It's as good as possible. There are others who can be considered but these have been our best players.
The actual list:
Sammy
Darrell
Riggo
Art
My personal favorites:
(Started watching in 2010)
Ryan Kerrigan
Terry McLaurin
Tress Way
Billy Cundiff(kidding)
Santana Moss
I'm happy with that Mount Rushmore.
Sammy
Darrell
Art
Riggo
I agree. They all have been MVPs or multiple time All-pros over many years.
I'm good with there's. My personal is Sean Taylor, Clinton Portis, Tana man, London Fletcher.
Yeah no...
@jj18057 that's why it's "my personal" lol
Seems reflective of when you grew up,,,
There we’re def players better, but it’s been so long, many of us not even alive to watch some of the guys
Sammy Baugh, (drafted, 10 plus years, never played for another team, winner)= Mt Rushmore. Charley Taylor (drafted 10+ years, no other team, winner)= Mt Rushmore, Darrell Green, (drafted, 10+ years, 1 team, winner) and Monte Coleman, ( drafted, 18 years, retired as “Mr. Redskin”, winner) there you have it my friends
I'll have to step to the side on this one. I didn't watch enough Washington history and really know ALL of the greats to know I would exactly be on there.
I agree wit Mt. Rushmore❤
My favorite Dexter Manley,Darrell Green, Gary Clark, Clinton Portis. Honorable mention: Sean Taylor!!
I’m very pleased with our MT. Rushmore! My personal mountain of favorites would have Clinton Portis, Santana Moss, Sean Taylor, & London Fletcher. 🔥
Mt. Rushmore:
Sammy Baugh
Sonny Jurgensen
Darrell Green
Art Monk
Sammy Baugh
Darrel Green
Art Monk
Mark Mosley
Their Mt. Rushmore is spot on.
That’s a good looking Mt. Rushmore. Honor mentions the three kings ( Clinton Portis, Santana Moss, Sean Taylor), Dexter Manly, Ryan Kerrigan, Gary Clark.
I was born on March 1st of 1975. My father introduced me to the REDSKINS ( on the day of Super Bowl 17- My first recollection of the sport of 🏈).
I've been a fan eversince. (Seen all three Superbowls; plus I've HAD TO ENDURE last regime just like everyone else.) I would only mention or include Brian Mitchell/Gary Clark on my personal list.
Yeah .. can't fix get about B Mitch achievements
Since u stated we must include Sammy than its the same Mount Rushmore.
My separate is Green, Riggo, Monk and Monte Coleman..
Sammy Baugh,Art monk,John Riggins ,Sean Taylor
It’s really hard to leave off Darrell Green. He was a 5 time ALL PRO, 8 time Pro Bowler, and played for this franchise 20 years. If there ever was a “Mr.Redskin” it would be him.
Any Mt. Rushmore without Joe Gibbs is crazy, but if we are sticking to players, that's about right.
I’m satisfied with the Mount Rushmore list but my personal favorite is Santana moss, scary terry, Sean Taylor and London fletcher
✔️ in first Big Lou 💪🏾 keep dropping 🫳 that 🔥
That mount Rushmore is perfect that's who should be there BUT as a secondary one,
Manley, theisman, sonny, and hogs all in one lol. We all know Sean Taylor would be up there and HOF but only got to play 3 in a half seasons tragically..
Had this debate years ago. This was my Mt Rushmore before they said it. It's what it should be. It would be my personal preference as well. 💯
Only honorable mention personal favorites are Joe Jacoby, and Dexter Manley.
Sammy Baugh, Darrel Green, Joe Jacoby, Riggo.
Doug Williams, Sean Taylor, John Riggins, Ryan Kerrigan
I love Art Monk.. he can stay but for me the moment Gary Clark arrived he was the leader of the receiver corp.
I need Sean Taylor on it 🙏🏽🕊️
My personal is Sean Taylor, DG, And Fletch
as far as players I watched: Sean Taylor, London Fletcher, Clinton Portis, (Chris Cooley or Santana Moss).
Honourable mention: Ryan Kerrigan aka HBK.
My fav Sammy Baugh, Darrell Green, Art Monk, Sonny Jugensen
Apologies for the long post...
No Mt. Rushmore of Washington Football Greats would be complete without a member of the Hogs Oline. That unit was a major constant in terms of our success during the glory years. With that said, Russ Grimm has to be part of this group.
My personal list of Washington Greats:
Darrell Green, Art Monk, Gary Clark, Joe Jacoby, and Monte Coleman. Each of these players exemplified what winning was about both on and off the field. Coleman was an unsung hero but great mentor and keeper of the Redskin Standard. I have fond memories of seeing him raise his helmet as players were introduced on game day. He understood the tradition and significance of what it meant to play in D.C.
That’s easy Albert Haynesworth , Dan Snyder , Bruce Allen , Deion Sanders
Funny. It's the anti-Rushmore 😊 I would replace Deion with Vinny Cerrato.
Baugh, Riggo, Green and Williams my favorites Santana, Taylor, Manley and Green
Darell Green
Doug Williams
Dexter Manley
Sean Taylor
Honorable mentions, Champ Bailey, Lavar Arrington, Riggins, Santana Moss, Gary Clark
I think Doug Williams should be up on there because he was the first black quarterback to win the Super Bowl!!!!!!
The entire mt Rushmore is older than my DAD
I agree with the list as is but my favorite list is Green, Bailey, Fletcher, Trent Williams is my personal Rushmore
Monk and Green are undeniable. Baugh and Riggins are 5th and 6th behind Bobby Mitchell and Sonny J. IMO.... My Mt Rushmore is Monk, McLaurin, Sean Taylor, Ryan Kerrigan.
i’m 20 so i’m a young buck but i’m gonna have to say London Fletcher, Art Monk, Gary Clark, John Riggins
Those 4 i am fine with for the Mount Rushmore.
For my own personal favorite players Mount Rushmore
1. Darrell Green
2. Art Monk
3. Sean Taylor
4. Dexter Manley
And as an honorable mention The Hogs as a unit protecting everyone.
A name a lot of people might not remember that i lived watching was Mike Nelms #21 back in the 80's that was fearless in kick and point returns, he refused to fair catch the ball.
My Washington Mt. Rushmore: Sonny, Jacoby, Gary Clark and Manley
That Mt Rushmore is correct as far as I see.
Mine would be
Santana Moss
Ryan Kerrigan
RG3(that year was too electric to pass up)
Pierre Garçon or Terry
My personal mt rushmore is sean taylor , scary terry ,d green , ryan kerrigan
Riggins, green, monk, , Jurgensen and theisman. People are crazy thinking Sean taylor on Washington mt. Rushmore.
Mount Rushmore: 1) being drafted by the Redskins, 2) retired as a Redskin having never played for another team, 3) longevity, 10 plus years in B&G, 4) winning: cont on next post;
Give me D Green, D Williams (being the 1st AA QB in the league to win a SB carries weight) Art Monk and Dexter Manley (they didn't count sacks until he had already been in the league ... Of they counted all of them he'd probably be all-time sack leader...
Now as my favorites go ..it's Dexter,Doug,Darrell and Wilber Marshall
My list: London Fletcher, Trent Williams, Terry McLaurin, Jordan Reed.. HM: Alfred Morris
Say you are young with out saying your young 😂... Good list for The Dan Snyder era tho..
I think the list was accurate except for one I will put Russ Grimm ahead of John Riggins my Mount Rushmore Theismann Monk Darrell G even though we only got a small sample size Sean Taylor
Your thumbnail game is always on point lou. 👌
It's hard to argue against that Mt. Rushmore. I'd have to agree with it. Green, Monk and Riggins are pillars of the earlier modern day Skins. Baugh goes without question. My personal Mt. Rushmore would be 21, Charles Mann, Dexter Manley and Theismann. When I think of the Redskins, these are some of the first names that come to mind.
For those of us "old heads" that are generational fans the Redskins the Rushmore Four could only be Baugh, Jurgenson, Riggins and Green. Charlie Taylor and Art Monk would be the odd men out IMO.
Yeah, that would be my objective Mt. Rushmore as well. As for my personal Rushmore of players I actually watched… it’s tough, but I’d say Santana Moss, Chris Cooley, Sean Taylor, and London Fletcher.
None of those guys should replace ANY of the 4 on there
@@jj18057 obviously, but Lou said to make a Mt. Rushmore of our personal favorites. I literally just said that those were the objectively 4 greatest players in franchise history.
Mount Rushmore should be 1) home grown, meaning being drafted by the Redskins2) retired having never played elsewhere, 3) longevity, 10 plus years, 4) winning
Baugh, Green, Monk and probably a controversial selection due to longevity, but S.Taylor. No doubt he would have made the Redskins' Mount Rushmore.
Cason wentz, reuben foster, cam sims, and bryce young
No Malcolm Kelly or Josh Doctson?
@@raymondsmith2040 a list like this is never easy but I see your point
@@ScratchMoreFortune I hear you but Sexy Rexy over Carson Wentz all day for me
Swap cam Simms out for Sua Cravens and Carson Wentz with Josh Dotson lol
Joe Theismann replaces Art Monk!
Dexter and Monty Coleman
I would replace Riggins with Dave Butz
Jorgensen , theismen, green, monk
While I personally agree with the 3 of the selections the only one I disagree with is John Riggins. I personally feel that when you think about the culture he brought to our Redskin universe, our city, the gasoline and matches he brought to the Cowboys rivalry, his tenacity and his production, it's hard not to have Dexter Manley in Riggo's place.. its close tho..lol
I put the same players on my Washington Mt. Rushmore. Riggo, Art Monk, Darrell Green and Sammy Baugh. Perfect list.
My favorite Redskin/FT/Commander players Mt. Rushmore is;
Sean Taylor
Ryan Kerrigan
Clinton Portis
Terry McLaurin
Honorable mentions for my "best Washington Redskin player Mt. Rushmore" goes to Charlie Taylor, Joe Theisman, Ricky Sanders, Dexter Manly, Gary Clark, a very small white CB (DB?) that played back in the 70's who had a hell of a beef with former Eagles TE Harold Carmichael who was like over a foot taller but made a great firey competition. I forget his name! 😂) and so many more!
Honorable mentions for my favorite Redskins/FT/Commanders players are;
Santana Moss, Chris Cooley, Alfred Morris, DeAngelo Hall, Pierre Garcon, Trent Williams, Kirk Cousins, Jordan Reed, London Fletcher, Reed Doughty(😂), Jonathan Allen/DaRon Payne, Kamren Curl and Chris Samuels. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few others but that's who came to me off the top of my head.
END OF THE MT RUSHMORE STORY
😢NO. RUSHMORE WITHOUT SONNY !!!!!!!
I'm fine with their list. For my personal one, I'd go Art Monk, Darrell Green, Brian Mitchell, and Charles Mann. Watching those guys play when I was young cemented me as a fan of this team.
You can't have 2 wr's in a Mount Rushmore
Riggo, Art, Darrell and Charley Taylor
Riggo, Art, Darrell and a tie for fourth with Monte Coleman and Mike Nelms = mine.
Add Grimm
Hey Lou, why we gotta recognize Sammy Baugh, when he played in an era where they didn’t even let black people play?? There’s no way he makes my “Rushmore” Monk, Green, Manley, Jacoby! We sleep on ole Dexter as a fan base, check his stats, BEST DE to put a jersey on in Burgundy and Gold!!
I get what your saying but that wasnt sammys fault
@@jsour90 I ain’t say it was his fault either, but he wasn’t playing against the best competition so that shit don’t count to me 🤷🏽♂️
MY Mount Rushmore is:
Santana
21
McLaurin
Portis
Who yo plug? I want in
@@justinevans182it’s his opinion relax
@aminc89 ikr? People on this chat have a hard time hearing apparently. Louie straight up said "personal Mt. Rushmore" 😆
@@raymondsmith2040 lmao word Portia is my fav running back don’t mean I think he better then riggo he just the best back I seen in the redskin uniform
Doug williams?
1- the Commanders have no history or legends. 2- It’s Redskins legends and Redskins version of Mt Rushmore. I’m taking yours but I’m adding a Hog face in place of Slingin Sammy. Nothing happens for the Skins without that group.
It's fine what you have, but the toss up is riggins or theismann ❤ hail to the redskins
Love Riggins but I take him off add a hog
