    Pantene used to be the worst to use on your hair. Im glad they came out with a cleaner line. Ever since I stopped using Devacurl i’ve had trouble finding a good styling product for my fine wavy/curly hair.

    I really want to see you continue using cruelty free and vegan lines since it seems like you're really passionate about those topics. I appreciate that you want to share accessible products but your values are important and if you don't want to share non CF products people will still be here for you! There are accessible vegan and cruelty free lines!

    Hi Janelle,
    I really appreciate the 5 minute format of these Friday budget reviews which makes me more likely to watch.
    I resonate with your cruelty free preference , but it’s nice to know that if I’m traveling or down on funds there are decent available choices in national box store chains.
    I’d love to hear reviews of Alikay, Mielle, and Miss Jessy’s as I see those brands at target and Walmart and wonder about them. I’ve only tried the Mielle Babasu and Mint deep conditioner and I really like it.
    Thank you for all you do, and for your honesty and vulnerability in previous videos!!! You are a gem! đŸ‘đŸ˜˜â€ïž

      I'm so glad you like the format, thats exactly what I was going for! I know everyone is busy and I want viewing videos to feel fun and not like sitting in a meeting haha.
      Thats also exactly why I am showcasing more products. Means and accessibility are different for everyone and everyone can have beautiful happy hair regardless of price point!!
      I have previously reviewed Alikay.. I'm a huge fan.. I'll have to do an update. I will definitely look into reviewing the other brands as well! Thank you for your suggestions!

    I think your hair looks absolutely bomb, chicky! Pantene though... eek. It absolutely ruined my hair like 20 odd years ago when it had silicone in it, and it took years for it to come good, so I dont know whether I could trust it again! But it made your hair look pretty awesome, lady! Thanks for the review! xxoo

    I’ve never used protein before. It’s not something I ever paid attention to or even knew about it ...until I found your channel 😉

    I love the curl mousse- it’s a holy grail produce for me! Also, do you find that protein helps your wash day last longer? Just curious.

    • @JannelleOShaughnessy
      @JannelleOShaughnessy  Pƙed 3 lety +1

      I need to try the curl mousse specifically! I’ve heard wonderful things! I do think protein helps it last longer. Water breaks down the hydrogen bonds in the hair which is why it looses all shape when wet and then the reconnect as water is removed/hair is dry. Protein gives our hair the shape and structure. So realistically the more moisturized the hair is without protein to keep structure the easier it will fall. It can sometimes be a tricky balance if hair doesn’t love added protein but once the balance is found longer lasting washdays are generally more feasible.
