I watch this live, the underlying story was that this was Serena's first major tournament after coming back from pregnancy and she noticably was outmatched by Osaka, aka she was getting her butt kicked. Then along with that, her coach was blatantly giving signals from the crowd, which you are not supposed to do, which made her look even worse. This was Osaka's first major win and Serena completely destroyed the moment by throwing a fit once she knew she was outmatched.

This was such disgraceful behaviour by the Americans... Serena was so obviously cheating and STILL got outclassed by Osaka. What makes it so horrible is that Naomi Osaka idolised Serena Williams growing up and never couldve expected the absolute brat that she faced on court. On this day she may have won but her hero died thay same day.

Someone clear this for me. Nowadays coaching is allowed so not a big deal. But if coaching wasnt allowed back then, why would they be allowed to sit jn the stands? I mean if they're there they will coach in some way. If no coaching was so atrict, just dont let the team be present in the stands. Simple.
