

@@oskarbringle440 SAQ ANSWERS: Here, this could be a more descriptive edit to what @RoseDickson said. a) One goal of the English Colonization was to gain wealth from the New World, especially through mercantilism. For example, the Southern Colonies were mostly based on seeking profit and trading and established profitable slavery systems of cash crops such as Tobacco. This profit was then sent back to the Mother Country England, and profit was regulated by the Navigation Acts of 1650-1673. b) Unlike other European powers, the English focused on establishing settlements instead of just making money and spreading catholicism. For example, the New England Colonies were established settlements of mainly Puritans looking to escape religious persecution from King James and settled in Plymouth beginning in 1620. c) English colonization in the Americans led to hostile relationships between the Native Americans who had already established diverse societies, adapted to their environment, and the English settlers. One example of this can be seen in King Phillip's War from 1675-1676, where Native people revolted against English settlers encroaching their land for agricultural use. Killing Metacom, this event signified the end of Native resistance in the New World against New England.
Hope this helps :)
Thanks homie o7
a) One goal of English colonization was to gain religious freedom. The Puritians and Sepratists left England in order to escape religious persecution from the Church of England. The Sepratist would end up settling in Plymouth, Massachussets and the Puritains in Massachussets Bay Colony. There both of them were able to thrive with religious freedom but they didn't allow religous tolerance for other religions.
b) One English goal that differed from other European powers was to establish settlements in the New World. Unlike Spain and France that only had single men settle in the New World for mainly economic reasons (Fur Trade with French) (encomienda system with Spanish), the English brought entire families in order to estbalish colonies. They had little contact with the Natives, unlike the Spanish and French that often traded and decimated them.
c) One impact of English colonization in the Americas was the increasing independence of the colonies. With the age of Salutary Neglect from (1650-1750), England started to give more self-rule to the colonies which led to an increasing autonomy for the colonies. The goals of the colonies gradually began to differ from those of England, occasionaly England would have an exception and establish acts that led to more royal control such as the Navigation Acts which required the colonies to only trade with Britian. This would lead to the colonies slowly seeking independence.
You definitely passed 😭
for b i'd like to point out that the english may not necessarily have had less contact with the natives than the other nations, considering their rapid spread across native land causing conflicts like king philip's war etc.
Not all heroes wear capes. Thanks so much Adam!

The British sought land, power, and wealth through colonization of the Americas. The British differed from other colonizing powers in that they looked to establish the policy of mercantilism, or a profitable trade balance in their colonies. The British focused heavily on agriculture, especially in the Chesapeake bay region. The subsequent demand for labor was filled by African slaves. The rise of the African slave trade was a major consequence of British colonization of the Americas.

147 years in 9 minutes... I love it
I learned in bio that if the history of the world from start to today could fit into an hour, humanity would only occupy loik the last... some really negligible amount of time! Remember, Terra is 3.odd billion years old, life is only a few hundred million, and humanity is under 50 million or so years. Remember, perspective.
I cannot verbally express how helpful these videos are. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

One primary goal of English colonization at the time was economic reasons. England had a population boom, but there wasn't any more land for the new population to live and farm on. These impoverished, landless people hoped that by moving to the colonies in the Americas they could get the possibility of owning land.
One English goal that set them apart from other European powers was the full on colonization of the Americas. They established self-governing assemblies and were planning on permanently staying in the Americas. Most European powers didn't have many colonies in the Americas. They only set a few men over to establish lucrative fur trade with the Native Americans (Like in the cases of the French and the Dutch). Or in the Spanish's case to mine for valuable resources like gold.
One major impact that the English colonization had in the Americas was the slave trade. Since the British colonies in the Americas grew many labor-intensive crops like rice, sugar cane, and tobacco this required a lot of laborers. Originally they used indentured servants, but eventually switched over to enslaved African Americans because they were much cheaper and were more plentiful.
I don't know anything in this class
Thomas Yang I have never related to anything like I relate to this comment

I like the way that the sentences are on a kinda blackboard :) Thanks for the video!
I forgot to take notes for this period so this looks like it will help
good luck boys
How did Bacons Rebellion decrease the amount of indenture servants ?
Rain Bow People saw indentured servants as rowdy and violent after that, so they wanted labor more easily controlled.
I like ur profile pic ;) V
Sarah Thaw omg !! I cant believe i found a kpop fan on these videos too haha
+Rain Bow indentured servants were able to get out of servitude and in turn became a poor white class and wanted more rights so they revolted hence Bacon's rebellion and his anger towards the governor of virginia ( i believe ). So, the America's then decided indentured servitude was a bad idea. So then the idea of slavery, which was already around in the Caribbean (Haiti) came about in order for a better form of a slave-like system. This was also good because slave were not able to become free people (until later) like indentured servants were.

Hey, I am currently enrolled in the APUSH class at my school, I go to a year round school so we've been in school for 3 weeks. Your videos have helped me a lot with understanding the chapters, I do good on all the basic reading quizzes! Although there is a down side, my teacher formats our tests where there will be a primary source excerpt and 2-3 questions to go along with it. I'm having a great amount of trouble with these types of questions and my grade is significantly starting to go down because of it. I was wondering if you guys have any tips for a better understanding on how to completely understand the questions and/or have any good practice to get more familiar with this kind of text. Thank you so much!
-Rachael
+rdizzledawg THe way your teacher is formating the tests is how the AP test will be. The way i take those tests are to think logically. The biggest problem is usually that there are multiple correct answers and you have to pick the best one. Personally I would do a lot of practice problems and go over your missed problems. I always second guess myself and change my answers which results in me missing questions that I would have gotten correct so just make sure you dont second guess yourself. Also, cross out answers that you know forsure that arent true and look at who said or wrote the primary document, if you know what the person believed in it can help you figure out the answers.
Can someone give an example to the short answer?
+Hanna Ziyad
One goal of english colonization: mercantilism. they wanted to make money. or you can talk about how the english demand was growing so they needed colonies to make goods.
One goal that differed from others: the english wanted to actually populate the americas? im not sure about that one
Impact of english colonization in the americas: the columbian exchange brought "new" animals and crops to america. like horses.
Hope i helped lol
ok so for guys and gals that are entering AP for the first time and are spooked for the test. I've never really been the smartest, i average about a 95% give or take in Honors Classes. I got a 5 on the AP Exam so yeah, i don't tips or anything, just don't stress it

Adam your videos are incredible!!! Thank you so, so much!!!
and thank you so, so much for making the powerpoints available!!!
What would be the best to review with for the exam in May, the period videos or chapter videos?
ancabi89 Honestly, both. I know that's a lot, but that's what I'm having my students do.
okay thank you so much.
Adam Norris No way that is not a lot at all. My APUSH teacher assigned way more work, we had to write 10 Short Answer Questions and 5 Essays for each chapter in America's History Eighth Edition. We went through one chapter in about a week. So all together, the reading and answering questions combined resulted in approximately fifteen hours a week of independent study.
What I am trying to say is, thank you so much for creating these succinct videos that are time efficient and review all of the important concepts throughout U.S. History. It makes it so much easier than if we were to go through the entire textbook all over again.
A) wealth. The goal of english colonization was to provide materials and commerce from the new world, resulting in an increase of wealth for them. The tobacco plant in Chesapeake helped boost their economy; a crop that many became addicted to.
B) Farming. The British primarily used plantations and the strategy of indentured servants to A: migrate more Brit’s and B: to increase the amount of farming that could be done. These plantations with slaves/servants made the economy in farming increase drastically compared to other European nations that focused on trade and ports.
C) the impact of english colonization on America was predominantly the affects on native/African people. By pushing the natives to the frontier and taking Africans from their home, the english disrupted culture and created racism throughout america
Thank you!
