I am not one to comment on videos, but I am making an exception. I find it very realistic to see a how to video from a professional source that is working on a typical heavily rusted and neglected vehicle. It can be extremely misleading for a non experienced DIY guy to get pumped full of confidence watching work being performed on a show room condition drivetrain. Thanks for keeping it real world .

If that axle nut was over tightened and I drove a significant amount of miles on it, would I be causing damage to anything? Reason I mention it is because I performed this procedure last year and followed the torque specs (tighten to 60 ft lbs, then back off "7 clicks"). But after doing that my hub doesn't spin anywhere near as easy as you show in this video. With the entire rear off the ground, in order to move the the hub (forget "spinning it"), I need to wedge a pry bar in between two lug bolts and really lean my weight into it. After watching this I am now concerned. I should note the truck drives fine. Would appreciate a word of advice if you see this.

so do you not have to replace the seal that is on the shaft? the one you hit off of it.

Would this also apply to an 05 f250?
