Two Hours in Lydney

- Lydney is a small town on the edge of the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire. It has a nearby 19th century-built harbour lying on the bank of the River Severn. The harbour was built by the Severn & Wye Railway Company for the export of iron and coal from the Forest of Dean. Now very much a tourist attraction with a steam railway running from here to Lydney Town station and terminating at Parkend. It is operated by the Dean Forest Railway.
Lydney people class themselves as Severnsiders, albeit still speaking with the distinct Forest dialect.

It’s a beautiful town. We absolutely loved it.
The beauty of Gloucestershire, such a diverse county, each area different with something to offer.
Thanks for the video. Getting ideas for days out from Bristol. Looks nice and well worth a visit 👍
Hi Richard, a good idea of yours, not just Lydney, but the surrounding area. Plenty to see in the Forest of Dean area.
Great video

As most small towns today, could do with some TLC
@@ChrisWitts absolutely agree, I lived there for 19 years and it has its nice moments and community but the town itself and the environment and the people can be very awful
