How to perform MacroDroid ADB hack to unlock more options (Jacob L)

- This shows how to get more options from MacroDroid by performing the ADB hack. The tool I made performs the tasks automatically.

(Called MacroDroid hack tool)
1. Download and extract the ZIP file.
2. On the phone, go to Settings\About (or system on some devices)\tap build number 7 times. Now go to Settings\Developer options\Enable USB debugging.
3. You should get a prompt however, if not, change the charge mode to file transfer mode via the notification or prompt.
4. Tick the box to allow from this computer and press the ok button.
5. Double click on Start here.bat then you are finished.

Thank you for making this .bat file! This makes it so much easier to do the adb hack than it normally would.
dude, i know absolutely nothing about adb. but i wanted a solution, and got this. this is real value add to the world. i can volunteer/ work to keep supporting this. this is real content.

Thanks. That saved me a lot of time as did my first phone manually with Powershell but have 5 other devices with Macrodroid on. What I found was that even when accessibilty was enabled manually, it would periodically stop and screw up some of my sequences. With the latest update and the ADB hack, it automatically re-enables them if they go off. Your tool saved me manually typing in all those commands so thanks again
Thank you! I was nervous about doing this to my phone, but your video made it clear. I did have a look at your batch file to try and better understand what's going on. And yes, anyone doing this is downloading and installing an APK from outside of the Play Store, but that is the users choice. 🙂
The APK is needed in order to toggle Wi-Fi and other features. That is the fault of Google, not Jamie (MacroDroid developer). The APK comes from MacroDroid.com/helper. I personally found it easier for people to have it setup automatically. In future I want to add a question confirming before proceeding.
@@jacob5320 Yes I’ve done it now, and it’s working fine, thanks. Your batch file certainly saves a lot of typing! It’s worrying that Google may be starting to constrain developers access to parts of their operating system, just like Apple have been doing for years with iOS! ☹️

Two files say "undecrypted file" and "NO_KEY".
So you used 'Anydesk' to connect to your Device (..instead of via USB)...

i) I had actually had the Option-Box: 'Root' ,
already checked within the Nox Player Settings;
(as with how it shows within the Video-LiNK; ('Above').
ii)I was initially un-sure, whether ADB Hack -&- Checking 'Root' in Nox Player Settings, were 100% equivalent with one another.
(Or, an equivalent substitute, when it comes to the Root Setting, within Nox Player.)
iii) As for my issues, involving the Notification Trigger, not working.
(Only when I 'test' the macro 'actions' manually it does.... But when it is supposed to based upon the Notification Trigger 'occurring' naturally/imprompt, it never does.
(...at 1st the workaround-trigger, which is to: "check the system-log", for when there is a notification received , had worked at 1st that way.... But now that way doesn't work neither, same as initially with the Notification Trigger).

@@jacob5320 - PS.. Each time I was waiting to see if one -or- the other (2) Trigger(s) previously mentioned would work...
I actually, had the Constraints either 'Dis'-abled -or- were ToGGLiNG them around; (..and confirming whether they all made sense or not ,for the Trigger to be 'expected' to work.)
..So the Constraints are ruled out, as being the problem. (I'll upload the Screenshot of that anyway, within that same folder-link above;though.)
Is there a way to use this same logic/work around to force macrodroid to let me use the 'power off' function as an action? Your tool worked for me but it doesn't seem to control any of the power functions. Thank you!
You usually need root to do this, within MacroDroid however, there are ADB plugins that allow you to do this without root. Here is an example plugin: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ADBPlugin. Once setup is complete, the command is adb reboot or adb reboot -p for shutdown
The .bat file is missing.
After I do this root, will I need to repeat it again when restarting the phone or things like that?

Some apps prevent this from happening, recent versions of MacroDroid added an option to include overlays in the UI interaction action. Also the 5.42 beta added an action to get text from screnshots which may help.

@@Fatman-de7egYou can do the ADB hack without root. If you did need to root, XDA developers is the best place to look.
How does one reverse what the cmd did on the phone? I no longer have use of macrodroid
If you've uninstalled MacroDroid then it is already reversed. Or if you clear it's app data from settings that will reverse it. If you still want your macros don't forget to make a backup/export

@@jacob5320 It didn't generate error apparently, the black screen ended, asked for any key to close. I went back to the app and the message still appeared in red

In Developer Options, scroll (all the way) down until u find
'Disable Permission Monitoring'
and turn it on.
Now the pm command should work
I noticed that they change it to: USB debugging (Security setting)
and location moved up

In developer options there may be a setting called permission monitor, that may be the issue.
