Yesss most of my curls coil and group up/twist around one another and it looks HIDEOUS with layers (don’t even get me started on the rough V shape thats usually just a squiggly or W shape considering my hair doesn’t know which patterns should dominate) and knots like crazy, which just opens the door for definition loss, extreme frizz and breakage and dead ends.

Silk actually wicks more moisture and oils out of your hair than satin does, oddly enough.

My problem with the bonnets is that the elasticity keeps wearing down. Are my bonnets just too cheep? Is this a normal issue?

My big reason for choosing satin over silk is because of the cruelty in the silk industry. It's true silk breathes better but satin doesn't require the deaths of any animals. That's why I have Bambonns (like the tube) made of bamboo for the summer. But if they ever invent a fabric that breathes like silk but is as smooth as satin I'll be all over that 😂😂

I use mousse in every strand of hair, I finger roll it and just pin it so it can have more strenght and better definition and it looks awesome defined!!! I found my curls looks little looser without the mousse, I recommend it!💗

How can I send my pic so I know what to ask for tomorrow at my haircut? I love my stylist, just torn between getting long layers, layers in just the front, or more angling. I have very long, fine 2B curls that are more like beach waves. My hair lies very flat against my head. I let it air dry, bc I don’t know how to use the diffuser.

To anyone who tried the waterbottle test: i just tried it and there are plenty of suds and the water hardness is 18-24 dh where i live. I think it also depends on the shampoo... btw my hair is fucked, so i hope the water is the reason. Tried different diets, blood tests, not "stressing", no colouring, no styling, and it's still dry, brittle and thin as f... and it breaks.. all the time.

Can we talk honestly please do not criticize me. This is a real issue for me. I can not find a way a technique to sleep with my wavy curly hair without looking goofy. I want to look good for the man in my life who sleeps here. Yes I know there are people who say it should not matter however it does matter. Even the silk bonnet looks goofy on me , is a turnoff to me when I see myself so I can only imagine his reaction. Do you have any sites or suggestions to protect my long hair that look lovely ? I have a silk pillow.

Oh my word, someone who finally understands my hair! This is me 100%. I have asked my curly hair stylist to cut back on layers because the bottom layers start to look stringy, she keeps putting layers in that I don't want. Switching stylists now with the hope that she can do the "temple down" method you mentioned!
