oh dear I just finished reading the book... I was shocked by the end! Ravi seems nice at the beginning but turns out to be a spoiled and selfish coward! Hem would prove to be the true hero of the story.. still loved the book though!
It has never been released on DVD. I wish it would be! I have it on VHS, copied from TV back in the 90s. I haven't been able to watch it in years. A severely cut version is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime. I watched it recently and identified _at least_ seven scenes that have either been removed or shortened. Some were expository. Heartbreaking.
