Wow I love how she pointed out that he chose to jump off that cliff God didn't push him. It was coles choice though a wrong one. This is very meaningful because people tend to blame God for everything wrong and not look at their decisions and own up. She's wise. 😊👍

1 thing always gets me being non religious is when something bad happens a person will blame themselves if something good happens it must be god, Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but it's a free country I guess. No hate towards any of them btw just an observation and his momma is awesome.

I really have to admire Mrs. Kelly an extra measure when right around 11:11 she really tells the truth in a way that most moms would not do with their son right in the room. She does it with love though.

I remember getting “the call” that my son was in a car wreck,it was one of his coaches and I didn’t hear anything else he said.I didn’t hear where he was,how bad he was or if he was already at the hospital.I got in my car and started down the highway,remember I didn’t even know where he was.I called my sister and told her he had been in a car wreck and I was driving down the road not knowing where I was going.It was like all of a sudden I felt this calm and something took over my car and drove me to him.I told my sister that I was coming up on slowed traffic and that this has to be where he was.Somehow I was able to whiz through traffic down the middle of the highway and cut in front of another car right up behind one of the ambulance,but I still hadn’t seen his Jeep! I jumped out of my car,walked around an ambulance and all I could see was what looked like a bomb went off and the whole highway was littered with pieces of cars.His coach was the first one I saw and he yelled at the paramedics that I was there and as I turned I saw my precious baby boy! When you’re a mom,no matter how old you are,you are always that baby we brought into this world.As I started walking to what was left of his Jeep,the only thing I saw was a bloody sheet covering him.A paramedic lead me up to him and I heard the words”Josh your Mama is here”and she lowered the sheet off his head.Through spitting out teeth and blood my son said back hey mama.His face and chest had hit the stirring wheel and he was going into shock! He was on a first date with a young girl I hadn’t met yet and from what I could tell,she was not alive or very close to leaving this world!
There is so much more to my story,but I will leave with this.If you don’t believe in miracles,I’m here to say we witnessed so many that day! So many things that we lined up after the fact,the placement of different people,all kinds of emergency workers from different fields were all in the same area at the same time! It is unbelievable,and the calm that came over me and guided me straight to him and then to just focus on him and his date had to all come from a higher power! We got through it and lives were changed.Some surgeries after,but they have gone on to have wonderful lives and we just welcomed my first grand baby! God didn’t say bad things will never happened,but he said he is always with us,He certainly was that day!

One thing I failed to talk about was when we got to he ER.The young lady Laura,Josh’s date,was immediately rushed to surgery and we where behind a curtain waiting on x-rays and in walked the ER Dr. that first assessed my son’s facial injuries! He was this tall,well built and handsome black man,very striking,let’s just say his presence commanded the room! Josh’s mouth and facial bones were a mess! He turned to me and said,”Mama we got this”! We came to find out he had just returned to the U.S. after serving years in the military as a physician/surgeon at the front lines in Iraq specializing in severe trauma to the upper body,face,mouth and head from IEDs! He had finished his tours and wanted to settle in a smaller community and head up our ER! What he knew to do first hand seeing my son,was so crucial to his full recovery! We don’t see a lot of Drs.with that type of experience and background in our small town! I don’t know,looks a bit like another miracle to me!

5 years ago, my 16 year old niece was hit by a car while crossing the street. She has a severe traumatic brain injury and is basically in the same condition as Cole. However, she has speech issues and isn’t as clear headed as he is. Anyway, watching his mom describe the ER situation and the conference room, screaming and then deciding never to do that again, was EXACTLY what my sister did( I was with her). I had a good cry watching this, and I’m grateful. I have been blocking that pain for a long time, and it feels good to release some of that. Thank you so much for sharing your lives with us. ❤️❤️

I have NEVER seen or heard a more well spoken, loving, and pure soul in my entire life. Ur mom is amazing and I could not stop watching this. Made me want to call my mom and just tell her how much I luv her! I knew nothing of ur past injury and current healing process but somehow this video popped up in my suggested feed and I'm very thankful it did. Her answer to the “Gods Plan” question was amazing. It’s exactly how I feel and it’s the truth. God never causes us pain or puts us through trials, he only helps us through them. Such an amazing mother and friend!
I believe all my trials and especially pain I cause myself because I am trying to do my life in my time, nor Gods time. I have sence realized the plan God has for me and I have faced kidney failure, bone marrow cancer, diphibulator implant, and in still going towards my goal of living. Occasionally I do get down , God gets me through these times and I keep going and keep my head up.

Its not about being weak.. Cole is your child and you are human. Crying and falling to your knees is probably what you needed to do at that time. I believe that sometimes when things unfortunately happen to others it is really life lessons for those who love them. Only God knows the answers to these things. You guys are wonderful. I've been struggling with mental health issues my whole life and especially the question, why life is worth living, if we'll all die at the end. The things cole's mum said about god having a plan and about waisted opportunitys were so touching and special. To me that is a quote I'll always keep in mind when struggling with anxiety. Thank you so much for sharing your story and the things you've learned.

Im 13 years post injury (4/10/2006-T-4 Complete) I am so blessed to also have an incredible mom like yours. This brought me to tears, yet again reaffirming to me just how lucky I am to have such an amazing family and support system. @@lindapearson8137 amen! I have too. I broke my back in a car accident and I was told I would never walk again and my one kidney was dead. I told them they would witness a miracle and I would walk out of that hospital. Jesus visited me 3 times in my hospital room. On the 3rrd time I was completely healed and I walked out of that hospital complete with my working kidney and on my own 2 legs. Jesus has done many miracle since that time for me. I didn’t deserve any of them but God is so kind and forgiving.

I feel for your mom, i just want to hug her. I really look up to her. I have three boys that are terminal going from walking to a quadriplegic. I may not have had a tramatic experience like your but i feel your pain. We get are strength through our hardships. Your mom us a rockstar I love how strong she is. I never thought having kids i would be on this position, but i am and I dont always see myself as being strong. I am my sons caregivers and its not always easy but I can't ever give up. I fight everyday to hold on to them just one more day and when each day is done I pray that i get just one more. Time doesnt stand still and each day I see them sliioing away turnibg into to a shell of a person and its the hardest thing ive ever had to deal with, the only thing I can do is love them through it. The last thing my grandma said to me before she died was your stronger then you can ever know. Sometimes i feel like the pain of losing them will crush me and thats too hard to deal with so i push it aside because they dont need a mom thats feels sorry for themselves they need a mom that will be there. Life is tough and Im not sure what all this suffering is for.
