Aunt Jemima looks like a sweet middle aged woman who would bake you cookies for Christmas and call you “baby” while giving you a hug. Not a symbol of racism. This world is lost to the lunatics I swear.
Yeah we as a nation have been chocking down her flapjacks and sucking down her syrup for 130 years!!!!! A lit late now to finally come to grip with her past!!!! Quacker should've came to this realization years earlier!!!
I am loving what Vera Harris and these folks in Hawkins are saying. Beautiful community and it warms my heart in these frustrating times knowing there are still good people among us with love in their hearts and also pride and understanding. Aunt Jemima is a beloved American icon and it seems wrong to erase her. 😢❤️
What i think is racist is removing her image and name from the product. Having the face and name on a product is glorification of a person's abilities and character not for a racist agenda. Doesn't work that way.
Aunt Jemima has one of the highest customer product ratings in the country, regardless of race. Why can't we just be happy? As my Mother used to say, "This is why we can't have nice things." Read the story of Nancy Green...the original Aunt Jemima...now THAT is a role model for everyone!
What the heck is racist about it?? Based on a “racial stereotype??” Give me a break!!! There is NO REASON to erase this woman from history! God bless her and all that she accomplished. I clearly remember being in the store with my mom as a boy and pointing and saying, “Mom, can you get Aunt Jemima?” And she put it in the grocery basket. I grew up with this syrup in my house. And I loved it.
I've allways thought aunt Jemima was not racist,,come on people this was long before you were ever thought of...I bet your ancestors didn't feel that way,,that lady made the others proud of her..I bet if you could put your face on that box and be as popularly as she was you wouldn't feel that way..
I am white as ever and never EVER looked at Aunt Jemima in a racist manner!!! She was a LEGEND in my book. She created a name and image for herself through the work she put in. Everybody is so sensitive. We live in a world full of cry babies and problem starters. I just can’t understand that. They should be ashamed to knock down her picture and remove her name. That’s just not right. I’ll forever eat pancakes In the name of Aunt Jemima! She’s always got my respect and love. I can’t stand this world. I swear.
I am For the Hawkins Family,, change the name and I will never buy anything from you ever again!!! Amen and Aunt Jemima cornmeal too !!!🥰🥰 please dont change the name😡😭😭😭😭😭😭😱👎👎👎👎👎 She was and still is such a beautiful woman for all WOMEN!!!!
Aunt Jemima was created as the white man's ideal depiction of the obedient black woman, and the racism has been passed down for so many generations that people born into it think nothing of it and if you try to question it they will instinctively defend it to the death. Let's not confuse systemic racism with heritage.
@@shinikyokai8815 not according to her family!! I call BULL CRAP on YOUR comment! This is fighting racism... HOW exactly?!
mammys are nannies who take care of other people's households with hardwork dedication and love. i dont get why people take mammys as insults.

I've decided to switch to Krusteaz because I refuse to have my breakfast served with a side of white guilt.
Krusteaz is good too. But the Land O Lakes and Aunt Jenkins controversy is beyond stupid. I miss Uncle Ben and Cream of Wheat guy too.

Change the name and the picture and no one will connect it to the brand they love. They'll have to advertise it as "the former Aunt Jemimia".
