  • Do you feel frozen by the fear of making a mistake? Or are you ready to step forward into everything God is calling you?
One of the most courageous things we can do is to begin again.
Sometimes a step in any direction is better than doing nothing-and maybe it looks like going back to the last thing God told you to do.
In this episode of At Home with the Beveres, Addison, Juli, John, and Lisa encourage us to break out of old thought patterns and take courage as we embrace all God has for us in 2023.

Wow, these podcasts really lift my spirits and gives a glimpse of the the joy found in godly families. I know these are blessing so many!!! I loved that example Juli gave of Olympians picturing their victory before they obtain it. Very encouraged to keep moving forward and letting God's wisdom lead me.

Julie, I would LOVE to hear more about your process in the purifying Gods doing... the distinguishing between Hope and A wish!
I've found myself asking (not is despair or desperation but in true wondering..."God, what am I supposed to Hope for?"... in different situations)

This really speaks to me! I love what Lisa said about mistakes... "Making a mistake doesn’t make you a mistake. If you think it does, you’re mistaken."
So true that God gets the glory when he redeems our mistakes and flaws... and thus why it's important for us to learn to embrace our imperfections and not be afraid of making mistakes. Personally for me, much easier said than done... but a great reminder of something I'm continually trying to grow in :)
I do want to add a thought... In terms of "doing" now or not, I think that it really depends on each person and situation - and ultimately what God is saying to them - on the timing. (This doesn't apply to obvious commands like to "forgive" and "love" - but more about specific steps forward on a decision.) Because it's possible to do the "right" thing at the "wrong" time. Many people default to "doing" during times or seasons God actually wants them to "be still" and trust him - and this is also a symptom of grasping for that illusion of control.
And some people have a natural tendency to wait, so God may want to stretch their faith by challenging them to act... and other people have a natural tendency to act, so God may be stretching their faith by challenging them to wait.
So although I agree that we shouldn't be held back by fear, laziness, or anything else when God wants us to "go"... I still think it's very important for people to have the courage to be honest with themselves and with God on what he is saying to them specifically, in their specific season, so that they aren't acting out of anxiety, fear, insecurity, or a desire to control but instead faithful obedience to him.
"But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”" (Exodus 14:13-14)
Something I'd love to hear your guys' thoughts and experiences about is how to discern between fear holding you back from something... versus knowing that God is saying to wait and be calm. :)

What a great segment! Thanks for sharing your gift. You know what would be a great segment? Going through all the scripture that people misquote. E.g. God doesn’t put more on you than you can bear… That is NOT what
1 Corinthians 10:13 says nor means!

This episode had me in tears!!! Several points spoke to my heart about how we have to trust God in all that we are traversing & taking the necessary steps in doing so.
So grateful for this podcast and looking forward to how my husband & baby girl (that’s on the way!) can all grow as a strong unit of a family! ❤❤❤❤❤

Super convicting. God told me to call my sister in law and share the gospel and I didn't. Just got a text yesterday that my sister in law's only sister died unexplained. I have such remorse. I should have obeyed right away

Loved this. Especially the reminder that the patriarchs were imperfect people. I am so hard myself when I've missed what I think the holy spirit is asking me to do instead of thinking of it as a process in learning to be more sensitive to his leading.

This video popped up in my feed tonight so I watched it knowing the Lord placed it there for me. Thank you so much for this. Great reminders to trust that in our waiting God is working. If I could ask for prayer it would be that I can fully trust in the faithfulness of God and not worry about the next step in life. God bless you guys 🙏🩵

    I am so moved.
I got 2 prophecies about writing a book. However I haven’t yet move towards that because nobody really knows me, I don’t have a lot of followers and English is not even my first language…
The Lord has spoke to me about writing as well.
    I just don’t feel equipped.

Hello Taysha, God equips the called. Just pray into it. And start. See what He wants to say through Holy Spirit. I have been in the same situation. I like to write but some days it is like: "I don't know what to write. I don't know how to write a book." Give Him thanks and ask Him for the words. Here is a scripture for you: Psalms 45:1, "My heart overflows with a good theme...my tongue is the pen of a ready writer." NASB

Thank you and God bless each of you for doing these videos. They are such a blessing. I would really love to hear your advice and guidance on dealing with in law’s (mother in-law and sibling in laws in my case) who are strict Roman Catholic and extremely abrasive and controlling. How do we as spirit filled Christian’s handle them with wisdom and kindness while also protecting ourselves from the spiritual onslaught with each interaction. I feel like I need constant spiritual armour and warfare when dealing with them. It’s intimidating and draining but I know God loves them so much and wants to see them come into personal relationship with Jesus. I have a fear and respect for God with how I live day to day (and am raising our children like that) that they just do not understand. Please help! 😂

What does “Fear of the Lord” or “raised them in the fear of the Lord” mean? What does it look like? Does that mean fear Gods punishments? Fear hell? Fear disappointing God? For someone with less biblical knowledge and a mom learning as she goes, what does that look like?
