    Sound quality/taste appart, the LPB1 is really interesting because it can be used as a boost and as an attenuator.
    With 2 LPB1 you can virtually turn a single channel amp in a 3 channel amp.

    • @JohannesKrauser
      @JohannesKrauser Před rokem

      How exactly can you turn it?

    • @tom-lf7dv
      @tom-lf7dv Před rokem +3

      @@JohannesKrauser Assuming you have one channel amp with a drive setting (ex Orange Tiny Terror). Set your pre-amp drive for a crunchy sound; set one LPB1 to boost your guitar signal that will overdrive your pre-amp into distortion, set the an other LPB1 to reduce your guitar signal so the crunchy sound become clean. You have 3 gain setting.
      It can be done with any transparent boost pedal that can boost and attenuate your guitar signal.
      This is just playing with your input signal to overdrive or clean the pre-amp of your amp.
      You could do the same only using your guitar volume knob.
      I didn't try if it worked well yet. Just thought about it.

    Depends on what you are looking for in a booster.
    I prefer a booster which just boosts your original sound and does not colour it.
    To me the CAE does this very well, the others seem to cut off the highs and also some give extra mid.

    Spark mini booster - the soft touch Momentary OR Latching switch makes it the best on the market while at the same time being the least expensive of the five. I use it on the song "Barracuda" to momentarily boost the harmonic strums at the end of each phrase. To my knowledge, no other booster has this ability without a hard toggle.

    The original EP booster didn't have the 3db gain option. It had dip switches for bass and treble. I have one of these and it's absolutely fantastic. Not sure why they would change it. Probably because people didn't like the fact that it wasn't at Unity with the knob at its lowest setting

    • @zdsminorz
      @zdsminorz Před 6 lety +2

      Mike Anderson there are so many ways to use those pedals. Right now, I’m using a Spark in front of my dirt pedals to saturate them when I feel I the situation calls for it. I use my Micro Amp to liven up my amp. Here is what I mean. My 410 Fender DeVille is way too loud. Even when gigging I hardly push it past two. I find this amp sounds better cranked. By using the MicroAmp as my ‘always on’ Pedal, it makes my amp and guitar interact as if my amp is on the edge of breakup, which to me is where the glory sound is lol. I run the mini boost through my effects loop to give me a very clean boost if I want my solos to be a little louder. That being said, people will reply with their own opinions or ideas and they are probably even better. That’s the fun with these. Experiment, find what works for you and keep rockin’. Cheers!
