faint memory -- original song

This song is about memories and how it feels when they fade, whether that occurs within this life or between lifetimes.
Have you ever looked at/heard/otherwise experienced something that feels familiar in a way you cannot place, often inducing a haunting feeling?
Also, you know the feeling of losing grasp of a dream, or of a noteworthy thought? I suppose these two memory-related concepts could be summarized as “Where did that come from and where did that go?”
Those things are what this song is about, along with the experience of versions of the self fading through time. That can be haunting too, both a "where did that come from?" and a "where did that go?".
